My 4-year-old daughter had an awful first experience here. We came in for her appointment, chose the earrings we wanted, and she was so excited. Of course, once her ears were pierced, she cried a bit because of the pain, but then we found out they had pierced the wrong earrings. The staff member said, "I grabbed the wrong one," and explained that switching them right away or re-piercing would hurt. While the staff was very apologetic and did give us a gift certificate for the correct earrings to replace within 6 weeks, it still did not make up for how traumatic the experience was for my daughter. I really feel the staff should have confirmed with us one last time which earrings were being used before piercing her ears. Now my daughter is stuck wearing earrings she does not even like, and I honestly do not know how I am going to convince her to come back in 6 weeks after such a bad experience. We have used Upper Lobe in the past and never had an issue. I wish we had used their services again instead of trying Rowan. Unfortunately, this was not a good first experience for my family. read more

Stay away!!! They don't know what they're doing. I went for a helix piercing and they said "it'd be soooo cute to get two" Any piercing studio would NEVER suggest this as it causes way too much trauma to the ear. I didn't know this then. The "licsensed" professional working there should have. I was also traveling across the country and noted this many times bc I don't think they understood? Or wasn't paying attention. So they told me to come back in 2 weeks to check my posts, which I soon learned was on WAY too tight and causing swelling all this time. I mean, The girl "piercing" me also asked for 20 opinions acting unsure should have been my "nope gotta go" sign. I think she asked an 8 year old customer at one point. Who knows. She spoke like she rolled out of a barrel of hay and decided to pierce ears in a shopping center, which was placed in a cow field. Not the 8 year old girl. The "registered nurse". They also recited after care instructions like a postal service worker who stood at the same counter for 40+ years. Way too fast. Looked at the ceiling. Totally memorized. They also told me I could go in the ocean and pool but to avoid lakes and rivers. Also wrong. I should avoid any type of open water. They gave me a bag with aftercare info and aftercare solution. They didn't ever tell me they were charging me $20 for the aftercare solution. Over priced. Not friendly staff. I honestly think you're better off at Claire's. This is after 2 weeks of piercing. I was so cautious and careful with keeping area clean and not touching. Just left urgent care and am on antibiotics to treat. I should charge the store for my copay and medication. Stay. I got my helix pierced and it was the best experience ever! The staff were wonderful and let me try any earring that I wanted to see if it looked good without getting annoyed. They walked me through the whole process and let me double check everything. When the piercing happened one of the staff stood in-front of the mirror so I couldn't see (scaredy cat over here) and let my mom hold my hand the whole time. All of the earrings in the photos are from Rowan and my seconds I also got done with an amazing experience. They even sell ear pillows so that your piercing doesn't get messed up by sleeping on it. I had my earrings ripped out and surgically repaired 6 months ago. After reading the reviews decided Rowan was the best place to go and I was NOT disappointed. Ashley was fabulous, hardly felt a thing and the placement was perfect. She took her time, made several corrections on the placement and once satisfied did the needle piercings, two in each ear. I'm very happy with everything, can't recommend them highly enough. Made an appointment, seen right away and out the door in 25 minutes. I booked an appointment for this location. After waiting for a bit, I told them I was there for a piercing and had an appointment. I would have expected them to inform me of the their process - piercing, earrings, the overall process, but no I didn't get any of that. They were a bit busy, so I figured maybe they would after I selected my earrings. Nope! I had to wait for the needle piecer to come back. At this point, I was very uncomfortable, by their process. There was no communication or apologies for being late. For being nurses, they had horrible "bed side manners." I did not get my piercing because it didn't feel right. I payed over $300 for a piercing, two new earrings, and a spray. I got my piercing downsized and it broke a month after. Rowan is refusing to replace it because it has been "over a month" even thought conch piercings take 6-12 months to heal. My daughters and I were enjoying the weather change when we walked by Rowan. I had been debating on getting my "almost 2 year old's ears pierced for a couple of weeks and it must have been apparent that I was curious. Courtney saw me looking and instantly noticed I was curious. She explained the process was done by registered nurses and that if I wanted, they could tandem pierce my daughter. She was very convincing and had a super fun personality. Nurse Sydney was who actually pierced my little wild child and was fast but efficient, and so understanding and sweet! They are very sterile and thorough and managed to quickly get my daughter taken care of. After both piercings were done, the entire staff and store gave my daughter a round of applause. I have been canceled on multiple times because they lack so many needle piercing nurses. I even made an appointment and got cancelled on, don't advertise like it's so easy to get your piercing. Very few of your "nurses" can actually needle pierce, therefore a lot of options are off limits with most of the nurses. Extremely annoying. read more

I highly recommend this place for ear piercing! 2/3 of our triplet daughters wanted their ears pierced for their 7th birthday, and after calling around to a few places, we found Rowan. The woman who took my call was very friendly, patiently and honestly answering all of my questions. We easily booked same day appointments online, and did not have to wait at all once we were there. Nurse Ashley was amazing, really helping them to feel at ease. I loved that she asked them directly if they wanted their ears pierced, and she was so very patient when they expressed any nervousness, explaining everything to them in a kid friendly way. She put the numbing cream on 30 min before, and when the time came, each girl took turns sitting on my lap with 2 nurses on either side for tandem piercing. The countdown was quick, and instead of tears, there was sweet, excited laughter! It turned out to be a relatively painless procedure, easing this momma's biggest worry, and the girls LOVED looking in the mirror at their new earrings. Afterward the salespeople gave them goody bags, and included their sister even though she chose not to pierce. I cannot say enough great things about our experience, and am just so relieved.
