Bought a used 2018 sonata after a year had chronic oil consumption issues . Had to pay thousand in maintenance to prove it was engine . Proved it was engine issue spoke w Hyundai corporate was sent back to dealership , called multiple times , got no call backs . Never got a call back from a manager after leaving a message . . Hyundai route 44 salesman was very pleasant. Spoke nicely but I do not feel he was honest in any way. I complained it was tire rot on four tires. They said well we'll give you two repeated repeated repeated attempts to contact them for this tire change went unanswered the front right tire blew out on me while driving, good thing I was only going 25 and not on the highway doing 65. The mechanic said you need new tires. I had to replace two front tires cuz I couldn't afford all four and then later at some point I ended up buying four new tires all the same. This particular year, make and model has serious issues of which they were lawsuits between 20, 2022 in 2024 and I bought this vehicle in 2023 and no one said a word about it. I've had my engine not start. I went from every other week checking the oil which keeps going low. My engine not even starting. I couldn't go there with just one complaint. I had to repeatedly have this issue and know that it is indeed a serious issue. Every other week checking it full of oil. 4 days ago I checked it. I had to fill it. I feel mistreated, tricked, taken advantage of and ignored and would not recommend going there with all the sweet chocolate to suck you in and then screw you with something they just dying to dump. We'll see how it goes. Now that I've got the mechanic saying this is a defective engine you need to speak with the dealership. That's a third making an educated assessment being he's a mechanic, but I guarantee they will try just like the tires I ended up having to buy all four of, they will do everything to avoid taking responsibility for what they have known before they sold it to me. This engine had serious problems and they said nothing and they I'm not going to want to do a damn thing. No don't trust the sweet smiling faces that will suck you in. read more

Shame on you RT 44 Hyundai Service Department! I took my 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe (which I bought new in 2020 from you), in for an oil change on March 8th. While I was waiting I got two text messages from the service department telling me that my car needed an alignment, fuel injection service and the front and rear brakes done. The bill would have been over $1,200 if I had all of that done by them. I was suspicious right away because last August, way less than a year ago, I purchased four new tires and had an alignment done at that time. No way that I would need another one in that short amount of time! So my son recommended a local mechanic that has a shop really close to my house, so I took it there the other day and surprise, surprise, my car needed NONE of those things! The mechanic, (super nice and also honest), told me that for the fuel injection service nonsense, just buy premium gas once or twice or month. And he told me that the car did NOT need an alignment and that my brakes and at least another 3 to 4000 miles before they would need to be serviced! RT 44 Hyundai, you should be ashamed of yourselves for trying to take advantage of your customers by recommending services that your car clearly does not need. Everyone should stay AWAY from RT 44 Hyundai. I'll never own another Hyundai and I'm certainly NEVER going back there for service! RIP OFF!!!!! read more

BUYER AND LESSEE BEWARE!! I leased a vehicle from this dealership in May of this year. 1. They told me that the payoff to Hyundai Finance, for my prior lease, was $300.00 more than it should have been. I find out after I leased another vehicle from them that this was a "purchase option fee". I did not purchase the vehicle at the end of the lease....the dealership did. They refuse to reimburse me the $300.00 I paid for THEM. They say "Take it up with Hyundai". Hyundai could do nothing because it is a "dealership issue" (which they must have known...). NOTE: I obtained the services of the Better Business Bureau and the Attorney General's Office. Hyundai still refuses to re-imburse me the $300.00, claiming they already gave me a $500.00 "loyalty" discount, which, by the way, I had to shame them into after I leased my new vehicle, as I discovered that other dealerships were offering this and they were not. This had NOTHING to do with the $300.00 they swindled me out of. After 15 years of doing business with this dealership, I am appalled . If they are a privately owned dealership, they have the authority to do whatever they want, and they REFUSE to make this right. Lesson to be learned...if you buy or lease from this dealership, scrutinize your contract before