Ok, so... I usually do my own nails.. I have a decent collection of nail polishes and nail art and every utensil needed to do my nails... But because of work and school I haven't had a chance to get to them... The last time I did them was like two months ago... So today out of all days I decided to get them done at a nail salon. I said let me get gel... Because they last two weeks and in two weeks I'll be done with school and I'll be able to go back to doing my nails. So I yelped a spot because it's been years since I went to one. I found this place, read the reviews and chose to go there. I came in at 6:20pm. They close at 8:00. I called early this morning to ask if I needed an appointment. Lady on the phone said I could walk in. Place is clean. Big collections of gel polishes. They even have the mood changing color. They offer massages, facials and wax. They have 4 tables. 1st table a lady, 2nd a man, 3rd and 4th ladies. This is my experience of how it went down... I came in, lady at the first table asks what I would like to get done. I said gel manicure. I believe she was Sao, the business owner. Sorry if I'm mistaken. She sends me to lady at the 3rd table. Only person not busy at the time. Lady looks at my nails and asks if I want to cut them. I say no, just file them and make them look square. So she starts filing. When she finishes she pulls out the drill and starts filing the bed of my nails. While she is doing this I'm looking through the mirrors at the prices. And it says, gel manicure $20, gel polish $10. I'm thinking to my self, she is not doing a manicure, she is only doing a gel polish. I'm thinking this because she's already filing my nail bed, and because she never took out the utensils nor the bowl with water. Before she continues I ask about the difference in prices, btw gel manicure and gel polish. She didn't understands me. I ask again and pointed at the prices on the wall. I don't think she understood me this second time, because she said it's the same thing. So we continue. I kept quite, don't do much talking. I just let her work on my nails. After filing I went and washed my hands. And picked a gray polish, but she recommended a nude color. So I went with the nude color. (Which I liked a lot.) While she's painting my nails I ask to get a pedicure too. She said yeah sure. She finish painting my nails and forgot to put lotion on my hand. I went ahead and sat where she sent me too. While I'm getting my feet done, two ladies come in and both ask for gel manicure. There was an empty table by then so one of the lady sat there. Before the girl started working on this lady, she sets everything up with the water bowl and the utensils. So I'm thinking. Yeah, I think the lady that took care of me only did a gel polish, not a manicure. My pedicure was done. Lady that took care of me went ahead to take care of the other lady. She sets everything up for manicure. Just like the other lady, she takes out water bowl and utensils. By then I had confirmed that mines was just a gel polish. Because of how both of them set everything up for the other two ladies. So Im thinking, I only need to pay $24. $10 for gel polish, and $14 for pedicure. I sat in the drier for like 20 mins watching how they work on the other two ladies. I then notice how ashy my hands were and asked for lotion. She puts so mush lotion on my hands I could have lotion my whole body with it. But I just wiped it off on my pants didn't want to bother. I finished drying and ask for my bill. She says $34. $34?!?! I ask why is it $34. She says gel manicure and pedicure is $34. I said yes I know that, but you only painted my nails and did a pedicure. She says, no. I did a manicure too. I reply, no you did not. You did nothing to my cuticles, you only file down my nails. She says, I removed your cuticles with the drill, didn't you see me. I was like, you were only prepping my nails for gel not removing my cuticle. You need utensils and water bowl for cuticles. She says, it all depends on how bad you cuticles are. Your nails didn't need it. I look at lady at first table, lady ask manicurist how much it is. She says $34. I paid the $34 and went and gave her a $5 tip and said thank you. Wanted her to see that's it wasn't about the money. Just got mad because I know what a manicure consist of. And that was not one. I will come back. Next time just for a gel polish. I liked my nails. She is good at painting them. Can't rate her at anything else. Like I said. The place is nice. Good variety of colors. I'm giving it 3 stars because of how it went down. read more

