I came here for dinner. I was craving for Chinese, so I didn't get a chance to enjoy it but it was fulfilling. We were asked many times to alter our dishes because they didn't have certain ingredients. Complimentary radish and peanuts - the radish was so salty and sour. Viet Spring rolls - 2? Seriously?? Seafood Cripsy Chao Mein - no one can mess this dish up. Vegetables and meat. Lobster - they actually help you pick out the meat from the shell - I was happy about it. At least they acknowledged the empty teapot after I asked 2 waiters.

Well presented Miniture food! Every thing with pork tasted superb! (roast pork dumbling, pork with crispy pastry yum yum) Dersert was glorious (mango heart shaped dersert plus egg custurd tart.) Customer service was indifferent! If you are looking for a serious heavy duty munch, Dim Sum is not the one. If you are looking for a light delicious meal to tantilize your taste buds thats not heavy duty, Dim Sum is the one.

Awesome! Greatest Chinese restaurant I have visited so far. Taste was really brilliant and profound I felt. In terms of service, I was forced to rush gradually as overall getting busier.

Review for dim sum only. In 1999, I came to London after spending two months in France. I was craving Chinese food "from back home" (read: dim sum and Cantonese cuisine). I asked to be taken to the best dim sum restaurant in London and I ended up at Royal China on Queensway. I remember the food as being very good and comparable to dim sum in San Francisco. Fast forward ten years. I went to Royal China for lunch today. The dim sum here has held up very well. I've had dim sum in several London Chinatown restaurants in the past ten years, but RC's quality is far superior. Pork dumplings in chili sauce, roast pork cheung fun (BBQ pork rice noodle rolls to San Franciscan dim sum eaters), beef dumplings (steamed beef meatballs to San Franciscans), crispy spring rolls, chicken feet and pork spareribs steamed rice, and a pot of pu-erh tea set me back £20.70 (including VAT and service). Yes, you pay for the quality here.

Royal China is dim sum central. Craving dim sum, I found my way here, surrounded by bustling chinese waiters and waitresses, a packed dining room, a busy atmosphere and elegant black and gold decor. The prawn dim sum, prawn cheung fun, and fried prawn dumplings with coriander were good. The scallop dim sum was just okay and the vegetarian one was not good. The black mushroom with braised noodles I ordered were pretty terrible and doused in a very unappetising sauce. The menu is very authentic but that meant for me that there were very limited choices of dim sum (I don't eat pork) because there wasn't any chicken or beef dim sum, only prawn or vegetarian. The service here is also very slow, as we asked for soy sauce for our dim sum, but none had arrived. We then tried to catch someone else's eye to ask for it, but that took ages as every waiter/waitress seemed intent on ignoring us. The food did arrive quickly though and piping hot. I had an okay time here, and even though our menu was more miss than hit, I might try coming back for the non-dim sum menu (other than those noodles) sometime.

Came here with relatives last September 2013 during my first visit to London. I must say, what a surprise. Upon arrival, we were seated promptly, and the staff was friendly. There were 4 of us dining together and we ended up ordering a good amount of food. We ordered a variety of dishes...the food came out in a timely manner. I had a taste of the seafood soup, peking duck, pork buns, seafood fried noodles, and a variety of dim sum. It was all delicious! There were only a few other groups dining among us. The atmosphere was very relaxed and enjoyable. This was a great place to go with my family and travel buddy!

I only discovered this place when I tried to have lunch at Hung Tao across the road only to be told that they were only serving a limited menu and to go across the road to their new restaurant. That is interesting in that Hung Tao has the atmosphere of a locals' cheap diner whereas Dim Sum Diner is probably aiming at a slightly more upmarket clientele with fresh clean tiles and primary colours though they do have canteen style bench seating Despite its name, the restaurant was only displaying the conventional menu on on the window outside, listing dishes as "Hung Tao @ Dim Sum Diner". Not sure if they're hedging their bets on the new venture However, nice to see that dim sum was available inside, otherwise the name would have been a bit redundant! The usual dim sum favourites are available though with some of them being given a novel twist. For example, the roast pork puffs are in a cylindrical shape rather than the usual triangles. I think this place is trying hard but is struggling to find its identity at the moment. I sense it's caught between wanting to be a traditional Chinese restaurant and a trendy dim sum joint. The food has potential but they have to make their minds up. My first tip would be to put a dim sum menu up in the window if your restaurant is named the Dim Sum Diner

With its red walls and pop art on the walls, it's a hip, cheerful place where you can select from a range of good quality dim sum and small Asian dishes as well as a couple of diner favourites made in a dim sum style (i.e. mini!) The Guinness crab meat dumpling was really lovely a house specialty, and the barbecued pork puff rolls were as nice if not better than the usual pork puffs you get in most other dim sum places. There are other more traditional offerings too. And the small dishes from noodles to rice dishes are pretty good value. The pricing is easy all dishes are £3.80 except sides which are £2.50. You can get in and out of there spending around £10-15 and leave pretty satisfied. It still in it's soft opening phase but I'll be back! I would highly recommend this place if you're looking for a fun, casual meal with mates. Go, go, go!!

We were looking to get some pre-dinner drinks at the Westfield and luckily found two spots at the small bar here, as the entirety of the restaurant was filled to the brim with diners. After warming up with a Hibiscus Spritz (hibiscus flower in an ice cube!) and Long Island Iced Tea, the bartenders recommended the Singapore Sling, so we got a pair of those, and Ciroc shots to close. If it were any other time, we might have tried the food, but the efficiency and friendliness of all the bartenders were enough of a good experience to keep Ping Pong in mind for a future visit.

We walked in around 11:30 AM on a Thursday and it was pretty empty (as expected). We were seated and given menus almost immediately. They have a variety of options as well as set menus so it took a bit of time for me to figure out what I wanted. My husband got the spicy vegetable dumplings, Sichuan chili oil vegetable dumping, tofu and miso soup as well as the spicy seitan and vegetable dumpling. I had the spicy seitan and vegetable dumpling, prawn and chives dumpling, orange and chicken dumpling and the potato and edamame pancakes. All the dumpling orders came in 3 dumplings. So 1 order is perfect for a person especially if you want to try a few dumplings. I LOVED the potato and edamame pancake. It was crispy on the outside, soft in the inside and the ginger sauce that came with it was the perfect compliment. The prawn dumpling was excellent but I didn't really care for the chicken and orange dumpling. It was a very strange taste that was not really orange but not sure what it was. The seitan was good but not as chewy as seitan usually is. Because if that, it was very mushy. My husband enjoyed his dumplings a lot but for both of us, they were a little too soft which ended up a bit mushy. Overall, recommend the place and will be back next time in our trip!

Prices are definitely a bit high for the portions. However, the food was really delicious, and it's hard to pick just one or two dishes that were the best. The pumpkin and mouli dumpling is unique and scrumptious for being a gourd. We also really liked the chicken and black truffle shui mai as well as sichuan style dumplings. For hot dishes, get the duck spring roll, black sesame prawn toast, and Singapore vermicelli with prawn and egg. (The people in the kitchen were speaking Chinese, so that's definitely a good sign, in my opinion!) Unfortunately, most of the dishes come with just three portions, so it's tough to share with 4 people, especially when all the dishes are so good. Oh, and how can I forget my Monkey Jump Over the Moon cocktail. It was definitely tropical and the largest volume - biggest bang for your buck when you're spending money on dim sum!
