You'll be surprised how nice it is not even knowing that the HVAC is operating other than the airflow you sense from the registers. We opted for a heat exchanger, and I was very surprised that it occupies about 1/3 of the area the previous system's compressor did. You literally have to look at the fan spinning to know if it's on or not, it's so quiet. After three days, the work was finished and the guys left no evidence they'd even been there. We had contacted a local company and, while the quote and scope seemed adequate, the plan for condenser placement was not great and I had sticker shock. So I went to YELP and found JL Martin. I am so glad I did! Jared toured the home, and came up with a great plan for a new system and was able to come in around 3K less that the previous company. I appreciated the 'out of box' thinking! This included working with the city permit process as well. The biggest hold up was actually the city acknowledging and passing the plan. Once that happened the JL Martin team scheduled quickly and the install was completed in under a day. The install team was incredibly respectful, explained everything that they were doing, and took great pains to be as unobtrusive as possible. What the heck. Go down to the vent and measure the difference versus making holes in the new vents. He blew a fuse on the unit and had to get it new one He dirtied and damaged the paint on the ceiling. To clean the condenser, he just used a blower. Other companies wash it down. In summary, the tech made more damage than even helped.

He explained all they do with the "family plan" so we signed up. I am one of those that needs to be reminded of scheduled upkeep so this is perfect.
