OH MY GOODNESS Oh how I have missed GOOD and AUTHENTIC Chinese food It was well worth the wait in the cold I think the best deal was the vegetable dumplings in soup. The soup was nothing BUT there were so many delicious vegetable dumplings. Great selection. We came here as soon as it was opening as there was ALREADY a line. That had me thinking that maybe this place was a tourist trap but a lot of locals were in line too! After trying the fofood it makes sense why the line was forming prior to it opening for the day. The food was sooo yummy. I would definitely come back. Don't let the crowds outside deceive you. Everything ordered had zero taste. Tom Yom soup- bland. I asked if they had hot chili pepper to add to the soup, and made the mistake of not saying chili oil, so the waitress said no, they don't have that. Thought maybe it was an English thing, until I saw little dishes of it on other tables. Dim Sum was tasteless Garlic Shrimp was actually shrimp in white sauce with way too many chopped onions. Well well well!!! Definate a good spot to visit if you are Chinatown London. It is a nice cozy place. It has a downstairs and upstairs. As you walk in, you get the full experience of traditional dumpling place. The menu was very big and they covered a wide range of traditional chinese food. The food was very good, loved it. This was a great choice. We had a large party of people and they took care of us. Drinks and steamed dumplings were a good fit. We sat outside along the walkway and although it was cold was bearable. Ran into this restaurant by accident walking around London Chinatown. This one is not on the main drag but it's a great place to get Chinese dumplings and preened good Chinese dishes. Ladies make dumplings fresh by the window next entrance. We had to wait in line, but were quickly seated. Plenty of seatings to accommodate customers. Fast service and friendly. Great dumplings and XLB in London! We went here for dinner before our theatre experience and the food was prepared super quickly. We were in and out in 45 minutes and didn't miss a beat for our showing. The XLB was very different than I was used to. The skin was thick and the inside was super meaty. This spot features the massive soup dumpling that's drunk through a straw but they only make a few per day so be sure to claim yours early! Food is pretty good for a reasonable price. Nothing was super mind blowing (especially the dumplings) but they weren't bad. There tends to be a wait to dine in at this location and they have other classics such as dimsum options. read more

Another food organization listed this as highly rated and amongst the hundreds of choices in Chinatown well worth the visit. I suggest going early as seating is limited. I'm a beginner when it comes to being in an authentic location and the variety of dumplings and attributes had my head spinning. A menu sheet much like a sushi restaurant I decided to start light. My order with hot and sour soup included shrimp. I also ordered a few of the pan fried dumpling as well as a -/4 crispy duck, all excellent. This restaurant obviously known for its dumplings as almost every table had them. It was a bit of a walk from my hotel but I would walk the city to visit again. I ordered crab & pork xiao long bao, fiery dumplings soup and honey garlic ribs and my friend ordered shredded beef in basket and egg fried rice. The xiao long bao was quite dry to me and went cold within 5mins. The fiery dumpling was bland and the soup broth mainly tasted like spring onions. My friend said her food lacked flavour and tasted too "fresh" like that ingredients hasn't had time to mix together to pickup the aromatics. Overall, the food and service were good. I didn't have a negative experience, but it wasn't anything to write home about either (not to say the food was bad). In fact, I quite enjoyed my lunch in London very much. Coming from a Chinese family who eats homemade meals every night, I can safely say this restaurant would be a nice place to stop by for a meal if you don't feel like cooking, but not particularly phenomenal or nostalgic like my grandfather's recipes. First, we had gotten the xia long bao, which to be honest, were not my favorite part of the meal. The issue with xia long bao is that there are many other places with really good soup dumplings that it is either a hit or a miss. However, they were decent and plenty delicious. We had also gotten Mapo Tofu. It is one of my favorite tofu dishes, but it is often made wrong. Props to Beijing Dumpling House for making it how it is supposed to be made. They did not make it corn starchy or disgustingly goopy, which I greatly appreciated. However, I would personally add a bit more of a bold flavor to it. In my opinion, Mapo Tofu needs an extra kick to really put it over the top. I am not a spice or meat fanatic by any means, but this dish really does benefit from it. However, at the same time, Beijing Dumpling House's take on the dish is vegetarian friendly and doesn't leave you with an oily throat, so I give it my seal of approval nonetheless. I found it tasty!!! We had also gotten a chicken dish which was pretty good, as well. I do wish we had ordered the Beijing duck dish, though. I absolutely adore Beijing duck and the table next to us ordered it. It looked so good, but I was already full of tofu. Maybe next time? It's a lot better than the Asian food where I live in Florida, though, certainly. I wish there were more places like this that cook how the food was meant to be made over here! Everything about this place is five stars, except that at 9pm on. Friday night they are sold out of dumplings. Literally it's a dumpling place that's open late, but with no dumplings. Now that my vent is out of the way, these are hands down the best Xiao Long Bao (soup dumpling) artists in London. Amazing and just in time. I had accidentally posted a review to this business by mistake. The one I had stated, "buyer beware" was for Jen's Cafe not this restaurant who clearly knows exactly what they are doing. The wait was totally worth the food that greeted us. The only disappointment was that our vegetarian friend didn't get any seafood dumplings because they ran out. We ordered braised tofu with mushrooms, braised beans, spicy salt shrimp (no shell!), szechuan shrimp, spicy salt pork chops, seafood dry noodle, broccoli garlic, and 2 things of pork xiao long bao and 2 things of pan seared pork dumplings. AH-mazing! Everything was super flavorful. I could eat the tofu for days on end, so much flavor, you wouldn't know that it was a vegetarian dish. The xiao long bao was beautifully steamed. Only complaint is that they're rather smaller than what we usually get in L.A. The pan-seared dumplings had a crispy, chewy outside and flavor-blasted filling. Would definitely return to try other things on the menu! BTW, the price for an almost Michelin rated restaurant is cheaper that what we pay for a Chinese seafood restaurant bill in Los Angeles. The Soup Dumplings here are amazing! And I feel like I'm qualified to say that they are some of the best Soup Dumplings in the world, as I've eating them in Shanghai, where they originated, and at Din Tai Fung in Taiwan, which is Michelin starred. The meat filling is succulent, the broth is the perfect amount of salty and the doughy wrapper nice and thin. Both the Hot and Sour and Seafood Tofu Soups were excellent. And my father said that the Beef Hor Fun was wok-fried to perfection and one of the best he's ever had. Or, in this case, a bamboo steaming tray... ... because -of course- we scored some xiao long bao. I mean... I don't remember the last time I had some. And especially ones that made me go 'Nom!' Meanwhile, the dan dan noodles were savoury and spicy, but not of the Szechuan peppercorn variety. Same situation on the mapo tofu. It's unclear whether or not these dishes have been toned down for the British palate, but they differed from the numbing delightfulness I'm used to. We were here on Saturday. I can't get thee tom yum with prawns soup out of my mind. It was superb & a great cure for jet lag. We were first in line & it filled up fast. You order off of a strip of paper (like sushi bars) service was quick and portions were large. I also had an order of fried pork dumplings and was plenty full. We enjoyed a tsing tao beer & a bottle of warm sake. The ambience was nice, very clean restrooms & they played ethnic music. That's a must for me! (I hate going too restaurants that play obnoxious pop music!) we met a French man while we were waiting who has lived in London 10 years and has been on a quest for the best dumplings, & this is the place!
