Love Row House! I've been doing classes here for a few years now and really have enjoyed my time. There are different classes offered but my favorite is strength! I love how strength classes start with rowing and then ends with exercise off the rower using weights. All the instructors are lovely! They really are outgoing, energetic, and encouraging! If you have any questions they are always so helpful. The music is awesome too and they make it fun by having some theme rows throughout. Also row house is very clean- which is a plus plus plus. I joined Row House a month ago and have been absolutely loving it. I'm one of those people who struggle to get myself to a gym and build up a routine, so the structure that Row House provides is just what I needed. I have an unlimited membership so I can go to as many classes as I want and try to go every other day or at least three times a week. They have different types of classes which is nice. I usually alternate between Signature and Strength. They also have a restore class which still gives you a decent workout despite being more relaxed. Perfect for those days where you want to work out but are too sore to push yourself. Or if you want to workout consecutive days. All the staff are very friendly and create this close-knit feeling like you are part of a community. Especially when you're all rowing together and working towards a shared goal. Members are respectful of each other and all the equipment are generally treated with care, including cleanliness. Finally, I enjoy seeing my stats at the end of every class. Seeing improvements each time keeps me motivated :) and I always try to see some green! read more

Enjoyed the hip hop themed class this week! Row House is a great low impact, aerobic workout, with optional strength training add-ons. The coaches are energetic and encouraging. I already workout at Method 3, and this is a great addition to my weekly routine to spice things up! I do think that if they moved to a different plaza, I would go even more often! I took two signature classes with Cyndi, and they were fantastic! These signature classes were a great mix of activities, with about 75% rowing and 25% floor work. On the floor, we did split squats using dumbbells of our choice, pulse squats, and planks. Each rowing machine displayed our personal numbers, and the TV screen showed the collective total from all rowers, making us feel like one united crew. Cyndi's music choices were spot-on, and she perfectly timed the lights to match the music's bass drops, creating an exciting and motivating atmosphere. Her encouragement and energy truly pushed everyone to give their best. The second class I attended was similar but featured different floor exercises and music, which I really appreciated. I enjoyed how each class was unique and not exactly the same. Overall, this was a fun experience that I'd highly recommend trying out. Big shout out to Cyndi for making these classes so enjoyable and engaging! The staff was amazing as well--everyone was nice and helpful, especially toward brand-new rowers. Row House is located on the second floor, right next to Peet's Coffee. Parking was pretty challenging for me since my class was around 6 pm. The plaza parking area is smaller compared to the number of people attending. If your class is during rush hour, plan to arrive earlier to find parking. I've taken about 7 classes here now... and I must say.... Cyndi is so much fun!! Loved her energy and her music choice. Nothing better to pump up a rowing class than Lady Gaga, Pitbull, and Tyler the Creator. Fun stuff. Classes here are somewhat affordable compared to other boutique gyms. Sessions range from 45 minutes to an hour. I always feel energized after a Signature class! Strength is decent too if you need to tone your arms a bit. Located upstairs in the Pruneyard, this is a gem! Parking sucks, but if you park a little far... at least you get some steps in before/after your workout... read more

When I arrived, the check in process was easy and I liked how the screen told you what seat # you are. The staff was friendly and helpful, I liked the how the instructor (Pranavi) personally went up to me and the other new first-timers to introduce herself and show me how to use the machine. I enjoyed my previous Yelp Elite Week experience here so much that I started taking classes regularly! I am usually super lazy, but these classes actually motivate me to get active. Rowhouse is conveniently located in the Pruneyard, but parking can be a bit of a pain. I usually just park in the big garage at the back and take a short walk over. Signing up for classes is super easy through the app and you can select and even bookmark your rower of choice. You might end up getting waitlisted for a class, but I got off the waitlist even being #4 when I first signed up. My favorite class so far has been Full Row, where you spend most of the class on the rower with a few short floor exercises. I most often take classes with Coaches Pranavi and Jackson, and both classes are quite intense. Pranavi's workout playlists are top tier (I'm a bit biased since they happen to often include music I listen to regularly haha)! Jackson's classes are early in the morning and they make me feel super energized for the day. I've also taken classes with Julia, Tanya, and Cyndi and they're all amazing! All the coaches do an excellent job at keeping you motivated. They also regularly check in on your form and give tips on how to improve. It's really fun to see everyone's statistics averaged up at the front and I enjoy how the coaches time the lighting to the music/beat drops. I'm always super sweaty after class and often end up with sore muscles the day after, so these workouts are definitely very effective. read more