signing, even if it takes 4 hours. I trusted them...my mistake... Originally went 4 years ago to buy a new Tuscon. Upon asking to be able to test drive a new car on a Friday afternoon I was told by the salesperson that he'd like me to come in on Sat as that's not as busy and since he has a family to provide for and if I was not serious about buying a car at that point, he'd like to reserve Fri for serious customers.. so that was 1 strike and I went and bought that Saturday in Milton at Hyundai.... Second issue... Went for oil change on a coupon issued by them only for them to say well your oil is special but we will honor it however you need brakes and rotors to the tune of $700+ for front only.. I went to my mechanic and was charged $430 for brake pads only and he showed me why I didn't need rotors yet. Third issue is having an issue with the lock actuator on the gas door. I was not able to open my gas door to get gas....I googled and researched to find a common issue on 2022 /2023. Went to service department to ask if someone could look at it. I was told that it was $180 for diagnostics. If it was covered under warranty then they would waive that fee. At the time I bought my car I had bought a warranty so I asked her about that. She said she couldn't see my warranty in the service. She would have to wait for finance to look up my warranty. Well that was 3 weeks ago and she never got back to me so I got back to her only to get the same runaround. I have contacted Hyundai headquarters themselves. Right now we are in a case pending their diagnostics which was already diagnosed by my mechanic has the lock actuator and he gave me the part number. I just don't think I will ever buy a Hyundai. I bought 2024 Elantra it's junk. everything is made cheap. The plastic is hard to clean very cheap and the seats are not comfortable when driving long distance. My 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe was having a problem with burning oil , it's an ongoing problem with the vehicle. My engine blew and I had it towed to the dealership. I was advised due to not having a software update in 2019 my extended warranty is no longer covered. They want to charge me 7300 to replace my engine . Sales person was very rude and hung up on me because I didn't want to pay over MSRP for their car but then because I wanted to get what the value was on my truck they got all upset, give me a break they would have took that truck in and got 3,000 more than they would have given me. If you want a rude salesperson and pushy as can be just call Route 44 they will fix you up. They want you to come in and just do what they want you to and when you negotiate they don't don't like it. Old: Suspending future services until processes are improved will be the next best step When asked how long would it take to fix; I get told "couple of hours". I asked how much approx; get told 2 hours. I go after 2.5 hours; I get told we don't know how long it will take but will be done by the time we leave for the day (for me that would mean 4.5 hours). After an agitated wait of 4.5 hours; I look at the 2 problems I had; 1 got fixed; for the other one they tell me they will need to order a part. That's not the end of it; they also tore the water bottle crate in my car; so the bottles were all over the place & left a screw driver in the car! I hope no one ever has to get such a STUPID service ever again Update June 2020: So, I didn't know we could buyout our leased Hyundai car from any dealership & you didn't necessarily need to go to the dealership you leased from. So, I had another encounter with Route 44 Hyundai Story: I planned to pay in full to buy out my leased car Total Residue: 11734.25 (The same was confirmed on Hyundai Finance website as well on my phone calls with the dealership) On my visit, my total changed to 13392.25 Breakdown: Lease buy out= 11734.25 Full payment fee= 990 (Still not sure what the hell is this, when asked I was told this is the fee since you aren't financing with us) Non-Tax fee= 170 (Apparently this is for the title) Document fee = 498 (This one's fair and standard, so no questions) I didn't buy out from this place, because I luckily learnt that I could do this with any dealership and not with them, but wanted to share my experience to show how FILTHY this place is. Can't even say they pulled a bait & switch they didn't have any models available; called prior to going to verify they had inventory of the vehicle my son wanted to buy and we were assured they did. When we arrived at the dealership the car "had just sold" the car we called about just 40 earlier along with all the similar inventory but they did have similar used that actually cost more than a new one, really?. It's really funny how the sales people hand out their business cards with a referral bonus on the back when they can't even be bothered