Although they didn't have the product/service I requested (colored acrylic), they made every effort to provide the same look with a different application (dip with a tip). My nail tech (Linda) was so kind and responsive, and paid attention to every detail to ensure my hands and feet were amazing. I requested a pedicure and manicure today. The quality of what I got done was not the issue ,but the attitude I was getting from the man doing my pedicure was very unprofessional. He was upset that he had to fix my toe and shamed me for it. As well as making unnecessary remakes of my toe nails when requesting a certain shape. He was very nice to other customers ,but not to me for some reason. I requested a manager after I paid ,but they supposedly were not there. I'm a very nice person and did not give anything to receive this treatment in return. The pedicure lacked massage pressure, cleanliness and professional care. I left with nails that were sloppy. He did not properly layer the nails polish so it has bubbled up. He did not take the time to completely cover the nail but managed to get polish on my skin which he did not clean up. If you are a regular and not black you will enjoy Royal Nails on Pike Road. Bad service and quality. Gel nails broke off into pieces immediately and were not dry when I left. The ambiance is nice, but I would not recommend getting your nails done here. I hate to say it but as beautiful as this salon is, it is also RACIST. Sadly, this is a known fact amongst the Black and Asian community but being new here, I didn't know. They really do not want to serve black people. I initially had my suspicions given the unfriendly greeting and the overwhelmingly all white clientele, but eventually my thoughts were confirmed by the nail tech telling me something to the effect of "your people" tend to be rude or don't want to pay our prices. This was basically a summarized reason for why they don't really prefer black clientele to frequent their establishment. She stated this after my 4th or 5th visit. So I simply stopped going. No need to give money where "my people" aren't welcome. read more

Royal Nails- Pike Road We have been going to Royal Nails on Pike Road for quite some time even when things felt off, but after yesterday we are done. We had appointments at 5 and we sat in the chair for over 20 minutes and was never acknowledged. A couple came in during the time of our appointment who "didn't look like us" and were seated immediately in pedicure chairs and given wine. I asked the staff why they were accommodated after we had been sitting in the chairs for over 30 minutes and they couldn't provide an explanation. On another occasion, the staff told my husband that he would have to pay prior to our services being finished and everyone else during this time were paying after rendered services. I don't use the word racist lightly, but I will say that the environment in this establishment isn't diversity friendly and it was made definitively clear that they don't prefer people of color in their establishment. read more

I've never had to go home and fix a manicure before, but that is what I had to do today. I Went to Royal Nails because I am disabled and cannot trim my toe nails due to back problems. The pedicure went better than the manicure, but that may only be because my toes have nail polish on them and I can't see them well. My nails were terrible. I asked for the basic manicure, but at the very least, I would have expected my nails to be evenly cut. I've never had to go home and pull out my emery board and fix it. The man who did my nails, Phu Mai, had the worst nails I've ever seen - cracked, uneven, and at least one looked like it had a fungus infection. I hope I don't get whatever he has. read more

I've lived in many different states and visited LOTS of different nail salons. This is BY FAR the nicest nail salon I've ever been to! They have an easy and quick check-in service that allows you to clearly see services and prices on an iPad and choose what you want. After checking in, a ticket prints out with your service clearly stated. I really liked this feature because the employees weren't trying to up-sale you the entire time. I got the Deluxe pedicure and felt it was absolutely worth the price! My only disappointment was that someone forgot to give me the neck wrap...but that's ok. I'll be sure to ask next time. They have installed plexi glass barriers as a result of Covid and use individual cream, scrub, and open a fresh pack of sanitized products each time they perform a service. Normally, I love this salon! People are wonder and they do a fabulous job. Today, not such a good experience. My daughter and I had appointments for 3:45. At 4 pm we were led to pedicure seats. We sat for 30min before someone even approached us to even start our pedicure. It was then another 15 mins before my pedicure was even started. The technician doing my daughter's pedicure then started there may not be enough time for her manicure. Really? I realize Sundays tend to be busy. This day was very poorly managed. The staff are very professional, friendly, and funny. I wouldn't recommend this place to ANYONE. I will no longer visit this salon due to the disrespect I've received and witnessed others receive from the employees. I witnessed a nail tech named Brandon tell a woman nastily that she was TOO OLD to have a certain nail color and that it didn't match her skin tone. She hadn't asked for his opinion on the color. He was extremely rude! The woman was obviously humiliated and offended and expressed this to the manager, who didn't care. On a different day, a tech named Kyle asked me, when my baby was due. I'm nowhere near pregnant and no one has ever asked me that. I told him I wasn't pregnant and he just shrugged and didn't even apologize. Throughout the rest of the pedicure, he kept asking me to hold my own feet up. That's extremely uncomfortable and I've never been asked that by anyone who has given me a pedicure. The last time I was there, a tech named Thi kept pressuring me to get a deluxe collagen manicure. He even said loudly, "Do it! Do it!" That was ridiculous. Lovely place to get pampered - the nail artists are friendly and experienced. I had a pedicure done by JR and it was by far one of the best I've ever had. He took his time, gave me a great massage and his polish work was amazing, clean, and precise. If I lived in the area I would certainly be back. FYI they line their jet tubs with a plastic liner - which is huge for me since I'm not a fan of jet tubs because they can't be thoroughly cleaned. This place used to be my go to nail salon because there nails are good priced and good quality but not anymore. I went and got nails done here about a week or 2 ago and i got my regular extensions with the gel and not even a week later around half had fallen off. I would understand this if i was doing harsher activities but i wasn't. I ended up taking them all off and going back in to get them redone since prom is in a few days. I had them for no more 48 hours and one has already fallen off even after switching to acrylics when they told me they were stronger. When i went back in there today they were very rude not only over the phone but in the salon as well. If prom wasn't in 2 days i wouldn't have gone back at all but i needed my nail fixed and quick. After this incident i will NEVER go back there. Save your time and money. read more
