I had a less than stellar experience at The Breakfast Club in Brighton Beach yesterday. Our reservation (party of 5) was for 1 pm. We were put in a booth in the very back corner. I honestly think our waiter forgot about us because it took 50 minutes just to get our mimosas. We had not been given water or anything in the meantime. Around 2:15, our waiter came and said our order had not gone through and that he was putting it in again. At this point, we were hungry and annoyed after being there for over an hour. The food was okay but nothing special and definitely not worth the wait. I got the pancake special. The pancakes were dry and bland. The potatoes were okay. My friends got eggs, bacon, etc. Overall, we didn't think it was anything to brag about. I probably will not return. Not something to go out of your way for!

We came here for lunch today and I would definitely recommend coming here! We started with a cocktail and it was incredible (we had a second one ;)) and ordered the Daddy MacHaggis sandwich and blueberry and bacon pancakes. Both were generous portions and delicious!

I was recommended the Breakfast Club by a friend who is a fan of their London branches, but who hadn't tried this recently opened Brighton branch. I had heard mixed reviews of this one, but really wanted to give it a try for myself. My partner and I went for brunch one morning while our little one was at nursery, a rare child free dining opportunity! I really liked the decor, a quirky art deco theme with lots to draw the eye. The staff were really lovely too, and the ice was quickly broken when we immediately knocked over the pot of sugar on the table, an occurrence that happens on a daily basis according to our waitress. The menu is extensive so it's hard to choose, but I plumped for an old favourite of eggs benedict with a side of fried potatoes. My partner went for the American style pancakes with a side of chorizo. All was very delicious, my only complaint would be that my eggs were slightly under cooked, and nobody enjoys a snotty egg white! Alongside the food, we had an Americano and an Earl Grey tea. If i'd have had a little more room, I would have loved to have tried the salted caramel milkshake, maybe next time. I do think it's pretty expensive for what you get, but the atmosphere and staff were great so I will be back. It's also great for kids and I can't wait to bring my little one here when he's just a little bit bigger,

I have to note the gluten free option here, because it was a good one. I asked about my options and was told that any of the Eggs Benedict/Royale/Florentine, etc could be made on a butternut squash stack. I didn't really know what a butternut squash stack was, to the point where when my plate arrived I said "is that on bread?" "No, it's on a butternut squash stack." Turns out, quite a nice way to eat a plate of Eggs Royale. Maybe actually better than the usual gluten free option of Very Hard Toast or Nothing At All. I daresay I'd enjoy eggs, salmon and sauce on a butternut squash stack even if I could eat English muffins. Yum.

Enjoy my 1st #thebreakfastclub outside the London Canary Wharf location . Such tasty chicken wrap and chips . Fast efficient service and very large generous

The vibe in there was very nice and the staff was friendly however my food came late and it wasn't presented very nicely It did taste good though

The waitress asked us to wait a minute and came back with an allergy book and was able to go through the choice and see if any other ingredients included gluten.

Excellent food served quickly and with kind baristas and servers! I ordered the avo & smoked salmon…read moresmash, and was served my flat white within 5 minutes with the food arriving about 5 more minutes after that. The price point of 12.75 for the food + 3 for the flat white felt reasonable, although I am still acclimating to using pounds (first day here!). Music playing was soft and pleasant, and the seating was plentiful and clean. Definitely recommend this as a quick breakfast stop!

Then when I…read morestumbled in this one in Ship Street I decided to try it, for my first meal in this city because had read the good review that Kerry G. made about it. The place was really busy but I managed to find a free table outside and spent several minutes looking at the menu and I couldn't decide what to eat as everything sounded so appealing. After making up my mind I chose the falafel, olives and feta on flat bread and an orange juice. The staff seemed really friendly, because you order at the counter but they bring it to your table. My lunch was yummy. Not a super meal, more like a quick bite for lunch but was quite good and the falafel wasn't too crunchy and hard as I experienced before. I decided to not stay for coffee as I wanted to try some other cafés but overall the place was a really good choice for lunch. Nice decor with a few tables to have a seat outside in the sun, pleasant staff, free wifi and a good spot for people-watching (my favourite sport!!).

This is a humble independent cafe selling decent coffee and excellent home cooked food. The owner Elina hails from the Oseta region of south Russia and has brought some of the local cooking knowledge with her to breezy Brighton, and you can tell. The food is exquisite, cooked to perfection and the menu is packed with inventive recipes. Specials change regularly and there is plenty of choice on the regular menu. I recommend the Oseta's House, a delightful dish of scrambled egg with halloumi, tomato, and spinach... it really is to die for! Coffee is good (to this writer's taste buds anyway, but I'm no coffee aficionado) and there are plenty of other choices on the drinks menu. Honestly, if you haven't been here you need to get down immediately. Right now. Drop what you're doing this instant. You won't regret it.

I had the avocado and smoked salmon on sourdough the first time and the fennel sausage and lentil stew the second time. I also had a brilliant fresh lemon and ginger tea and the staff were brilliant - really chatty and friendly, but not invasive. It was the right balance between informal and professional and I really appreciated it. I even left with a slice of Guinness cake (which was to die for). I really love this little spot, and certainly will be back to try the meat and cheese dishes.
