I've lived in a lot of cities and used many a dry cleaners but I have to say, Route 66 Cleaners is the best one I've ever been to. I no longer live in Albuquerque but the quality of their work still sets the bar and I always find myself comparing other dry cleaners to them. Always friendly, incredible reliable, accommodating and willing to go the extra mile to get it done right. I travel a lot and use a big backpack, which they would always clean on my return, turning the dirt ridden sack into a brand new bag! Like any decent dry cleaning company, Route 66 Cleaners always gets my clothes ready on time. They are reasonably priced, in a great location for those living Downtown or in EDo/Huning-Highland neighborhood. In the past at a dry cleaners in Michigan, they actually destroyed something of mine, and tried to cover it up, but it was pretty obvious and I called them on it. So Route 66 Cleaners hasn't destroyed anything I've given to them, and I've been using their services since November 2009, when I first moved to Albuquerque. Earlier in the year, I gave then a blouse which had a button come off. It had extra buttons attached at the bottom. Staff at Route 66 Cleaners offered to sew on the replacement button. It worked out well. Also, I brought in a dress, which needed some mending which was too minor for a seamstress. Route 66 Cleaners did a great job on that project as well. TERRIBLE SERVICE!!!! COSTUMERS WITH RENTALS PLEASE BEWARE! We sent our rentals to this cleaner to be dry cleaned, had a detailed inventory yet they still lost SEVERAL PIECES! Sent him photos to find them, called them a handful of times and visited the store to further investigate. The lost rentals are Costing us close to 1,000$!! When we called he didn't seem very eager to help us with the payments and avoided responsibility! DONT GO!!!! read more

Awesome company. I've been going here for 8 years and never had a problem. After giving up on all the dry cleaners in Nob Hill, where I live, I was so glad to find them. My clothes are always ready on time, in perfect order, and they always follow my instructions (I'm picky about the starch level). I use them for both wash & fold as well as dry cleaning. They remembered my name after only a few visits and grab my clothes as soon as I walk in the door. A first and last time customer in one shot.. A suit with a touch of cake frosting on leg and plain white shirt to be done. What could go wrong? After pickup, frosting exactly where I left it (yes,I pointed it out at drop off) pant leg double creased AND a nice dark scorch mark on the upper sleeve of my once white shirt. Despite what these, undoubtedly rude amd self-absorbed, clowns say this is a great place to do business. They are extremely kind, fast, and generous. Their credit card machine had broken one day, and instead of insisting I go and get cash, my large order was given to me "on the house." Myself and my siblings have used this place for YEARS, and have never had a problem. They remember your name, and will make every effort to accommodate ALMOST ALL requests, be they about timing or special cleaning instructions. Usually a dry cleaner is a dry cleaner, etc. But this business separates themselves with EXCELLENT customer service. I'm sure these complainers were bossy and rude, I've NEVER witnessed anybody get less than excellent service, and have seen them bend over backwards to satisfy customers, even difficult ones. They're always very friendly and have always done an excellent job with everything I've dropped off there, including a $1500 suit that I wouldn't trust to anyone else. You might have to use the back entrance right now because of all of the ridiculous construction on Central, but it's worth it! And you'll be supporting a wonderful local business. I absolutely love this place! I've had dry cleaning and alterations done here. Both have come out nicely. They're always extremely friendly and ask when YOU want your items back and they always accommodate. I needed something stitched up and told them to take their time. I returned 2 days later hoping I could pay an upgrade to get it done faster (realizing I needed it sooner than I thought) and they said no problem, no charge. It'll be done. LOVE that kind of service! The only thing that would be better would be coupons for this place (or maybe there are and I haven't seen 'um) read more

This place is terrible. They ruined a new shirt that I never even wore! I came in around 5:30pm to get a blouse and suit that I needed the next morning at 8:15am. The suit was fine, but the blouse had all of these dark splotches all over it. They said something went wrong with the initial dry cleaning and had it in the pile to be re-dry cleaned, but it could't be done before the next morning. I couldn't believe that they not only screwed it up, but didn't even attempt to fix it by the time my ticket said I would be back to pick up my clothes. I took the shirt to my trusted dry cleaner in DC and they couldn't get the dark splotches out. What a waste -- they ruined a new shirt!! read more
