What can I say other than, Dr. Gary Goldenberg is the best dermatologist I've had the pleasure of dealing with, and I'm confident in saying probably the best in NYC. His bedside manner is top-notch, so kind, and informative. He was to the point and honest with his answers to my questions, but delivered the info with a sense of ease and gentleness. Made me feel very comfortable that I was in good hands from the first moment we interacted. I came in for the removal of some skin tags around and on my neck, and it was so quick and painless, I didn't even notice he was doing anything. I haven't had any procedures with his wife, but from what I've read in the other reviews it seems like she might be even nicer than him (not sure how that's possible) and equally skilled. In the future I know if I need to come back for anything Im good to go with either of them Beyond that, the office is very nice and elegant, made me feel comfortable and at ease. I don't know how to say this without sounding superficial, but there is always something refreshing to me when I walk into a Dr or Dentist's office and I see modern and/or new equipment and technology, I felt that at the Goldenberg's space. The lady working the front desk was friendly and everything was so quick and easy. I was In and out in probably less than 45 minutes. Glad I found them and I would highly recommend for all your Dermo needs. Dr. Gary Goldenberg has been my dermatologist for so long that I can't count the years. He has taken me through various bouts of skin cancer - personally calling me with the results - both good and bad. I've thought of him as an excellent dermatopathologist more than a doctor who also did cosmetic procedures. Last month, after visiting his new office, I discovered the hidden part of Dr. Goldenberg. I've had sunspots - aka ugly brown marks - all over my face for as long as I can remember. I've always dreamed of having them removed and even had a couple of them worked on - to no avail. Thanks to my good friend who is also a patient of his, I got the courage to ask Dr. Goldenberg see what he could do for me. The first treatment was pretty amazing and I was extremely pleased! When I went back for my second treatment, Dr. Goldenberg did even more! He went out of his way to make certain that every spot was treated and assured me that I was going to turn out better than I could imagine. He spent more time with me than I would ever have expected and kept asking me if I was ok. And then...he called me the next day to see how I was doing. He asked me to call him if I needed anything or had any concerns. I'm sure anyone reading this review will agree that very few doctors call their patients to check on them. In fact, the only thing I needed was time...time to heal and time to discover a spot free face and I'm almost there! Dr. Goldenberg's office is beautiful and a pleasure to visit; it's spotless, exquisitely appointed, with coffee and other little treats awaiting...a really pleasant atmosphere to greet patients - along with well trained staff managing every situation. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING PLACE!! Best dermatologist EVER!!! Dr. Kristina Goldenberg is absolutely fantastic! She is so helpful and caring it is extraordinary. Super professional, and even better, she is genuinely an amazing human being. She is board certified by the American Board of Dermatolog. I had hyperpigmentation, male pattern baldness, a lot of razor bumps from shaving, oily forehead, dry skin by my nose and a cyst at the back of my head. I had over 12 questions written down and she answered them all and took the time to explain to me how to deal with each problem.The entire staff at the front desk are so warm and welcoming it is out of this world! Dr.Goldenberg is a nice guy but he prescribed me Seysara which is a Tetracycline. I was not properly warned about the side effects I started taking it when I was 17 and it did help with my acne but my hairline started to recede and I woke up one day after training like all the other days I do and my shoulder was in excruciating pain. One of the side effects of Tetracycline is tendonitis I was NOT told about those side effects and if I were told I would have not taken them. It hurt when I ran or even slightly moved it I am 19 now and I am still dealing with the tendonitis in my right shoulder although it is getting better I very much should have been told about this possibility because for me it was a reality. read more

He is always thorough, his bedside manner is outstanding, his staff is friendly and helpful. He always calls me next day to check up on me and make sure I'm comfortable after procedure. I wish we could break these reviews down by category. I was initially impressed with Dr. Goldenberg. He took a conservative approach, which I like, but my condition did not clear with topical treatment so it necessitated a biopsy, which was done on a subsequent visit. His bedside manner was perfectly friendly and appropriate. So far, so good, right? Unfortunately, this was where the care took a nosedive. I was told that I would hear back in a week regarding the biopsy results. After hearing nothing after a week (mind you, I am waiting to hear if I have a cancerous lesion), I called his office and was given the results by an administrative assistant (NOT appropriate), I then asked her to have him call me because I had some questions. 2 days and another phone message later, I am still waiting. So, although initially, I would have given him five stars, his (or perhaps the "credit" goes to his office staff, but regardless, the buck stops with him) lack of appropriate follow-up regarding a critical test lands him a single star. read more