I had been looking for a great cardio + strength training class to supplement my tennis game, and now I've found it! Rowing is a great full-body workout: lower body, upper body, core, everything. And although there are "full row" classes, most other classes do a combination of rowing and off-the-erg mat work and weight training. Most importantly, I can see definition in my arms and legs coming through, and my explosive energy and fitness on the court has improved! This place is not a fitness studio. It's a little family fun house where you go and do a fun activity together! Absolutely amazing rowing experience coupled with a floor based strength workout. I love the whole concept of rowing in unison and really challenging yourself to get to the next level. The instructors are so amazing (favorite - Pranavi). They know all the customers who come in (by name) and coach them on what to do and what to avoid. Their special attention goes a long way in making people regulars. You can really tell the difference! You get lockers for your stuff. I bring my own yoga mat but you can borrow one free of charge if you're a member. Awesome location right in the heart of Campbell located conveniently close to shopping, groceries and restaurants. Once you try it, you'll keep going back. You can download their app to get your stats and manage classes and check-in, though everything can also be done online. They have a variety of classes throughout the week and they love to do themed weeks, always fun! Parking for evening classes can be a bit tough since it's a very popular plaza, so arrive early to look for parking. There's a garage near the office buildings as well. I've been coming to Row House for the last 2-3 months and can say I'm officially a convert. One of my best friends is a rower and does Head of the Charles every year, so I always respected rowing, but never understood why she would wake up at 3 or 4 to row. Now I get it. Lillian is the sweetest! She always greets everyone who walks in with a big smile and there is no question that anyone - whether they've been to Row house for years or it's their first time - feels welcome in her presence. There has been a change in ownership recently, but they did a great job making the transition smooth and seamless. Molly seems great, but I miss Lillian's smile and warmth! As soon as you walk in, there are locked cubbies to the right. You honestly don't need to lock your belongings since someone is usually at be front desk, but it's a nice feature. You get to reserve a seat online as well. If you are a planner in any kind of way or Type A, this is the place for you. You can plan ahead a week or so in advance, and they request that you cancel at least 8 hours prior to the class. There are waitlists, and they will text you if you made it into the class, which is great. Instructors: there is quite a variety, so you get to pick which one you like. I like all of the ones I've been to, honestly. Cindy is funny and I love the idea of restore row, where it's more about the process of rowing and how it feels in your body rather than what time you are getting or how many meters you row. Michael is great too, a bit soft spoken compared to the other instructors, but his class does the trick. Ava has really great upbeat energy, which I loved! I have so many good things to say about Row House in Campbell. First of all, Lillian has been so helpful from the beginning when they offered a free class which was great because I wanted to see what rowing was like. I wanted wait a bit (5 months so far) before writing my review. So now that I've been working out and am used to rowing, I'd like to say that all of the staff has made me feel at ease with the machines and look forward to my next workout. You can book classes to fit your schedule on the app and it's pretty easy. I'm glad that I took the first step because I truly feel stronger and don't take as much pain medication as I used to. I know everyone is different but rowing has helped me physically and mentally. The coaches are great and keep you motivated. I try and go every Thursday for Coach Dante's class. And Sunday mornings with Cyndi. Not only do they fit in my schedule but they're awesome coaches! read more

After signing up, I got a text and call from Lilian to help me sign up for my first class. Row House is located in Pruneyard Courtyard, directly above Luna Mexican Restaurant, 2nd floor. When you enter, the have lockers to store your personal belongings (no pad-lock needed). They also have a water dispenser so you stay hydrated. The instructor, Christy, was very personable and took the time before class to walk be through the basics of using the row machine and how to strap on/strap off. The class I took was is formatted into 4 sections: rowing, mat, rowing, weights. Christy very motivating and gives you the opportunity to hit your best split time. There's also a portion where you try and achieve a group goal. I loved how it's a full body workout while being low impact! There's was no judgement and everyone in the class was extremely friendly! After the class, Christy asked how my experience was and the following day, Nancy also followed up asking how my workout was. Love how they have a few different classes and also offers the option to do outdoor rowing on Thursday and Sunday. read more