to return a phone call. I purchased a vehicle about 2 and a half weeks ago and while the first part of my experience would have earned this place 5 stars my subsequent interactions (or lack there of) tainted the whole experience. The salesperson was super helpful, they gave me a great deal on my trade in and I was happy to take my car home that day. Upon arriving home I realized my car had no car mats. I call and leave a message for the salesperson. He calls me back the next day leaves a message and I call him back less than five minutes later, had to leave a message again. I don't hear from him the next day so I call again and was told he was off for 2 days, fine. In the meantime it takes 3 days to schedule a windshield replacement because the sales people never sent my paperwork to service and once again no one returns messages. At this point I am fed up and email the sales manager to let him know about my experience. I understand that I would not be getting the same attention as they already have my money but to not even answer a simple yes or no question about car mats is just ridiculous. Needless to say I got crickets from the sales manager. Spoiler alert, I never heard back from the salesman either. Was in touch regarding a vehicle that came in a couple days ago, told I would be driving from an hour away on Saturday to test drive. Checked numerous times and literally an hour before I left about showing up for a test drive. Spoke to Trevor before I left, and he said the vehicle was right out front. When I arrived and walked around, vehicle was not there. Finally someone came up and told me it was sold yesterday. I could understand if it was sold on my way up but the day before!! You have wasted my time on 2 separate occasions now. First time no less than 10 times you called us offering 125% for our trade.  You finally convince us to come and you do not even meet 100% of the KBB trade in value. Not even 2 days later we receive a flyer in the mail that you are offering about $4000 over KBB. So I contact the dealership via email to ask about it. The internet manager assures me through 15 emails back and forth that they would honor whatever is on the flyer even after I explained to him about the previous experience. He said, "It puts all the leverage in the customer's hand." So again I agree to come in. Well shame on me for not breaking out my magnifying glass to read the microscopic fine print.  They would not give me what they stated for my trade.  As if that was not enough, the flyer stated it also was giving $4500 in incentives AND 0% interest for 72 months. If I could give them less than one star I would. It took them almost 3 weeks to refund a "100% refundable deposit to lock in a sales quote" and only after telling me I wasted his time. They ran my credit even after I specified I did not want them to until I was ready to agree to any costs. I ended up buying a Hyundai, but not from them. Checked online to see what dealers were open Sunday and Hyundai said they were open. Pulled up and saw lots of customers in the lot which felt like a good sign. All entrance doors had the hours that were posted online but the doors were all locked. The customers outside hadn't tried to go in yet and were shocked when I told them the doors were locked. Very disappointing experience to drive to dealers and have them be closed when online/doors say open. Going to check out Hyundai another day but will go to a difference dealership instead. read more

I bought two cars here over the past 6 years, and could not recommend a better place for buying a new car. Everything from preliminary car selection over the phone, to paperwork, to actual car delivery was very smooth and happened without a hold up. I talked to John in the internet sales department who helped me select the exact car I would be buying, send me a quote and give me the price that no other dealership could match. When I stopped by a day later, the car was ready for a test driver, and the paperwork was ready to be processed. Overall process took about 1.5 hours. A few days later I received a car with registration, inspection sticker delivered to my door steps. What more can one ask for when buying a new car? Needless to say that this was not a fluke, since both of my car purchases were excellent! read more

