I have seen Dr. Jacobs for nearly 15 years. I have had three melanomas which he detected early enough so that only outpatient surgery was needed to excise them without any follow up treatment. Enough said but add to that his staff (and he) are always cordial and helpful. Because he is sought after for treatment, however, you will face the occasional long wait in his office at your appointment but that is a pretty small price to pay for medical excellence. I had some sort of rash on my foot.it was extremely itchy and at times was so painful that I couldn't walk. I went to see two different doctors and they said it was athletes foot and they both gave me two different prescription creams. they didn't work. I went to see Dr. Jacobs and immediately diagnosed it as psoriasis. he prescribed a cream and within two days the rash was better and within a week I was able to start running again. Prior to my Thermage, I had a free face to face consultation with Dr. Jacobs to exam my face and address my questions, and was sure Thermage is the right treatment I needed. I consider Dr Jacobs# 1 in his field. I travel long distances to see him in NYC as I trust no one more when it comes to my skin. I used to travel from London! My history with Dr. Jacobs is a fairly long one.. for years I had struggled with rosacea - I had had people tell me it was deforming. After seeing Dr. Jacobs for laser treatments to treat the rosacea ( a treatment other doctors at the time I had started with Jacobs, were not offering) I am now the person my friends celebrate as having the best skin of anyone they know. I am so pleased with the ultherapy Dr. Jacobs performed on my face. I can hardly believe that the Bells Palsy, which I contracted at age 11 and which partially paralyzed the right side of my face for all these years since, has almost disappeared. Several friends have remarked that they can no longer notice the paralysis and have asked what I have done! All the other treatments I have had over the years have been very effective as well--both the Juviderm and the Botox. I can't rave enough about this office and Dr. Jacobs. My husband and I have been going to Dr. Jacobs for years for annual skin checkups and various minor skin issues. Recently, I decided to delve into the cosmetic side for a bit of freshening - Dr. Jacobs is very down to earth, and listens patiently to your concerns and makes very low key suggestions on treatments and options. He was never pushy. After hearing about my options, I decided to go with a microneedling treatment called Vivace. I can't say enough about the treatment , the technician, or the final outcome. Dr. Jacobs cured a nasty infection that had one of New Jersey's finest dermatologists and several hotshot infectious disease doctors stumped. They couldn't decide if it was a waterborne or land micobacterial infection, and after 2 years of unsuccessful biopsies and prolonged head-scratching, they all agreed that the cure (3 antibiotics for 18 months) was probably worse than the actual infection. Dr. Jacobs took a look and suggested 4 weeks of Minocin, a mild bacteria often prescribed for kids' acne. Long story short, it did the trick. I made 2 visits and spent more time sitting around true waiting room than I should have, so a C+ for the staff, but an A+ for the doc. read more

Dr. Michael Jacobs has been our dermatologist for years. At my routine checkup, his incredible eye picked up a suspicious spot that was early melanoma. Dr. Jacobs' response was immediate, efficient and effective; his treatment was thorough and thoughtful. He tracked me through follow-up treatment at Memorial Sloan Kettering and through plastic surgery and it has all had a good outcome. His staff was superb as well. They managed the scheduling, coordination of records and requirements from all the follow up physicians. When things are all going well, people and systems aren't truly tested. I cannot rate this doctor high enough. I had a problem for more than thirty years and had seen more than fifty doctors before going to Dr. Jacobs. No-one knew what I had or how to treat it. Although I tried many creams and ointments, both prescribed and over-the-counter, nothing helped. Dr. Jacobs diagnosed the problem on the first visit.
