Dr. Cheng is a happy dentist. Dr. Cheng speaks, English, Spanish, and Chinese (Mandarin). He does not speak other diagloues of chinese. Why visit this dentist when you have plenty of other dental offices in the area? I don't know. I visit this office because this dentist accepts United Concordia insurance. I am not your insurance company, so you need to visit and verfiy insurance information. I am not responsible for any wrong dental insurance information. Dr. Cheng has the most perfect bedside manners. Why people don't visit this dentist, I do not know. He performs class !! restorations, botox injections, wisdom teeth extractions, laser hair removals, oral health consults, osseous surgery, bone grafts, osteotomies, pulpotomies, indirect pulp caps, direct pulp caps, oral health education, oral cancer screenings, debridements, scaling, root planing, and prophylaxis. Count this as Zero stars. Office staff did not communicate properly and then tried to gaslight me when I held them accountable. I have a PPO and should not even need a referral, however this doctor refuses to see any patient without a referral. I only find this out when I walk in for my appointment. I asked the secretary "why didn't you inform me that I needed a referral?" and she said "well I did" when she absolutely did not. I spoke with the office manager, and the office manager said it was their policy that they had to tell everyone they had to have a referral. It was made clear that the secretary was gaslighting me because her job was in jeopardy if she had admitted to the fact that she didn't tell me I needed a referral. Also, waiting room was dirty and each patient had been waiting 2 hours just to be seen. Don't waste your time here. read more

Victoria handled my paperwork, switched my location and really went out the way to ensure everything was handled for my daughter upcoming appointment. HORRIBLE service. Office was dirty... They are now Brident Dental!!! I have Medicare and Metlife dental insurances and to start off they would not even take my metlife dental..from day one they said they dont file insurance claims on more then one insurance company. I ended up paying ALMOST 1K out of my pocket..and now trying to get it all straight!! had gone from last year 6/2023 to already 4/2024. note... My dentist was LEAVING the practice the 2nd time I went in..she couldn't deal with the way this practice was run. her words... Had an appointment on Friday, February 9, 2024. My appointment was for 2 o'clock. I arrived about 155 to find the doors locked at precisely 2 o'clock young woman came from the back and unlocked the door by that time there were actually four of us waiting to get in, obviously all four of us having 2 o'clock appointments. After checking in and filling out paperwork, I started looking around the office and I was not happy with the fact that it seemed dirty. And then when I went to use the restroom, I was astounded by the fact that a medical office would allow a restroom to get has Dirty as it was. And on top of all of it, there was no toilet paper. Perhaps I'm being silly but after that trip to the restroom, I'm looking around and seeing how the place was anything but clean I just walked on out the door and got in my car and left, there's no way I would let a dentist work on my teeth knowing that he doesn't seem to care about the front office and the first presentation made to a patient read more

If I could leave less than 1 I would. My dad got work done over 2 years ago and had a credit of over 2 thousand dollars. We've receive multiple letters saying it would take 4-8 weeks to receive a refund. We are still waiting to get refunded. They were incredibly rude when we went up there to ask for it and they never answer the phone. Honestly save your money and your time. read more

You literally have to pest them for the follow up that they promised. Went for my first visit in August, I already knew my teeth were messed up due to compacted wisdom teeth, they agreed and acted like they cared/ felt my pain and frustration; they don't show it very well! Called their emergency hotline due to excruciating pain two weeks ago and I was assured that the office would give a call back immediately when opened, still nothing after calling during business hours. Their referrals for emergency cases take forever and they only care about the money. You can feel when you're cared for and Important. This is a health facility, the customer service and operations should be better. read more

Their front desk has gotten worse over the year. I've made appointments and they have cancelled on arrival twice without notice. It's frustrating because they are so quick to call if there is even a dollar balance on your account. My husband went in due to a broken crown. He loved the dentist and the financial coordinator and recommend I go. I had been told I needed full mouth reconstruction...so I knew dentures were my only option financially. After a review the dentist agreed. He didn't try to sell me implants, or other expensive alternatives . I too really really like the dentist ( Dr. Bhakti) and the coordinator (Yolonda). However, communication is lacking. My husband and I have both had to wait for over an hour for our appointments and left. When I got my dentures and my husbands got his flapper no one communicated how to care for them. I had major oral surgery and the surgeon was surprised I wasn't given a sedative. I was very anxious as ALL my teeth were being removed. But with that said...Yolonda worked hard on helping us financially afford the extensive work needed. read more

I've been going here for a couple of years now. The first time I came the dentist seemed like a crook and offered to extract my wisdom teeth when nothing was wrong with them. I declined and he didn't push it further though. But I've never had a dentist ask me if I wanted this optional surgery on my wisdom teeth. By the second visit a new dentist was there (Dr Khan) and he seemed young but knowledgeable nonetheless, and the best part is he seemed to be honest. He did one cavity filling in the past two years and it seems to be holding up fine. The only reason I deducted a star is because of their policy on missed appointments. I was waiting for my appointment in the office but the hygienist wasn't able to make it there. They asked if I wanted to wait so I did. She came in half an hour later. But they let the person who came in after me go in for their scheduled cleaning, so as to not offset everybody's scheduled appointments for the rest of the day. That's good for everybody else but not for the person who had their appointment cancelled and was waiting in the office. They then said I could wait in the office to see if somebody cancelled later in the day but that I wasn't given priority because by the time the hygienist arrived my appointment time had already passed. I declined as I had to go to work and even if I didn't have to go to work, I wouldn't want to sit around the office all day. I guess I can understand their policy as it would screw up everybody else's appointments. But I think it's different than I've experienced at other offices. I don't know which policy is better and perhaps I shouldn't have deducted a star, as I suppose somebody has to get screwed at the end of the day. As Spock would say "the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few" or like Spock and me, the needs of "the one". Some other pros are everyone I've met so far seems pretty nice, they call you one day in advance to remind you of your appointment, they take HMO and it seems clean (especially compared to some places like that take HMO patients like Southwest Dental). Some more cons are it can be to schedule the cleaning appointment as the hygienist only works certain days, the parking lot can be hard to get out of and you can't get a cleaning without a doctor exam (actually to that last point from my observation I think most if not all dentists are doing that nowadays so perhaps it's not really a con). read more