Post sales service was horrible and I had to call and follow up time and again to get responses. Their internal team co-ordination is pathetic and i was just bouncing from one person to another to get my issues addressed (which were not addressed anyway) When at the end i went to their dealership for the questions and concerns I had their Sales Manager Brett Vivieros not only was absolutely rude, but was also insulting. He started walking away making the situation even worse than before without the whole story. He said, "I do not have time for this". He was especially mad to know that I had not given their dealership a 10/10 score in the survey form. Like heck I would. Zero regards for how the problem could be solved and customer care. Today I went in to look at a few vehicles and evaluate my options with a family member. I had previously purchased and leased from route 44 Hyundai. I have never been more embarrassed or offended in my life than i was today by the way I was spoken to. Brett Viveiros, the Internet Sales Manager, was extremely aggressive, condescending and ultimately refused to do business with me. Immediately he directed his conversation at my family member and did not even address me. When presenting the monthly payments he continued to raise his voice until he was yelling. He even went as far as saying, "Of course Toyota and GMC can offer better discounts, they retain their value much better than we do", when we brought up a competitors promotion. Dealing with cars salesmen is never a pleasant experience, but this was ridiculous. To speak to another human in such a degrading manor is disgusting, I will absolutely never do business with this company again. Wow. Where shall I begin. First off, we were greeted by a newer sales representative, Emilio, who also assisted us as we test drove a Kona EV. I had been searching high and low for this vehicle, so you can imagine my excitement finally finding a dealership that has one on the lot. Emilo was very kind, so no complaints there. However, once we started talking numbers, one of the managers, Michael, came out to basically tell me that I could not afford the car and made it very clear he had no interest in working with us. As a family who has collectively had four electric vehicles and does ample research prior to going to any dealership, we know that there is a federal (and MA state) tax rebate for electric vehicles, for both leases and financing. Michael said that to lower the impact of the price, I, myself, can claim the federal tax rebate, whether I would lease or finance the vehicle. My father explained to him that the federal tax rebate can only be claimed by the customer when they purchase the vehicle. Michael did not agree and insisted that the customer can claim the credit, even when leasing. We knew for a fact that what Michael was claiming was incorrect, so my father asked him to check with his GM. Low and behold, Michael came back and informed us that we were in fact correct. Strike 1. Shortly thereafter, my father asked if when leasing, if this dealership is willing to pass on the federal tax rebate to the customer. Michael said that they don't do that and that the customer is responsible for claiming the rebate. But that's not how it works. My father explained that he has had experience leasing an electric vehicle and Chevy chose to pass the federal tax rebate to him. Michael started to get slowly enraged as he exclaimed, "well we're not Chevy," which made us more than slightly uncomfortable. He then pulled the numbers for what financing and leasing the vehicle would look like. That's when the additional unspoken fees and charges came to light. We saw the breakdown of the bottom line price and to our dismay, we discovered that there is a $5,000 "market adjustment." When I saw this fee, I finally realized that I had wasted mine and my father's time coming to this dealership. If they had verbally told us about this extra fee prior to Michael's irate rants, I would've not even entertained the idea of purchasing the vehicle at this dealership. Strike two. He then started arguing with my father that the federal tax rebate is in fact "not a rebate, it's a tax deduction." Strike three. I sincerely hope that Michael hires an accountant to do his taxes, since he clearly does not know the difference between a tax rebate and a tax deduction...but I digress. Moral of this story is that you should not come to the Route 44 Hyundai dealership, ESPECIALLY if you're looking to purchase an electric vehicle. My family and I were treated extremely poorly. I'm not certain if this is due to me being a woman, me being young, or my family being people of color. Also, Michael, if you see this, I know a lot of accountants in Massachusetts who would be delighted to do your taxes for you. read more