So, the pros outweigh the cons at this salon. I have gone to this salon many times. They have many staff who can do the beautiful intricate designs and styles. They are clean and quick. But the wait time sometimes is longgg. Early morning is the best time to go. Lisa and mony do my nails when I go and I leave happy every time. Lisa even asks if I want tea or water. You get what you pay for meaning you pay $60 for ombré but it's gorgeous ombré. Other places charge $30 for ombré but it doesn't look like ombré lol. They charge you what the nails are worth and how much trouble they go thru to give u what u want. These people are fucking SCUMBAGS! I am from upstate (Hudson Valley) so if you're from anywhere else other than the Bronx then you need to read this.... First time I went to this store there was literally a 3 hour wait. I was going in for a gel refill. I sometimes like designs and different colors. I went in and got a purple color, my ring finger was a pretty French tip and I got a 3D bow; I loved it! But the price was 50$!!!!!!!!! That's double what I pay for in Poughkeepsie or Newburgh!! Why am I going to travel for a less expensive place for this?? Even though I was furious I still payed but it stuck with me and I wanted to know. Did I really get ripped off because I'm not a Bronx native??? Just yesterday I tested my hypothesis. I called them the first time asking for a gel French refill, the lady responds with 50$! So I hung up and called back two minutes later asking the same question a different woman with a different accent told me $40. I also asked her how much a gel refill with one gel color would cost and she said 25$. So I decided the French way was not the way so I gave it one more try. I went, the same lady recognized me and grabbed me after I waited 1 hour and 45 mins. She did my nails, sloppily and probably angry because she wasn't going to be able to squeeze more money from me via French tips or multi colored nails. Well she finished and was like 35$ for the total.... Um hello! I couldn't believe it, she charged me 10$ for gel nail polish when it's 3$ on Fordham (Little Italy)!!! The best part was that a guy tried arguing with me by saying that HE TOLD ME IT WAS 35$. If you remember correctly I said I spoke to TWO WOMEN, NOT A MALE. So this just told me that these people are in the business of ripping innocent people off are prepared with poor responses. I have been to this nail salon a few times and I have had almost everyone do my nails except one. the last time I went, Henry did my nails and it is absolutely the best. The other ones have not done my gel manicure as detailed and efficient as he did. it was more like a rushed, pay and leave situation. I gave him a generous tip because it was a great job. I have noticed that some don't even bring out the bowl and some don't even require you to wash your hands, which is just bizarre. I know that this is not the Ritz Carlton or the arden but some of them should really put some effort in what they do. it's a business that flourishes from its customer service. Large color selection; both gel and regular polish. Very clean and cozy environment. The pedicure chairs are extremely comfortable. Reasonable prices: $14 pedicure, $20 full set. I was charged an extra $5 for my shape but that's to be expected. I wish there was a little more massage to the pedicure but other than that it was good. I love my nails and I definitely will be returning. They have a customer loyalty card, after 5 times your 6th visit is 20% off. Terrible If I could give zero stars I would. Here's why. 1. They have so much attitude, especially from the owner. God forbid you tell them to file this or buff this nail a little more. They will argue that it's fine. 2. Treated a LOYAL CUSTOMER OF 6 YEARS like shit bc I asked to get a card stamped an extra time bc I forgot to the last time (every 8th visit they offer 20% off)----FYI, they used to have a discount every 6th visit but then they got to cheap and extended it to every 8th. Anyway, the owner told me no and that I have to remember. Mind you I wasn't asking to get stamped to the 8th visit mark.. just the 3rd and 4th. Another FYI.. they have spectacular memory when it comes to my mother and sister coming in when I'm not with them and talking to me about it and the color they picked out and that it was pretty etc etc. but seem to forget SO quickly that I was literally there 4 days prior. 3. My sister and I once got the same nail design done but we went at separate times. I later find out they charged me TEN DOLLARS EXTRA for the same exact thing. THEY ARE SCAMMERS. BELIEVE THE OTHER REVIEWS ON HERE. 4. The owner is a thief as well. She will attempt to overcharge you at anytime she has a chance. I once used my 20% discount and it came out to something that I can't remember but ended in 20 cents. She literally tried to round it up to the nearest dollar. I told her I'd sooner pay you the 20 cents than give you an extra 80 cents.... like who does that. 5. Last but not least, the quality of my nails and their service have gone down. They barely last two weeks (acrylic nails) which is NOT ok. It's gotten so bad that the nail tech literally filed through my skin near my finger bc she put a tip on my nail that was way too wide. It's like they don't even take the time to make sure the tip fits my finger nail before gluing it on. God forbid you complain (refer to number 1)... They are also terrible at taking care of your cuticles when you have acrylic tips. They just seem to forget to take care of them. They also do not massage your hands with lotion nor are they good with massages during your pedicure. I'm They get lazy and simply want you to give them your money and leave so they can get more customers in. The prices at this place are great, which is why it's so painful for me to stop going here, but I have no choice but to go elsewhere. The quality and service are extremely poor. It's a shame for the few workers there who are decent, but I'd rather not give this place anymore time and money. read more

I gave it one star but I would have given a zero instead THEIR TECHNICIANS ARE HORRIBLE. They don't give the proper technique of manicures or pedi for that matter. Nothing, no care in cuticles or massages, cheap foot massages. The quality of the gels are crap, my nails look awful after 1 week. The don't know how to charge for anything. I found this gem of a salon when my regular spot's best workers disappeared. I came in on Memorial Day to get a new pink and white set done, and it was the best one I've ever had. I have become a regular customer. The place is very busy on the weekends, i tried to go at 11am last weekend and it was already packed! But that's a good indication that the service is great. Once you have a seat, they are quick and thorough and you will leave with beautifully manicured nails. The pedis are fantastic too, you will have fresh new feet once they are done lol. It's a bit pricier than my old salon but worth every penny. The place is clean and pretty, too. They also have a "club card" they step on each visit, and you get a discount on your (i believe) 6th visit. I highly recommend this place. read more

Horrible experience here. I came in with my friend and sister and they were attended to pretty quickly. I was kept waiting for about 2 hours (we were all getting the same thing done, tips and pedicure). When I expressed displeasure at being kept waiting so long i was just ignored. I will admit the lady who did my nails did a nice job but I accidentally messed up the paint on my nails and my friend called her attention to it. She came to fix them and I apologized for the mistake and thanked her for fixing them as she was ready to leave and she told me "No problem, it's always the last customer." Very unprofessional. Pedicure was done lazily and in a rush and when she finished she scolded me and told me not to mess my nails up. I came here because my friend told me about how much she loved this place and how much of a good job they did. I've never been treated so rudely and so unprofessionally before when going to a nail salon.
