in October I went to him. due to my issue, I was told by every dermatologist and surgeon that surgery was the only option and could possibly leave me disformed. I had pain and lumps on my face for years from the silicone 1000. Dr. Roy geronemus was able to remove the silicone on my face without surgery using the Ellacor machine. the pain and the lumps are now gone all because of him! he is the only doctor I found that was able to use this machine to remove parts of the silicone! I highly recommend him. i wouldn't trust another doctor out there. RUN don't WALK to use him!!! read more

I didn't have a good experience with that office, the doctor is nice however I wasn't happy with the result and came back, they offer to put some more fillers for me, but to charge me extra 750$,and that's after they charge 500$ for non refundable consolation and 750$ for the treatment. I went to see Dr Geronemus and I was so excited to go since just making an appointment was a big step. Tried to make conversation with him... it was impossible. No warm welcome, not even a hello. It was very odd as I never experienced anything like this. They must charge the exorbitant amount of money because once you meet him you won't go back. I had my friend in the room with me and she felt the same way. I now have almost $500.00 invested and I want my deposit / consultation fee reimbursed. Met with Dr. G yesterday for my son who got stitches on his forehead to inquire about Laser Treatment. Had a 2pm appointment and staff took us in right away. Dr. G was very patient with my son and gave us a lot of information and explanation on treatment options. He was very pleasant and informative. We decided to go ahead with laser treatment and will be back in a month to follow up. It was truly an amazing experience. I have seen Dr. Geronemus twice. He was referred to me by my dermatologist after I had severe scarring from facial shingles. He was very attentive and knowledgeable and was able to evaluate me, suggest a protocol and perform the various treatments we agreed upon on my first visit. From the time I arrived at the office until I left I was there less than an hour. Something I have never experienced at a doctor's office in NYC. I have brown skin and discoloration on my forehead and I've been self conscious about it for over 2 decades. No other dermatologist was willing to touch it as most lasers don't work on brown skin- finally one dermatologist who wasn't willing to treat me suggested Dr Roy Geronemus - of course reading some of these reviews made me apprehensive - the curt bedside manner etc but I took a chance and I'm really glad I did. My experience has been nothing but wonderful. Dr Geronemus has consistently been kind, patient, more than fair regarding pricing and incredibly competent in treating my discoloration. I met this doctor approximately 8 years ago. As many of the reviews note, he is quite the 2 second doctor with a combination of an attitude. I elected to have care provided by other doctors in his office versus him because I just thought the guy was a total ass####. What's important to state is that lots of doctors train at his facility but few ever stay there long term. There are a few, but the reviews of the core of physicians who are his regulars are not all that great. And, as you will note, there are countless money issues with this practice. I also hate the idea that the lay staff dresses in black. I'm not going to a funeral, I'm going to a doctors office where the staff should be dressed in bright colors to reflect a bright and happy environment. read more

In this field, you will meet with doctors that genuinely want to help and unfortunately, you will also meet with other cosmetic providers that are there to take your money. In this case, I experienced the latter of the two. I went in for a pricey consultation of $450, believing that Dr. Geronemus was the most prominent in the field of lasers. The consultation with him was extremely brief (5-10 minutes if that.) He leaves you with the coordinator to discuss the type of lasers available which I feel is something that he should've been discussing being that he's the one that administers them. When I expressed my concern about the very brief "discussion" with the doctor, the receptionist at the front desk explained that the consult fee would go towards the procedure. I partook in treatment because I didn't want to feel that I wasted $450 and allowed him to perform a laser on my forehead and a laser of a different type on a scar I had on my body. I asked questions as to the type of laser he used and he left his assistant to answer my questions as if he had other things to do. He didn't clean the area prior to lasering it so he ablated my "makeup". I've never had a doctor treat an area without wiping or removing any impurities. Post procedure I wasn't confident in the treatment rendered so I sought a second and third opinions. In both cases, the those doctors told me that the laser that were used may not have been effective because I have too much pigment and that either nothing would happen, or the laser that was used could potentially make the area even darker. That was exactly what happened. The area that was laser on my face didn't change at all and the scar in my body worsened with pigment. I feel that this was simply rendered to take my money and just to say that he lasered the area. I believe he just used a laser that he thought probably wouldn't damage my skin, but probably wouldn't be effective either. In this instance, I don't feel that he rendered the best care. I am actually going to another medical provider tomorrow to fix the area that this doctor lasered that made the pigmentation twice as dark on my body. Total waste of money and disregard for genuinely wanting to take care of the problem. Not the best procedure, medical advise or experience. I wouldn't recommend him. read more

