The waitstaff could be more inviting when you come into the restaurant. The first attempt to eat here the waitress apologized and said it would be a 40 minute wait as a trove of people arrived between 5 - 5:30 pm when we arrived. We told her we'd come back another time. Two days later we arrived around 4:30 ish, and the young lady from way behind the counter, without saying hello or welcome, pointed us to a table. Our assigned waitress was pleasant but we had to flag her down twice for more beverages, it wasn't really busy yet and three wait staff were talking amongst each other. In any case if you don't mind this type behavior this place will suit you, but if you're a large group it may be somewhat challenging to be waited on with a professional attitude. We stayed a week in lovely Brighton and the restaurant was across the street but we didn't bother trying this place for a third time.

If I hadn't had the chips, and an English attitude (i.e. embarrassed to complain) I would've sent it straight back. When the girl collected the plates I gave feedback. She then brought a feedback card to complete and I got 10% off my chilli. To be honest, I wish I'd said straight away as I literally didn't want to pay anything for it. I'd definitely go back to try some more of the really appealing cocktail menu though, one of the best I've seen in a while.
