The hotel is run by a couple where the husband does all this amazing cooking...and the wife does everything else. It's full of quirky antiques, dark wood furniture and leather chairs. And everything has a story, right down to the whiskey tumblers. If you are looking for a romantic getaway, or just need a place to stay while travelling through, I would really recommend this place!

The waterfalls in the stream nearby, the charming rooms, a great pub down the road and they were always there to tend to every need. The next morning breakfast was awesome and I tried oat biscuits and raspberry jam for the first time. SO GOOD! Kerry left homemade shortbread in our room to nibble on and I wish I had asked for the recipe! It was very warm and we were sad to have to leave. I know when I go to Scotland again I will make sure to go there. Thank you Kerry and Andrew we loved our chat and the cup of coffee! I will be recommending you to others who are traveling to Scotland. Your hospitality was above and beyond what I ever expected. PS. Glencoe was everything you said it was and more! SO SO BEAUTIFUL! Great little fire place in the bar area though it's only for decoration so a little disappointing in such a wet afternoon! A little update this place has a small collection of books for children in bar area & out the back a small play area for the good weather days, ideal for family I'd say. Meal to follow so will update more soon We ordered a few starters to share nachos (small) bruschetta & haggis Bon Bon's...so first thing to arrive was the nachos personally I don't mind food come out a different times better to have it fresh then having it sit under heat lamps in the kitchen. Anyway the nachos... so please let we ordered small they were very large, I don't usually go for nachos for starters but was overruled & I glad of it the salsa & guacamole were both made on the premise and were brilliantI like that it was no bother to have all the dips on the side sure the menu said it was on the nachos. The bruschetta was good though my niece had difficulty cutting it so maybe could have been toasted a little more though it wouldn't have been an issue for the adults. The haggis Bon Bon's were delicious with a whisky sauce I think, they were larger than I thought they would be (I was thinking actual Bon Bon's size) All in all a great place to stumble across and I would definitely head here the next time I'm in Crieff

We tried on our first week in Edinburgh and failed, but were able to make reservations 3 weeks out for our last night in Scotland, and we are glad we did. Pork cracklins were a bit hard and crunchy, but everything else was perfect. We had fresh bread and langostinis for starters, along with a smokey whiskey cocktail, the Smoked Indiscretion! For mains we enjoyed the poached Cod, and the Pork with Barley. Service was very good, and wine selection was extensive. Atmosphere was loud with music and locals' chatter in the bar below, but dark tables and heavy wood panels made it a perfect place for a couple celebrating 3 weeks of travel. Highly recommend a visit to the Devil's Advocate, if you can book a table in advance.

But they call these lessons, "character building," apparently. No matter, the Devil's Advocate is worth the search. Located in an old Victorian pump house halfway up (or down) Advocate's Close, the Devil's Advocate is known for a killer whisky shelf of more than 300 different bottles from various distilleries across the Highlands, Lowlands, Speyside, Campbelltown, the Islands, and Islay. I finally sipped on a 15-year Tamdu that has convinced me to keep a bottle at home. Then there's the Clydeside 2024 Limited Edition Cask Strength that was wicked impressive. The bartenders are class at making and serving seasonal and regular cocktails that have their spin and character. My wife enjoyed gin-based cocktails such as the Clean Slate (with St-Germain, citrus, and sugar), Rose Garden (with Yellow Chartreuse, Cocchi Rosa, apple, lemon, and mint), and Bee's Knees (honey and lemon). I went full speed ahead with the scotch cocktails, which are essentially classics with a scotch-substituted twist. The Double Shot is an Espresso Martini with Dalmore 12 in addition to Kahlua, espresso, and demerara -- quite smooth without being too sweet. The Scotzia is a Negroni with Fettercairn 12, while the Boxcar is a Sidecar only with Aberfeldy 12. We enjoyed the bar for a few hours, watching the bartenders make magic while sipping on cocktails, while listening to 80s pop tunes. A great evening indeed.

Excellent food? Yes…read more Best place to eat in Crieff? Quite possibly. Due to tourism, Crieff has more cafes, delicatessens and gourmet shops than most towns it's size. So when I was walking in the centre of town and Delivino caught my eyes, I have to admit I wasn't completely surprised to find a place that looked so enticing. However, my experience in across Perthshire has still left me a bit suspicious of restaurants and cafes that look inviting, but in the end don't quite meet expectations. Delivino exceeded mine. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by someone who we assume was at least the manager. He was very helpful in pointing us to some bar seating by the window. It's crazy... it was 2.30pm on a Saturday every table in the cafe was occupied except for two which were reserved... next time, I know to phone ahead. It was hard to decide what to eat, simply because I loved almost all of the options. In the end I went with the crayfish tails bruschetta. The crayfish tails were in a lime mayonnaise that was irresistible. I haven't had crayfish this tasty outside of Louisiana in a long time. It comes on a bed of rocket salad on top of two slices of bread. It was amazing. We finished up our meal sharing a piece of lemon and blueberry cake. To be honest, this was the only slightly disappointing element to our experience. It was just ok, and wasn't as lemony as I had hoped. We should've gone with the recommendation of the carrot cake or chocolate sponge, which both looked amazing. But in the end, the cake was by no means lacking enough for me to give this place a lower rating. They sell wines, cheeses and other foods in the cafe. They also have a tea/coffee and chocolate option, which I will have to try out in the near future. Due to my work, I will find myself in Crieff more often these days, which I by no means am complaining about. And I will definitely be stopping at Delivino whenever I have the chance... and I'll have a hard time ordering something besides the crayfish bruschetta... except for maybe the tea and chocolate.

**WARNING** This is a lengthy review and you WILL be hungry after reading!…read more Just outside Perth and a short detour from the A9 lies Tibbermore (I know, cute right!), a typical 'blink and you'll miss it' kinda place, but really, just don't blink cos this place is awesome! It really does have it all - fresh fruit and vegetables all leafy and colourful, a gin lovers corner, wonderful cheese and meats deli, health foods section including a variety a GF flours, breads and oatcakes (try their own oatcakes, completely different from the brand that sounds like Talkers but sooo much tastier!), tray upon tray of freshly laid eggs...I could go on but you get the idea! And that's just the food section! They also have a glorious gift section where I could've easily spent a small fortune. Everything from kitchen gadgets to picnic baskets, kiddie gifts to Emma Bridgewater pottery and everything in between. I spotted a few local producers too which I loved as I always like to see locals businesses supporting each other. Then there's the café/restaurant which has a few outdoor tables but plenty inside if they're taken; the day I visited it was glorious but somehow we got lucky and got a table outside (my shoulders can prove that #scottishtan!...). The menu has lots of tasty options incorporating as much of their own produce as possible - I opted for the Homemade Chicken Liver pate while my parents both had the Smoked Ayrshire Ham & Gloagburn Curried Banana Chutney sandwich (Dad went hunting for the ham to buy later he was that impressed!). Once decided, we had to go inside and order at the counter; I'm not sure if this was due to us sitting outside or standard practise as when we asked for a second round of coffees (and some more oatcakes for me as I'd ran out!), a waitress came over with one of those electronic hand-held thingys to take that order so I wondered why she couldn't have done that initially, anyway, not really a star-affecting issue. Pricewise, we were just shy of £10/head for a sandwich and coffee (exc our 2nd coffee round), a tad steep but it's all fresh and local produce so I don't mind paying that when you know you're getting good quality (and it really was!). Given it's out-the-way location it's a busy wee place but worth the trip as you could easily spend a couple of hours here eating and browsing. There's plenty parking available and even a small play area for kids. Farm Shops like this don't come around too often, which is a shame as they really are wee gems of places!