I convinced my sister to try rowing with me. And although I sometimes can feel the hatred emanating from her toward me for putting her through this, as we row side by side, we both have actually really enjoyed it. Not in the way one of those people who smiles while working out (seriously those people have to be serial killers) types of enjoyment, but we feel really good after each class. Not to mention, I can tell my strength and stamina have seriously improved. I started noticing it the third week in. This started as a, let's just try it thing, and now we are on our third month and plan on continuing. Row House is located in The Pruneyard, upstairs from Luna's and right next to Kyoto Palace. The location is a plus and minus for me. I feel like it's a great central location for most people that live around the area, but the parking there is a nightmare, especially at the time the night classes start. You will most likely never be parking nearby, unless you go for one of the early morning classes before the crowds hit The Pruneyard. I also don't love having to walk past all the people eating and drinking while looking like a sweaty tomato, but such is life, and I can suck it up to do something good for myself. The studio is small but clean, and well maintained. There are 25 machines. It's a little tight for my taste BUT I have major space bubble issues, so I am a bit hypersensitive to that type of thing. Lillian, the Owner, is such a great person. She is so kind, helpful, and friendly. We have taken classes from all of the coaches too, and we have genuinely liked every one of them and their different styles of coaching. They have all been helpful, motivating, and nice. I also really appreciate that it's not bougie and they make you feel comfortable. This area can be a little snooty and uptight and some of these gyms, etc. just don't make you feel comfortable. But I have felt nothing but comfortable here. The only "complaint" (which really wasn't a complaint or deal breaker for me) I had was that I had wished they had one more class that was later. But that issue will be solved by the beginning of 2023, as they added an extra class and pushed the night class back a bit. Now I don't have to speed home after work to get to the last class in time. There is also an app you can download, which I really like since I live and die by my phone (unfortunately). It's even easy enough for my sister to use who is self admittedly not tech savvy. You can schedule your classes and track your progress. It's nice to be able to go back and look at how you are progressing. It is $149.00 a month for 8 classes. At first I thought it was a little pricey, but most of these boutique workout places run about the same for Pilates, spin, etc. so it's not an unusual price by any means. Plus, you are investing in your health so I think it's worth it. I would absolutely recommend checking Row House in Campbell out. You won't be disappointed. read more

I absolutely love ROW HOUSE!! I went to my first class, since I saw a lot of pop up ads on Instagram and decided to do the first class. The instructors were super helpful and got me all set up. The entire team is extremely kind and are great at cheering the class on. I did 4 classes at Row House and I prefer the indoor classes more since you get the full experience of music and dim lights. You must come to row house!! I've only taken 1 workout class in my life and it was at my local gym. I'm a frequent strength trainer but i've always wanted to try rowing. I loved my experience here. The staff, the energy, and the community really went above my expectations. I went to a recent Yelp event twice, and both times were great. Different styles and atmospheres with each coach, but I liked them both. Before the class, the staff was sure to welcome us and help show my friend and I how to do proper form, use the machine, and find our flow. I really appreciated this because they didn't have to but did both times. The studio was clean, spacious, and well lit. For a while, I'd hear the music pumping out of the Row House in the Pruneyard. It sounded like everyone was having so much fun, so when I rebooted healthier work out habits in February this year, I decided to try it out. It's become a habit ever since. Firstly, this is a woman-owned business led by a wonderful lady named Lillian. As an avid rower, she has a lot of knowledge about the activity/sport and is always ready to share suggestions on how to help you achieve your goals. There is a lot of camaraderie in the classes and you can clearly see the relationships that members have built over time. Everyone is encouraging and ready for some laughs. I've had the pleasure to take classes by a number of coaches. I can't pick a favorite because each one brings their own energy and pizzaz to their session. There are different kinds of classes to choose from - all which follow a pattern of some time rowing, some time doing an exercise (stretching, weights, core, etc), and a return to more rowing. Wendy - She makes rowing seem so effortless, even though I know the class is as much a workout for her as it is for the crew. I love taking Wendy's full row class as it enables me to work on my endurance levels... especially when I take her 60minute class. She has a playlist that helps me get in the zone to work on my form and stroke rates. While I recommend all coaches, definitely check out one of Wendy's classes. Cyndi - I like to think of Cyndi as your cool sister with whom you want to tag along. She's going to have the cool music and a lot of back and forth banter. And, she's going to make you sweat. Michael - I haven't taken too many sessions with Michael as he usually leads the early bird classes. I don't like waking up that early but his sessions will kickstart your day. Pranavi - I can't pass up Pranavi's full row class. She's always pushing her crew for just a little more output. There have been times when I don't think I have it in me to finish one more ladder climb... but I do. EACH. AND. EVERY. TIME. I know I can do anything for 30seconds, one minute, up to 2K meters. Granted, after that, I'm not so sure. Camillo - He needs to trademark his level of energy. The best way I can describe his class is that you feel like you are dancing in the ERG. If you need to add some pep to your step, check out one of Camillo's class. Gee - Don't be deceived by the name of the class she leads - "Restore." It's not as easy as it sounds. Yes, Gee's class instills a sense of calmness, but with a large side of exertion. read more