I'm sad I have to write this review. My initial appointment with dr Kristina went well as she is a pleasant person upon first meeting, however it now seems like a facade in an effort to gain clients and provide services that are unnecessary. My body and skin will never be the same due to her poor medical choices. I came for a routine check and Kristina did a procedure that left me with severe scarring and deep atrophy on my body. I have since seen several dermatologists who are flabbergasted at what she allowed herself to do and agree it was a completely unnecessary procedure.their office has made no efforts to alleviate what seems to be permanent damage. This was one of the worst experiences I have had with a medical professional. I came in for a routine body check, and he refused to even complete a body check, stating that I was "too tan", and it wouldn't do any good. I tried to explain that my family has dark skin, and my present skin coloring was not abnormal, but he did not acknowledge this, and stated that it is a mistake to think that "good genes" will protect me from skin cancer. He was very unprofessional and rude, repeatedly calling me "not smart" in regards to my skin care, at one point stated that I "should know better". I explained that I wore sunscreen every day in my face lotion and reapplied frequently when spending extended periods of time in the sun, and his reaction was that "clearly, you aren't doing it right". I tried to seek advice from him on what I could be doing better, and he was completely dismissive. He left the room no more than 5 minutes later, and I left the office without any type of body examination and a bill. read more

I first met Dr. Goldenberg when he was one of the heads of the Mt. Sinai Dermatology Department. Gary did a full body check and was very efficient and direct in making decisions. I asked Dr. Goldenberg how he knew a mole could be dangerous and he said to me with a smile, "When you see a red Ferrari, you know it!" Throughout my many years of working with Dr. Goldenberg, I have always found our time together very productive, leaving with a great sense of confidence that I was receiving the very best care. Dr. Goldenberg is remarkably delicate in how he executes the various procedures. He is always very informative, and accessible, calling without fail after every biopsy. His staff is terrific; talented, smiling, effective and happy, and facilitating appointments that work out to be very convenient. Dr. Goldenberg is the nicest, and I always enjoyed appointments with him, but increasingly his office has become upsell territory, and finally last year I started suspecting him of prioritizing his earnings over my health. He'd always been good at talking me into probably unnecessary stuff, e.g. a couple of years ago he looked at a mole of mine and said he thought it should come off, but that if I paid an extra $100 out of pocket (not via insurance), he'd try this new machine he was testing on me, and maybe the machine would say the mole didn't need to come off. The machine was just some kind of scope that clearly didn't involve a per-use cost, so why was he charging this arbitrary extra fee for something he was just experimenting with (the scope provided no new information in this case)? Then on my last visit I had a bad spider (or other scary insect) bite that was already starting to get better when I saw him, but even though I told him I was 1. quite sure it was just an insect bite (I'd been in the woods when it appeared); and 2. already healing on its own, he insisted (forcefully recommended and I caved) on doing a biopsy on it, saying "maybe it's herpes." Um, really? Why do a surgical biopsy on something that is already healing without treatment? I mean, if it failed to heal, that would be a sign that reevaluation and treatment were needed, so why not just send the patient home with instructions to come back in a couple of weeks if there was still a problem? I fear that his decision to biopsy (leaving me with an ugly scar) was just about the extra $600 it netted him for an extra 4 minutes' work - insurance paid half, I got stuck with half. I was also put off by the plastic-surgery advertising videos he's started running on an endless loop in his exam rooms. In short, I just don't trust him anymore, and even though I think he's clearly very smart and experienced and was always friendly and pleasant to interact with, I'm now taking my moles somewhere else. read more

EXCELLENT physician! He's both a great medical dermatologist and an amazing cosmetic dermatologist. I recently went to see him for fillers and botox, and he made me look 10 years younger! I can confidently write this review (of him) as I have had botox and filler done before with other top dermatologists, but he's the best of the best! His approach is all about the natural look.
