Sold. Had to give it a try as I had not had a burger in a few days and needed some beef. It was very very good. At least a 4.5, as their is not much I could complain about. Wonderful taste. Meat done properly. Cheese melted. And the fries were just slightly crispy outside and soft inside, just the way I like them. I topped it off with the slow cooked and oven baked apple & raspberry finished with crumble, topped with vanilla ice cream. In heaven. 'nuff said. Oh. Pretty good service but when they get busy the wait staff are stretched a bit.

I have to say this place was a very nice surprise. The food was pretty good, definitely exceeded my expectations on all fronts. It was relatively inexpensive too. Parking is easy it's right beside the restaurant; we took an Uber though. We had 2 appetizers (fried seafood mix & toasted bread topped w tomato and garlic), 2 main entrees (chicken w mushroom in white wine sauce & homemade pasta w fresh Devonshire crab) , and one dessert to share (triple chocolate). Total came out to about 50 pounds. All in all it was a good experience. I took off a star because it took a long time for the food to come and it wasn't even busy when we ordered. Pizza's were authentic and way better than Pizza Hut, Xpress and Prezzo, but with little innovation over the years it became bland. 2. Prezzo moved in and confused the world by selling counterfeit italian food but some folk seem to think thats fine 3. East Grinstead is becoming a ghost town and there are far too any restos for the number of people. A pity because on the whole it was good and gave a pleasant alternative to Nizam and Farola, but now replaced with portuguese rest and thats quite good.

At check in i was recommended to Zeno by the manager at the hotel, i am usually dubious of recommendations from hotels, i always assume there's some collusion going on, but i checked the place out online and although there were very few reviews on Yelp they were positive so i took the plunge. The restaurant was literally 3 mins away from my hotel and walking in there's a small bar on your right and many tables both left and right. I was greeted by a very friendly host who seated my right away at a small table by the window on a relatively quiet Monday evening. The menu had a varied selection of Italian classics and some chef inspired creations utilizing fresh seafood and offerings from the land, all looked and sounded delicious. I went for the bruschetta app and i am so glad i did, delicious garlic toast rounds topped with super fresh tiny tomatoes with arugula, olive oil and balsamic drizzle, one of the best i've ever had. For mains i went for a very simple chicken with mushrooms and garlic in a cream sauce tossed with ziti, topped with fresh grated parmesan cheese, another outstanding choice! My only regret is that i was too full to try a dessert, based on the food i'd had i'm sure the desserts would have also been fantastic. The relaxing dining room is bright and cheerful but yet still retains a feeling of intimacy, a great place for families and couples alike.

Location: placed in a really inopportune place (just opposite Taj Mahal and a bit further down) this is basically the area of town most businesses die, they pop up and finish. it's just a bit from the high street that you won't randomly come across it unless you're walking from the railway pub -which makes the success of this place purely down to reputation and very little walk in i'd hazard a guess. Note: Almost every time i've been i've been offered a shot of limoncello complimentary - when i've been driving its been a sad moment to turn it away. Atmosphere: This is where I would say its not my scene, but it is probably my families. It has sort of a early 00s vibe, in terms of decor, and furnishings. The architecture of the build doesn't lend itself to a warm environment (one long room). But these things never deter me, as it is an odd gem in Crawley, a see of chains has overwhelmed the town, and Taormina has succeeded against the odds!
