Last night I had the best burger I've had in Brighton.
My son and I had been in the area lately, staying at a hotel nearby and we were surprised at the lack of enthusiasm from the restaurants on the Marina.
Around 15 separate restaurants at the Marina and they were hardly inspiring whatsoever.
We'd enter a restaurant, look at the menu and just walk out without a second thought.
None of the staff cared whatsoever like this was a daily occurrence.
However, the final restaurant we discovered was a 'gourmet burger restaurant' -- which was almost an oxymoron on the Marina.
We ordered two burgers after being greeted by a cheerful party of 5. They were giddy and joyous. They walked over and hugged us and offered a picture of us two. We happily agreed and that put a good taste in our mouth.
Not too many people were inside, but this was understandable considering it was around 10 pm on a Wednesday.
The restaurant was cozy and relaxing, the music was upbeat and people were laughing and the staff were smiling -- but not like those fake smiles people are forced to put on -- genuine, happy smiles like everyone was having a good time.
We both ordered a burger and a side of fries, and the smell was enough to make us salivate.
After a short wait, which now seems was the perfect amount of time to soak in the atmosphere, our food arrived and we were gasping at the amount of dedication put into assembling the burgers.
We both ate our burgers, oozing with love like the chefs had really enjoyed making them.
We're both pescatarians, so we were a bit wary about going to a burger restaurant - even after seeing the "Five Guys" burger restaurant that served Bacon Milkshakes, but we were happily surprised by this one.
I lived in America for a long time and this place is very reminiscent of a Bob's Big Boy, but with very enthusiastic staff and a more vegan/ vegetarian-friendly atmosphere.
Highly recommend, we'll be going back tonight and as long as we stay here at the Marina.
