We really enjoy eating at Royal India. Their food is very delicious. For an appetizer, they have a vegetable Samosa which is incredibly delicious. It's a fried pastry stuff with potatoes and peas and it's so good. I like their chicken tikka and chicken masala. They can do different spice ranges to customize it for your tastes.

Love this place. Amazing Saag and Tika Masala. One of the best in the Salt Lake Valley next to Bombay House. The naan is also fantastic.

Great food every time. I really love the intensity of how hot they make the flavor of the food. Great garlic naan. Great service.

"A-OK" sounds about right. The saag is decent and the nan is OK. For better Indian food in Salt Lake, true India House or Bombay House.

Food is delicious and abundant. Nice decor and helpful wait staff…read more The prices are reasonable For specialty food. I had made a reservation, but it wasn't necessary. Since it was Thanksgiving and mid afternoon, it was quiet. A 10% holiday discount was given by the restaurant.

This was my family's first trip to Jalwa since it used to be the former Aroma Indian restaurant…read morethat we have patronized for years. The new interior refresh is nice, modern, and inviting...and a pleasant departure from the typical Indian restaurant... Although I think some modern cultural artwork, paintings, and decorations would be very fitting as an add-on to the Jalwa restaurant. Our waiter was very pleasant (although he spoke in hushed tones...and it was difficult to hear him.) He also got a little confused as to what we were looking for with respect to just wanting the papadums with chutney (which is a standard appetizer at most Indian restaurants that we've patronized,) but instead we got vegetable pakora with chutney and just plain papadums on the side. Hmmmm. Nevertheless, it was all delicious. My wife's main entree was the butter chicken, and we both shared a saag aloo. I had my go-to chicken vindaloo, and it was delicious. The portion sizes are humongous, which is a nice departure from the typical Indian restaurant where you pay $15 and get maybe half the bowl that Jalwa provides. Overall, an excellent experience and will be back to patronize more often. Oh, and they're newly updated and revised menu is awesome! Dozens and dozens of options. It took us at least 10 minutes to get through it all to figure out what we wanted! Four stars for good food (and plenty of it), good service, and a nice new atmosphere as compared to Aroma. Absolutely recommend!

Inside the restaurant had very lovely, eye-catching decor. I was greeted and welcomed warmly immediately by what seemed to be the owner. Inside was somewhat busy for lunch but I was seated right away. When my order was taken, I planned on getting the same items as before, but my server was kind enough to suggest some new dishes to me. He recommended the paneer masala and garlic naan. Convinced me on the spot, and the flavors did NOT disappoint. I like my food spicy and had the paneer masala made very very hot. The gravy was perfect. The naan was fresh, crispy, airy, and paired nicely with the paneer masala. My order came with a side of rice, which was a nice alternative to the naan. The employees made their rounds often to make sure all customers were satisfied and enjoying. For dessert, I decided on warm gulab jamun. The order came with four, and was very yummy. Highly recommend if you're craving delicious Indian food in the area. I believe they also have other locations in nearby cities/towns.

We went in without huge expectations since the menu plays it pretty safe, but the Chicken Mumbai Masala genuinely impressed us--rich, flavorful, and easily better than the Tikka Masala. The Lamb Biryani was decent, though not particularly memorable. Garlic Naan was fine: soft and approachable, but missing that charred, tandoor-kissed flavor I love. Service was warm and friendly, and the owner personally stopped by to check on our experience--a nice touch. The ambiance is interesting too: warm, almost mountain-lodge vibes decked out with Indian cultural décor. Reasonable prices, a great location, and reliably good food. Mumbai House may not reinvent the wheel, but it's a dependable choice when the Indian food craving hits.

I've also had better elsewhere but it's OK. Taking a long time to get out tikka masala and butter chicken. You would think that those would be stock items. Dine in and the food is served in a Costa Vida size aluminum pan with cover. Plastic fork and spoon available but no knives, which I would have liked. Not so much of a fan of the flavors. I tried my wife's tikka masala. Meh. Same for my butter chicken. It really didn't taste like butter chicken. Not the same traditional color, either, because it probably lacked tomato sauce. Well, give it a try. It's not for me. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. Would definitely recommend you trying it to get your own take on it. 2* = Not so good. Would not recommend at all. Waste of money. 1* = How are they still in business? Stay away at all costs!
