I have no idea how this place rates so well on Tirerack which is the reason I went there. I have never in my life had issues with a garage but this place is horrible beyond belief! I had two separate insanely bad experiences. I had them install 4 new tires on my car which they charge 2X what anyone else does. 2 weeks later one of the wheels came loose(almost fell off) on RT2! I had the car towed to them and they basically took no fault. Tried to say maybe someone at my work undid them... I had worked at the same place for 4 years it is a private parking lot and 9-5 not left alone late at night. I worked there for 3 years after this never had any wheels magically come loose after. Swore to never use them again and it was over 3 years but ended up having to use them again for tires unfortunately. Made an appointment drop the car off at like 9am so they were not squeezing it in. The call me at 4:40pm to tell me my car was done. I tell they guy I live 20mins away I'll leave right now but I might be a bit after 5pm(time they close). I get there at 5:10pm to a completely locked up closed shop. It was Friday my car sat there all weekend!!! Come Monday the owner again barely give a shit when I complained. read more

My 2022 Kia Stinger had a nail go into the sidewall and could not be patched. All tire shops I contacted before Roux's told me I had to replace all 4 tires due to the all wheel drive system. Roux's told me Tire Rack could supply a "shaved" brand new tire to match the existing wear on my defective tire saving me about $800. I had driven by Roux's Garage a few times after moving to the area about a year ago. I had not done business with them until I recently purchased 4 tires online at TireRack and found that Roux's was given their highest rating for the installation of tires. I had the tires shipped directly to Roux's and made an appointment to have the tires installed on a Friday. I dropped my car off late Thursday afternoon (4-ish). At 5, just as they were closing, they called to tell me that 3 of the 4 tires would be done and ready for Friday but that one of the wheels (rims) was very slightly bent and needed to be repaired. I approved them to send the wheel out and they explained that it would not be back until first thing Monday but that they would get the tires completed as quickly as possible. I went to Roux's early Monday with the expectation that I would sit and wait there. True to their word, the wheel was returned to them very early and they had the last tire mounted and balanced in very short order. Paul and all at Roux's could not have been nicer or more accommodating. I plan on taking my cars here now for anything that does not require direct manufacturer (warranty) service. They were personable, friendly, and efficient. I never felt I was being "sold" anything I did not ask for or need. The prices charged were fair and were as stated on the TireRack website. Note:1 this is a working garage without a customer waiting area. Though not a problem for me, you should realize that if you plan on waiting while your vehicle is serviced, you will be sitting in the front of the garage, on a folding chair likely watching the work in progress, with the vehicles just a couple feet away. Arranging to be picked up and dropped off might be appealing to most of their customers. Note 2: Roux's uses an advanced method called Road Force Balancing when mounting tires. This is a very precise process which actually simulates the pressure a tire feels against the road, when it is being installed on a rim / wheel. They are happy to explain and show you the process. This process takes a little more time but yields much better and longer lasting results. read more

said every calipers, brake and roter was rusted and this car was unsafe to drive and was trying to charge us 1500$. brought it to 2 other mechanics and both said it was the front and back brakes and roters , not a single caliper was bad. Paul is great! He runs an amazing shop, he has got to be the most meticulous Mechanic I know (and I know a lot). I don't trust anyone to work on me or my wife's cars but when it's in his hand I know it will be fixed right and ready in a timely manner - no sitting around here. If I could give this shop 10 stars on Yelp I would, it takes a lot for a mechanic to impress me (as I used to be one) and Paul is one of the few out there that knows every aspect of the trade and treats every car he touches as if it's his own, weather its a teenagers POS first car or a high end sports car he gives them all the same treatment. Also he has got to be one of the best tire balancers in this state, he takes his time and does it right, even gives you documentation of what's going on and if its more than a balance issue that could lead to other issues down the road. Had a set of Blizzak snow tires installed on my 2006 BMW 325i at Roux's garage. There was a wait for an appointment of a week because they were flat out busy catching up from two snow storms that sent everyone scrambling to put on snow tires. Got there first thing at 7:00 and was greeted by the technician who was happy to explain the process including the "road force" dynamic balancing machine. A little research has convinced me that road force balancing is superior to the standard "dynamic balance" process used in most shops. The result was the smoothest road handling (zero detectable vibration, steering wheel shimmy) and straight line tracking that I have experienced on this car (with 215K miles. There's a good reason why Tire Rack gives them their highest rating. It's because all their customers do. I recently had to find a new shop to do my tire work as the proprietor of my former place, Priesty's in Boxborough sadly passed away last summer. I was impressed with the knowledge and care of Roux's and look forward to having further repair work done there. read more

Best garage I have ever used. Honest, knowledgeable, helpful are just a few of the superlatives I have for this place.