I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. I went there because it was on my insurance. I've had 3 different dentists, and all I've ever needed was cleaning. Then, a tooth broke down to the root. I was told I'd have a choice between an implant and a bridge, but an implant was never priced or discussed again. By the time I realized I was getting a bridge, they'd sanded down 2 perfectly good teeth, and for what I was being charged, I could have had an implant. The bridge was way overpriced, and has broken TWICE. I'm getting other insurance and will go elsewhere. For cleaning, they were fine, but I wouldn't trust them with anything more than that. read more

One start is a gift....If I could give no stars or negative stars, that would better depict my feelings on this place. Let me tell you...When it comes to orthodontics, you will NOT get the "Royal Treatment" as advertised. Enter this place at your own risk! I witnessed in October, 2017 a cockroach crawl out of a drawer while my daughter was getting her monthly orthodontist check up. It scared the hygienist who ran off. The dentist had to come to the rescue to "squish" the cockroach. I have no confirmation that the area was scrubbed and sterilized. Apparently the cockroach infestation is due to the Subway that moved out of this shopping strip. They have taken up residency in the Royal Dental next door. The patient chairs are torn and tattered. There is no sense of cleanliness or sterilization at this location. I have reported what I have witnessed to the General Manager who goes by the name "Al". The cockroach report was the only time "Al" was responsive to me. I have called him numerous times to report the person he hired as the orthodontist and represents Royal Dental's "Royal Treatment". Royal Dental apparently has only 1 orthodontist who works at all the Houston locations. So appointments are only twice a month at each location. At one time it was only once a month but after many customers/patients complained (including me) "Al" convinced the orthodontist to work additional days. They clearly have an issue retaining and hiring competent orthodontists. Apparently, budget for supplies is an issue. My daughter broke a bracket. They asked if she kept the bracket as they would glue it back on. I was told they were short on supplies. I can not believe I paid for this service in full and my daughter is being asked to keep her brackets. At one point in that conversation, the hygienist admitted they are using different glue for the brackets that was not as strong as the previous glue used. If you need orthodontic work, go elsewhere. "Dr" Shunda Banks who is currently employed (apparently already turned in her notice) is completely unprofessional, condescending, incompetent and has a terrible bedside manner. She is continually tardy to report to this location by at least 25 minutes. We prefer the first appointment of the day so my daughter does not miss that much school. Each visit, we witness "Dr" Banks walking in at least 25 minutes late, carrying her Starbucks beverage. On 1/8 she was 50 minutes late. She did not call in to report her tardiness. No one in the office could get a hold of her. My daughter did not even see her. The hygienist could only change her bands. So the January appointment was a complete waste of time. The staff is well aware of the issues that exist at this location. I actually feel sorry for them. I have witness patients yelling and walking out of the office in frustration. I must call out one person in particular: Nancy. She is a gem; a champ who handles irate customers very well (including me). I enjoy dealing with her. The entire office is doing the best that they can with the lack of support from their management and "doctors". My final words for this review: I feel "Royally Screwed" by this establishment. I have paid in full for my daughters orthodontics. I am now seeking a refund for services that have yet to be rendered. read more

I went to Royal Dental with a dental emergency. They worked me in on Monday (without an appointment) and fixed the problem later that day. The dentist was personable and professional and provided a quick solution to a painful problem. There was no attempt to upcharge me or add needless procedures. They did a great job! read more

I called Royal Dental on the morning of February 22, 2016 and asked if I could get an appointment. I explained to the receptionist who answered that phone, that I had an emergency, i.e. my crown had fallen out and I was in extreme pain. I told her I had called my insurance company and they recommended me to them and said there was no reason Royal Dental couldn't take me as an emergency and new patient. She stated the only available appointment she could give me was on March 7. I told her that was two weeks away!!! and I needed help before then. She stated that was the only thing she could do for me. I told "don't you think by then I will have an infection in my tooth?" She said probably so, but even if you have an emergency you still need an appointment and that's the only day I have for you, two weeks from today!!! I hung up the phone and called 4 other dental offices and they were able to give me an appointment for the next morning. I cannot believe the dentists in Royal Dental have this MORON, running the front desk and the FIRST initial contact a patient have will be with her!!! She was rude, nasty and very unprofessional and can be deemed as "special". If her ignorant and arrogance attitude is the representation for any of the dentists working in this place I am glad I did not get an appointment!! Later on I had a friend called and asked for an appointment for just a consultation and they given an appointment for March 1. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!! read more