I started treatment for my 15 month old daughter in May 2022. The office is very clean and staff kind, empathetic and professional. I have never had to wait more than 10 minutes to go into a private room. After the initial consultation with Dr. Geronemus, I didn't realize he is the actual Doctor to perform every session as I had assumed one of his associates would be doing some of the work. Today I went to my 6th session and Dr. Geronemus was there and has been there every step of the way. He asks at the beginning of the appointment how she is doing and how she is healing after the laser. The results seem to be different for every patient. We have seen definite improvement although it is very gradual for now. We knew from the beginning that for our particular case would be at least 20 sessions. We were informed this at the consultation even before committing to the program. I am very grateful to this center and Dr. Geronemus as many laser centers will not treat babies as they are inexperienced or do not have the equipment. This place definitely has an infinite amount of experience with infants, babies and toddlers and I am lucky to have them within driving distance from NJ. read more

Paid an exorbitant amount for a consult - he came in with an assistant, brushed off my concerns, was extremely rude and condescending. Even the assistant, I could tell, was taken back. He spent less then 5 minutes, let the assistant write a list of procedures- no explanation or concern on his part. The assistant was nice but I would never return especially at the prices charged for no service whatsoever. If your famous or a long time patient I'm sure his attitude must be better. read more

if you want a hit & run type of doctor - this is the office to go to. Although I had Oxford insurance - the doctor who saw me in the office does not take Oxford -which i wasn't told on the phone. Apparently some of the MDs do -others don't. She came in for about 2 minutes - told me what is covered under my insurance and left. The assistant put some pamphlets about the services they offer on a chair and left. $400 later - I was so flabbergasted about what just happened - I left the office. I have been seeing Dr. Geronemus for years and the results are amazing. I went in with bad filler, sun damage, sebaceous hyperplasia and rosacea. Today I look like my younger self but with better skin and a more symmetrical face. He has a long term approach that works. I've experienced a subtle natural change and gone are the obvious fillers other doctors injected to give "instant" but unnatural results. He has used Fraxel repair, fraxel dual, and a combination of lasers to transform my skin. No one can tell I still use fillers- they are so expertly placed. Went to Dr. Geromenus for a small scar I have on my knee. He came into the room really abruptly, as if he was in a real hurry to go somewhere else. He didn't introduce himself. I had to ask him myself just to be sure. He brought in a medical student with him which made me very uncomfortable. I showed him the scar and asked what kind of treatment he would recommend. He told me that nothing would work on me. Then he left. He spend no more than 5 minutes with me. He left very quickly, as if he had somewhere more important to be. The medical student gave me an uncomfortable smile. As if he knew I wasn't treated right. I paid $250 for the "consultation". He should be ashamed to treat patients like this. read more

My granddaughter was born with a birthmark on her face, her eye, nose and lip. I took her to Dr. Geronemus when she was only one week of age and he treated her. The treatment was very quick and my granddaughter didn't seem to be bothered by the treatment. She cried for a second and then she was fine. We returned to Dr. Geronemus 4 weeks later for a second treatment and just one week following her birthmark is completely gone. This was one of the worst experiences I have ever had with a physician. My consult was lightning fast and the laser treatment he recommended to treat my broken blood vessels was even faster. He was in such a hurry to do my treatment that he missed half of the vessels that needed to be zapped. When he was done, he walked out of the room without ever saying a word. I was in shock. After wasting close to $1000.00 on that useless treatment, I had to have it redone by a different physician some place else. The difference in the amount of time this doctor took to assess my skin, and then to properly administer the correct laser treatment was immense. And his treatment was less espensive! I was by Dr. geronimous in February 2015, I made an appointment with him for tattoo removal. hospitality and kindness quite right. I was called into a room where I find a woman who makes me the usual questions. the type where I have to remove the tattoo? after about 10 minutes of waiting enters another nurse who begins to take pictures on my tattoo removed. still waiting for 10 minutes and finally enters the doctor after a brief presentation goes away. I wait another 15 minutes in the room and enters a lady carrying it with all prices of what I spend. the price starts at $ 1,200 per session for only two inch tattoo, a 5-minute laser session, for a total of 6/7 sessions, then more $ 7,000 for removal. what ?????????? no insurance that covers, obvious. then convinced the woman accountant not to lose my money consultation $ 450.00 just to talk, and the accountant tells me I can start with the laser to 1inch, 2 minutes (450.00) all this really absurd. enters nurse that makes me about 20 syringes of anesthesia on an inch of tattoo (pain) then enters the doctor after about half an hour to start to remove the tattoo about 2min. a whole day just to tell me of $ 1.200.00 per session for 5 minutes without even give an inch laser removal more. would not recommend it. not recommend. read more

Laser treatment of a brown spot takes about 4-5 min. The doctor told me to come back after it heals, if there's any leftover. Part of the spot was still there after it healed in a few weeks, so I returned, treated it again, and ... was billed again (i.e. $600 twice). And part of the spot is still there... Cannot in good faith recommend Dr. Geronemus for cosmetic procedures. read more
