They didn't have the Stone Lain Stella Porcelain Round Dinner Plates I planned on checking out during my visit but they did have the pink heart plate, which I promptly noped out of when I saw how glitzy it was. The location has limited selection and in my opinion is only worth a drop in if you're in the area and a fan of Sur La Table. Personally I like the Williams Sonoma vibe and style more, so I likely won't be back.

I happened to have been present on the day of this conflict and it lives in my memory as one of the creepiest and most uncomfortable retail interactions I've ever witnessed. Alan was rude, patronizing and deeply inappropriate as he attempted to intimidate the store manager, who held her own with impressive grace and strength. There were several customers in the shop that night, and it seemed that most were unwilling to leave until we knew that the manager and her staff were safe. We were relieved when security arrived. Outback is a clothing store which sells very unique clothing designs with original fabrics. I actually shopped at the store back in the 1980s when it was located on Sacramento St near Dwight Way in Berkeley. I bought a coat from them that lstter for years. So this place has been around for decades. (I think at one point they moved to 10th St need Gilman in Berkeley.) I found a beautiful cashmere scarf, for a reasonable price, for my daughter who lives on the East coast. She received it and commented on how soft it was. The saleswoman was super friendly. We had a nice conversation. (A different saleswoman last year was also nice and pleasant.). The clothing can be on the pricey side for my budget. But if you are looking for a piece of clothing that no one else has, this is the place to visit. I really should go back and treat myself!

I loved being able to donate 5 old shirts and get $25 off. Amazing concept to prevent waste. Unfortunately, they switched up the Re-Spun program. Now you have to pay $22 to fill a bag of clothes to get a $40 code (so you basically get $18 only) that you're not able to reuse if your item doesn't fit and you need to exchange or return it. I had an interaction with a super rude Berkeley sales associate who hadn't even heard of Re-Spun...really?!! Why work for a company whose recycling program you don't understand? Kinda sad.
