Very nice elegant dimly lit ambiance, the red cieling lanterns is what gives it a nice touch. Good for celebratory occasions, but food seems to be hit or miss. Prices reflected accordingly to being a hotel restaurant and thus higher than the standard high street Chinese food. Part of the Dorsett hotel outside Shepard's bush Green. Four stars is for the appetizer and general ambiance. The Lychee mojito with fresh lychee was a refreshing drink, but somewhat pricey given it's non-alcoholic. The sesame prawn on toast was the highlight of the meal, the best of its kind. The hot & sour seafood soup was quite good, a brown color rather than the red style that you sometimes see. Not that much seafood though. This part seems to be a trend here. Because the Seafood fried rice with black truffle sauce didn't have much seafood at all. Very small pieces of chopped shrimp, that way you have no clue how many shrimp they have given you. Then only a few small pieces of white fish. The egg tasted freshly cooked. Overall tasty but I need more seafood than this. The black truffle was spread out specks in the rice, it was not a sauce as advertised. Not really what I pictured at all. The Singapore noodles looks very nicely presented and with 8-9 large shrimp for £10 seems like a bargain, but it's very oily and no spice at all. And then the dish wasn't warm enough. It's too bad because it's a very nice place for dinner and the staff are quite good too. Ended the meal with Green tea creme brulee. The green tea is like a paste and not too sweet, the way I like it. I'm getting more and more keen on green tea desserts, maybe its an acquired taste for some. They also have black sesame ice cream which sounds interesting.

This is some really good Chinese food. I would def recommend to anyone looking for Asian food in the area. The staff seem moody but it's very on point and the service generally is great. The sweet and sour chicken is amazing and really stands out as a winner. Garlic lobster is unreal and highly recommended. I don't know how they cook the rice or what they add too it but it's crazy good! Enjoy

Fantastic food - flavors, ingredients, presentation. Plenty of vegetarian options too. Ambience is calm and cozy, service efficient. We loved our time there and will definitely come back.

Amazing food and wonderful service! Roast duck is so authentic and tasty! Pork belly is a little disappointing, so over cooked, although it looks nice and authentic. Dimsum is less authentic but okay, better than the Chinatown ones. Definitely worth going! The service is perfect.

I'll start by saying that we arrived five minutes prior to opening so we didn't experience some of the poor/undermanned service mentioned in previous reviews. It was only us and one or two other families...as a result, I found the staff to be attentive and helpful. We ordered dim sum, sweet and sour chicken, pork belly, chicken lettuce wraps and egg fried rice. It was all delicious. The sweet and sour chicken had fresh lychee, pomegranate and melon instead of your typical pineapple. It was amazing. Everything else was fresh and what I would expect from this style food and restaurant. This restaurant was connected to the hotel we were staying at so we ended up ordering take out a few days later...(I got the sweet and sour chicken again). The dress is casual and the pricing is reasonable. I definitely recommend.

Great restaurant in hotel Dorset. Foods overall is nice a good quality. Having dim sum there but if the portion is a bit smaller. Ended up having three kind of difference noodles to fill our stomach. Nice atmosphere and decoration. If they do some promotion, I would go again, otherwise it is too pricey.

By far the BEST CHINESE FOOD IVE EVER HAD! I loved the Shanghai Xiao long bao considering I lived in china for 2 years this was amazing! we ordered the duck rolls and you can taste the freshness of the duck, we got mains and got sweet and sour chicken, pork belly and beef, along with jasmine rice and for drinks we got the tasty strawberry and vanilla iced tea! The beef just melts in your mouth with amazing flavours, the food was just amazing and I can't say how much I appreciated the good food, I think this might have been the best place I have visited! I would love to go again! Total bill £80

Nice and quiet ambiance. Good service. Food is a little oily, but tasted good. Would like to try the dim sum next time.

Bompas & Parr Beyond the Waterfall

Bompas & Parr Beyond the Waterfall

A magical experience right from the start…read more You step through the doors of Bompas & Parr and you enter the magical world where you are greeted upon arrival by some mermaids who set you off on your journey by giving you a bag with two shell tokens to spend on two cocktails. You then walk through the tunnel to the mystical lake where you then are set on your journey onto a rowing boat through the alcholic fog. If you can't row like me then you might get a bit stuck and consume too much of the fog, in cases like these one of the boat men may have to come and rescue you by steering you in the right direction. There are two ways that you can go to carry on with your journey either under the waterfall and get wet or the dry route. However before doing so you are greeted by another boat person and you will have to present them one of your shell tokens which you will then be given an alcholic drink in a small Alice in Wonderland type bottle, if you shake it you will see gold flowing through the drink as this is of course magical mermaid liquid after all. Once you have chosen your path be it the dry or the wet route you are then greeted by a mystical man who will then explain about the magical stones that you get to choose and you get to keep. Then he will order you to say some some magical words and take a swig of your mermaid drink before carrying on with your journey. You then enter into the bar area where you are greeted by an eccentric and glamourous man with sparkles on his face and he will explain about the mermen which you can see around you. One can read your horoscope, one can do tarot reading and the other loves playing music and being flirted with. I had to rub down the flirty mermans tail and lets just say he got a bit over excited. The merman that would read horoscopes got me spot on in how I am and the tarot reader found my way of shuffling a interesting and odd one he said I will come into some money so lets hope that is true as he did not get my past right. You now can just chill in the bar area and take your time whilst you admire the entertainment provided by the glamourous man that owns the mermen. Don't forget to use your last shell token on a cocktial in the bar area as if you leave the bar you will be exiting the event. There are quite a few cocktails to choose from. Only one dissapointment and that was I would of liked to of seen some more mermaids in the bar area as I only saw two at the start and they were not wearing a fish tail like the mermen. I would highly recommend though especially if you love immersive events and alcholic cocktails so if this is you then catch it before this event magically disappears.

It was 5pm on a Thursday afternoon. I felt like I'd slipped between two worlds of people being at…read morework and those still travelling home. Nobody was in The Gallery but me. So I sat back and made myself comfortable. Aesthetically the place is beautiful. There is a long shotgun bar, a huge seating/roaming area, and a decent cocktail menu to keep me interested. The decor is a mix of light wood and chrome, with the odd plasma screen showing football. The bartender and I got chatting as he made me a cocktail off the menu. It was a martini but he offered to make it long on the rocks for me to suit my manly appearance. Tee hee! I could see he wasn't happy with the balance, making the concoction several times. For keeping me waiting he refused payment. Nice touch! The cocktail was still good. I decided to ask to be shown around. There is a club and restaurant on site. The restaurant is very suave and endearing in a classic way. As you walk up to the club you can't help but notice the opulence of the artwork and interior design. The club itself is a simple hall with a VIP room off to the side and another bar. Taken as a whole The Gallery is an impressive building and this helps distract from its problem. Who goes partying in Hendon? There isn't much else in the area to draw in London's socialites and it is known that the locals aren't the most chic group in the city. To battle this, new staff and management have been brought in to give The Gallery the right vibe. I enjoyed my quiet cocktail, time will tell whether I enjoy the clientèle.

The food was absolutely fabulous-preparedby the award winning chef Stephen Englefield. The menus are very innovative, regularly reviewed with an insistence on fresh ingredients. The Crab-on-Confit of Leek and Potato, followed by braised Cumbrian Lamb shoulder with a Champagne and Lamb sauce was just perfect.