I did a week of rowing classes on a whim because Yelp offered a week of free classes. I had tried Orange Theory before and never really understood rowing. No one was more surprised than me when I ended up signing up for monthly classes. The classes are so enjoyable, great coaches and other rowers, and such a good workout. It's also low impact too! The coaches here are really top notch. They care and make sure you have good form so you can have an even better workout. Song choices are fun, with lots of themed rows. For floor exercises, they give a lot of alternatives in case people have injuries which is very thoughtful. It's now November, and I've been a row member since April now! The Row House in Campbell's Pruneyard is terrific! I've been a member of Bay Club Courtside, Los Gatos JCC, Los Gatos Rowing Club, Orange Theory, and YMCA - all manner of clubs and gyms from $$$$ to $. All manner of exercise machinery, classes, physical plants, etc, etc. I'm fairly well qualified to comment... The front of house staff and customer service are first rate. Instructors are personable and engaged. They start classes right on time, come well prepared with custom workouts synched to great music, and provide encouragement all along the way. Classes are structured to encourage teamwork & spirit. The vibe is positive and fun! Class progress, total meters rowed and "split times" are reported on large monitors providing overall class feedback. Individual's are not singled out, so no problem if you are recovering or simply not really 'into it' that day. A few other things not ordinarily mentioned in these reviews: The RowHouse app software integration is very well done - scheduling classes, sending reminders, tracking progress to various target goals, and updating several logbooks automatically (i.e. directly updates Concept 2 logbook, Strava, and other fitness apps). The CLEAN exercise space is well ventilated with ceiling fans and HEPA air filtration. The two bathrooms are always sparkling. The ~25 Concept 2 ergometers (rowing machines) are the well-maintained latest models & are routinely cleaned after every class. Memberships can be paused for up to three months annually, a feature most boutique gyms do not offer. Highly recommended. read more

I did my research, and when this place opened, I joined immediately. This is an excellent low impact workout (classes only) that is easy to follow and gets your heart rate going! The class is filled with people of all fitness levels and ages, men and women. You just do your personal best (in partial darkness!) with no pressure. Competition is class as a whole stats only, which is motivational every time. If you love tracking your fitness goals, wow, this is THE place. I guess (not having gone) it is similar to fitness classes like Orange Theory. You can book your classes and seat with the RowHouse APP and you get your report immediately after class. I have improved my speed and strength after only two weeks. All you need for class is just a normal gym outfit and a water bottle. There is semi-loud music, which I like--but I wish they'd change the tunes up a little. Weights, towels, and lockers provided. No showers. The instructors are nice people. It IS kind of expensive, with pricing similar to Soulcycle and Barry's Bootcamp. Afterwards, there is a great organic juice shop nearby or Peets coffee. read more

This is a great workout and location. Extremely clean and VERY well run. They have a lot of variety in their workout classes and mix the music up so you always feel like it is a fresh routine. I wanted to try a workout that is low impact but challenging and this is it! I just finished my first week at Row House and I'm sold, now I'm a member. My whole body feels great, legs, arms and most importantly my knees don't hurt! I see a chiropractor and he noticed an improvement in my flexibility when adjusting my back and that was before I told him I started rowing. I also love that RH sends you an immediate workout summary after each class so you can track your workouts and set goals. Today was my first row with Ava Fry and she is fantastic! She has great energy, focused on proper form and motivated the crew to break our own records today. Everyone at the front desk is so welcoming and supportive too. I needed to find a way to exercise that was easier on my knees, so I thought I'd try rowing. What a great surprise! Row House Campbell is run by a great team. They have a variety of classes, coaches and times. It's not just rowing, they do stretching, dumbbells and core strengthening.