The deal blew up, because the sales manager tried to hide an additional $2k of costs in the lease price. Beware of Typical Used Car Salesman Tactics: I drove more than an hour to check out a car here that I was interested in buying. At first things were going smoothly, but as soon as it came to trying to price a car and you've shown interest, they move numbers around to make it seem like you're getting a great deal even when they're marking up the sticker price by $3000-$4000. I know what this economy is like, however, make sure to do your research first on what the actual value is of the car you're purchasing. They talked about "building equity on a new car once it's driven off the lot," which is bit misleading due to the current used car economy's chip shortage. Stick to the information, MSRP (and go on the actual website for the distribution), and what you can comfortably afford in case you go to trade your car in for something else when the market turns around. Avoid getting stuck in the "monthly payment" pricing that they try to steer your attention towards and ask for the TOTAL COST of the car. Again, they were avoidant of this and focused on the monthly payment, even though money was just being moved around in different ways (financing, down payment, etc.) Also-bring a calculator so you can follow how much they're negotiating off of each offer. I kept a record on my phone and numbers were just being moved around to look like I was getting money off from each negotiation. The actual price they were offering me never changed much. Look at the breakdown of the costs and actually see if you're getting a good deal. Make sure to check out the MSRP on whatever car you're interested in on the manufacturer's website. If you can secure auto financing first from a credit union, do so. You will probably save $$ in the long run and can focus on the actual cost of the vehicle. Even if you accept their financing, at least you have multiple options to compare rates to. It was funny, I kept asking for the APR, and I never received an actual figure. They just kept going back to the "monthly payment" of the vehicle. Unfortunately, this type of thing isn't uncommon, however, the used car salesman tactics and pressure to sign and buy immediately was apparent and frustrating here. They don't like if you do your research first, and tend to throw a bunch of terms/phrases around to make you think you're getting a great offer and that if you don't buy immediately that you'll miss out. My favorites were "I can't promise this deal will be available tomorrow," and "This car will sell quickly if you don't buy it today." FYI: I was eyeing this particular vehicle for a few weeks, and it's still available. I've bought my fair share of cars; I've worked with many auto dealerships. This one seemed desperate for me to accept their offer and hesitant to give me real space to think about what I would be spending. I walked out and wouldn't return. read more

Be VERY VERY CAREFUL with this dealer. They are DISHONEST. They gave a me a good price to trick me into their place, and then refused to honor the price. I was initially contacted by a guy, John, from their internet sales team. He offered me a quote slightly better than the best one I had in hand. I was very careful to check with him if there is any hidden fee in that quote, such as destination fee, cash rebates, financing incentives. He was a little ambiguous to answer some of my questions, but overall he gave me an impression that he intended to give me a good price. Therefore I decided to accept his invitation to visit his office. It took me 50 min to drive to Route 44. When I was there, John only showed up briefly to say hello and quickly referred me to another salesperson. Things started to go downhill from that point. The salesperson argued that the price offered by John included cash incentives from the manufacturer. I confronted him with my email communication with John. Then he offered to lower the price a little, which is still more than $1000 higher than what John offered. I tried to reason with him with no vail, and finally I had enough, and politely asked him to confirm the price with John. Then a manager came to me, and gave me a ridiculous price, apparently trying to have me leave the office. I am a very honest person, and feel very sad when people treat me like this. April26,2019 So I just bought a 2015 Santa Fe from them March 25, 2019. Joe our salesman was great, made it super easy, no playing games. But I agree with everyone's review on here, THEY SUCK AT PHONE CALLS. SERVICE IS TERRIBLE. But when you get there in person, THE PLACE IS Completely EMPTY, What are you so busy doing that you can't call back a customer that just spent 15k CASH ?! Anyway, I was calling to let them know that my mechanic said both rear shocks are leaking and there was a slight oil leak, I contacted them TWICE and no one ever called me back, it took about a week and I FINALLY GOT AN ACTUAL PERSON on the phone. I get an appt and I tell them I'm a traveling massage therapist, I work privately for the Pats, I NEED a car, will I get a rental in replace of it? Michelle told me yes if the part wasn't in and they had to order it... AND that's just what Matt, the "service manager" told me in a voicemail, "the parts have to be ordered and they won't come in for a few days, so you can come get your car or leave it here with us". As you can imagine I was