After much research to find a place to drop ship a new set of tires for mounting and balancing, I found Roux's Garage. I was looking specifically for a shop that offered Road Force Balance and "touchless" tire mounting. Roux's offers both, a Hunter GSP-9700 Road Force balancing machine and Hunter TC3500 tire mounting machine. Both pieces of equipment are state of the art. Their garage is very spacious and clean. There are plenty of garages, tire shops, and dealerships that offer road force balancing. The real problem is finding a technician that is properly trained and knows how to use the machines correctly by utilizing all of the features. Paul was kind enough to let me hang out and watch the entire process. He educated me on how the 3500 & 9700 worked and was more than happy to answer all of my questions. Whereas most shops only have one style of stick on wheel weights available, Roux's actually has 3 different style options to choose from! I went with the lead free ones made by 3M. This was the first time I heard of 3M offering wheel weights. The weights are made of a flexible composite material, which can be custom cut to the nearest gram. They look and perform great. I did not have any problems with my alignment, but would have gotten it done if needed. They also have a nice Hunter DSP600 machine. Paul is one the most skilled and knowledgeable technicians around for mounting and balancing tires. He literally knows everything there is to know about the Hunter equipment. He has the entire process down to a science and takes great pride in his work. This is evident with his attention to detail. The entire process takes about 1.5 to 2 hours to be done correctly and even though Paul was short handed, he still took his time and did not rush the work. Paul is professional, honest, very friendly and personable, which made the time fly by. I have tried many tire shops and had my share of bad experiences with each. Problems from inexperienced technicians ranged from gouges/scratches on the finish of my wheels, improper balancing causing poor ride quality, over tightening lug nuts with an impact gun, etc. None of these issues will happen at Roux's as long as Paul is there. No short cuts are taken and the work is high quality. A torque wrench is used to tighten lug nuts to factory specs. I live about 45 minutes away and it is well worth the extra drive. Roux's is now my go to shop for all future tire mounting and balancing needs. If you are looking for a super smooth, vibration-free ride at all speeds, look no further. This was by far the best mounting/balancing job I have ever had. Highly recommended! read more

This place was a complete nightmare. Came in to have a belt changed with transmission fluid flush and they nearly destroyed my Jeep Wrangler. As I left the parking lot the belt was slipping and my Jeep wouldn't change into gear. The belt was so loose my battery light was on and they never tightened my transmission filter resulting in all the fluid spilling out. The youngerish guy blamed the old man, I had to return twice to this place. They couldn't figure out and nearly ruined a simple 1999 inline 6 Chrysler engine. read more

Can't say anything bad about this place. They do a great job, explain things thoroughly and make you feel confident in their work. My first experience with this business was great. Dropped my fiance's car off there to have tires put on and they were very thorough. A month or so later I was back there for a tire replacement (after a nail damaged it beyond repair) and received the same quality work. This time I had ordered a tire 2 days before and prayed it would arrive before Friday (The garage owner was leaving for vacation). To my annoyance it arrived late Friday afternoon/Early evening. Luckily for me the staff there was willing to stay late before leaving for vacation to change the tire over. This definitely saved me from driving around town to find someone that could change this stupid tire over! Again, this place is great. A++. read more

I read the reviews both on Tire Rack and yelp regarding Roux's Garage for mounting and balancing tires. They had the top of line Hunter equipment so I decided to give them a try. I am VERY picky about balancing and was skeptical. I had my new Michelin's mounted on my Audi factory rims last week and Paul gave me a print out of the technical information regarding weight and potential pull of the tires depending on mounting locations. I have to say, that of all of the cars I own this has to be the best balance I have had. I have taken the car to significant speeds and it's absolutely smooth. He did such as great job that I'm having the alignment performed this week instead of the Audi dealer. I will update after that's complete. read more

This place was a complete disappointment. Dropped my truck off for a blown brake line. The next day after they diagnosed the issue I was called and given my options of repair. The one I chose was to repair just the one that was leaking. I asked what the cost of that would be and was quoted $225. The next day I receive a call telling me the truck was all set and I could pick it up. When I arrived my total bill was $403. When asked why so much was not given anything valid. Place is a complete joke I wouldn't send anyone I know here. Totally unprofessional to quote someone one price than almost double it. Roux Garage in Berlin is absolutely fantastic. I've had several cars maintained by Roux for both mechanical, oil changes, tires (via TireRack). Paul is one of the most professional auto mechanics around. We've had some challenging situations with car repairs and Paul managed thru them keeping us informed all through the repair. Very honest, high integrity, tells you when you don't need to spend money. We brought our Suburban into a Chevy dealer, they told us we need the brakes / rotors done, we brought it to Paul for a second opinion and he said we had at least 20K more miles to go on the brakes. Paul and Roux Garage are our go to guys for car issues, repairs, etc. I set the bar really high for an automotive mechanic and Paul has exceeded my expectations. You will absolutely enjoy working with Roux Garage. This is a family run operation with Pauls Dad also working and I can't tell you how friendly and professional they are. The service here is top notch. I am very particular. Paul is great at diagnosing problems - he often is solving problems dealers don't know how to. He is the master detective. He does all my tire work sending tires from Tire Rack directly to him. He has the latest Hunter Road Force balancing system. He uses specs tighter than required to give an absolute smooth ride. He recently balanced some snow tires that had gone out of balance because of wear. I could tell the difference even before getting on the highway. As others have said he is very friendly, obviously smart, knows what he is talking about and is willing to share his knowledge with you. I always wait for the work to get done because I learn something new each time. He always has great stories to tell even as he works at full speed.