a little confused and dissatisfied. I called him back and what you know, he's not there, leave a voicemail. Left one and it's been 24hrs I have not heard from him. Might I add that they had texted me and asked if I would like to be kept updated THRU text, I replied yes and THEY STILL CALLED ME to update. What was the point of that? I couldn't answer, I was with patients!! I'm wondering if I should have stayed with Jeep or Honda! Calls were always returned promptly and they were always so eager to help! I never felt like a burden! I was so hopeful this experience would turn out good but so far, NOT GOOD. ALSOOO when I went to drop my car off, there was no one at the service desk to help me figure out where to put my keys, I've never done this here before and had no clue. I saw two ladies standing at the paperwork desk so I went over and asked them, and they both looked at me like I was stupid, and they did not seem eager to want to help me. She described it to me and still I had no clue what she was talking about so finally After me saying "and where is this Dropbox cause I don't see it " one of them finally took me over to it. Don't understand why that was such a hard thing for her to do! ALL THEY WERE DOING IS CHATTING! They weren't even working! Not good customer service. Would you want to be treated like that? I hope I can change this review later on. But it's doubtful! May 1st 2019 UPDATE: Sadly nothing improved with that Hyundai dealership. After I left my review here april26, I went up there to get my vehicle back and the service guy, Matt, was just unbelievably rude, first thing he says to me after I told him my story, " well Im Matt and I wasn't working yesterday but there are three Matt's that work here " ... turned into a whole other problem because no one could forgive out who spoke to me! Yet I had actually text and voicemail proof! Needless to say I said please give me my keys I am taking my car to 1st Hyundai in Attleboro. He then says ok let me go get my manager really quick. Guy comes out, didn't introduced himself just goes " how are you" .... My mother and I just looked at each other and I turned back and said "not good did he not tell you everything ?! " ... If I can't even get a hold of anyone for basic questions, why would I entrust you to fix my vehicle! . I took my keys and the paperwork and I was gone! Told him find my review on yelp. Now to this morning. May 1st Upon arrival to 1st Hyundai in Attleboro everyone was smiling Nd welcoming, AND the representative I had talked to on the phone!!!! WAS THE ACTUAL ONE THAT HELPED ME! Having a face to someone's name, that is working on my car, IS THEE BEST FEELING. Lisa then checks my car in AND WHAT DO YOU KNOW !!!! THERES A RECALL ON A PART IN MY ENGINE !!!!!!!!! "BAIT AND SWITCH" Do not waste your time or money at Route 44 Hyundai. Dishonest, deceptive and unethical business practices is what I experienced today. I inquired yesterday about a pre owned 2014 Honda Accord EX-L with 15K miles. Their salesman, Michael Mullin emailed me stating the car was available. Here is my communication time line today in setting up an appointment to test drive the car. 7:47am. I send Michael an email stating my wife and I would like to come down today around 11-12pm to test drive the car. I ask him in the email to please confirm this. 9:45am. Michael replies back to my email stating, " Yes, that works out fine. I am here 11-12pm. Ask for me when you arrive" 11:54am. I attempt to call Michael on his phone number he provided 508-967-3651 to inform him we were running late and would be there around 12:30pm. The phone kept ringing and ringing with no VM or ability to leave a message? Really? So I email him informing him we would be arriving around 12:30pm. We drive 45 minutes to get to the dealership. We arrive around 12:50pm and wait for Michael. As he greets us he states, "I TRIED TO CATCH YOU. THE ACCORD YOU'RE INTERESTED IN SOLD THIS MORNING, BUT I HAVE A 2011 ACCORD WITH 89K MILES ON IT I CAN SHOW YOU" As educated, informed consumers, you think to yourself the following: If the car sold this morning, why didn't Michael CALL ME to inform me of this so we would not have wasted over 2 hours of our time and gas driving to the dealer? Knowing the car sold "THIS MORNING" Why did he still confirm the appointment with me at 9:45am by email and NOT CALL ME? Knowing my wife and I were on our way driving why would he send me an email at 12:15pm and still NOT CALL informing us that the car was sold. ANSWER: MY FIRST PARAGRAPH ABOVE OF THIS REVIEW. Again, do not waste your time here. Read all the other reviews on Yelp. After we left Route 44 very upset, we drove to Bernardi Honda up the highway. The sales personnel there were very professional, courteous, honest, and customer service focused, unlike Route 44. They will get our business. read more
