Reasonably sized restaurant, run locally with a wide menu. Worth visiting. Closed Sundays.

Seafood Bar Caviar House & Prunier (North & South Terminals, Gatwick Airport)…read moreOK so call me a snob and for all that it is outrageously expensive it is The Place to Eat airside, in fact anywhere in Gatwick and for several miles around; period! As a frequent flyer, hand baggage only, I escape the interminable queues of Check-In but that still leaves the dehumanizing gauntlet of SECURITY! Stripped of hat, coat, jacket, belt and shoes the romance of air travel is truly long since dead, BUT once through to the Other Side and dressed once more (seriously though I expect we will soon be reduced to travelling in hospital gowns!) the Seafood Bar offers an island of tranquility and civilization and the prefect place to recover before, The Rush for the Gate! The food is simple, fresh, light, elegant and easy eating. Tonight I am on a late flight to Glasgow and half a dozen oysters with a squeeze of lemon and a dash of Tabasco sauce accompanied by a half (this doing things by halves has got to stop!) bottle of Albarino, a white wine from Galicia (though originally the white grapes presumably came from the Rhine valley (alba Rino)) and a refreshing somewhat more gutsy change from the more usual Sauvignon Blancs make the wait for my flight to be called no longer something that has to be endured but rather, something to savor. And of course half the fun of being here are the people the dream women on her way by Easy Jet to Geneva where, disappointingly, she will join her husband for a week in their mountain cottage but in order to make the flight tolerable she buys a take-away of Kamchatka crab at a cool £39, The two Middle Eastern business men who rushed to the bar, ordered a bottle of champagne (also £39 remarkably cheap for the Seafood Bar!) and caviar (£186 not so cheap) and you know what they say about pandas, well it was not quite the same, more a case of scoffs, gulps and goes all in the space of 10 minutes. I get my camera out to take a picture of the trio opposite (it turns out that they are en-route to Thailand but first the man next to me says that's a big one and of course he gets his out, a nice little, light, underwater job (everything that mine isn't!) and just the thing for a diving trip of an island of Kuala Lumpur. Oysters now finished, wine bottle drained, conversations still going but Time to Fly. So until the next time!

I like good caviar very much and always buy a caviar from your shops if i have a chance. I have been shopping in Geneva, Zurich, Dubai, London, Paris and other shops. My favorite caviar is Heritage, Imperial and Beluga.I have bought caviar three time for last two week. I have bought 125g of Imperial caviar in Zurich airport, what was absolutely gorgeous.on the 4th of September 2013 I have bought 125g of Beluga caviar in London Harrods and it was absolutely delicious too. But on 5th of September 2013 i have bought one 125g of Beluga caviar for myself and 50g of Beluga caviar for a present in London Gatwick airport, South terminal. this was totally disappointment . The tin wasn't completely full, was liquid, contents too much water inside and the color was different that i got use to ( was too black), the grains of roe were not round and perfect. The taste was different too. I am not professional in caviar, but i have a lot of experience and i pretty much sure that i have got different quality of caviar for the price of Beluga caviar. We wanted to buy Imperial Caviar, but sale assistance had told us that Imperial Caviar is not very fresh and Beluga Caviar is much nicer and Fresh and have got the same price. So we had chosen Beluga Caviar. I don't know what quality of caviar have got my friend to whom i gave a present, but i afraid that same to myself. We saved the Check for our purchase for 1160 GBP. We have been served with sale assistance Jane.I have written an e-mail to the retailer of Caviar House and Prunier in Gatwick on 9th of September, but i have never got an answer from them.I was very disappointed because i have paid a lot of money for good quality and haven't got it. finaly, On 20th of September I have received the answer from main office of Caviar House and Prunier. They are going to make a refund of my last purchase and would like to offer me a tin of caviar. That is how all the management could solve the problem. Everybody could make a mistake, but very important how the problem is going to be solve in the end. I have been loyal customer for long period of time and after this I would definitely come back to Caviar House and Prunier again if I would have a chance and would recommend Caviar House and Prunier to my friends. They do have best quality of caviar and they are trying the best to guarantee good quality to the customers.

Bryce's claims to be the premier fish dining venue for fresh fish in the south. A brave claim as…read moreit's located in the heart of deepest, darkest Surrey a fair distance from the sea. I have a friend who loves seafood and so we headed off together in search of pescatorian perfection. The restaurant is located in a small Surrey village and is slightly hard to spot - we managed to drive right past it the first time through the village. It wasn't terribly busy when we dined, which enabled the staff to be nicely attentive. We dined in the restaurant though they do serve a cheaper menu in the bar. The menu is exclusively seafood, so beware if you're a carnivore of vegetarian. No such problems for me and my friend and we settled on crab risotto and langoustine bisque for starters and red mullet with ginger broth and scallops en croute for our mains. The crab risotto was nice but the dish could have done with another element, maybe some texture to break up the fact that every spoonful tasted the same. The langoustine bisque was again nice though I'm not the substitution of langoustine for the traditional bisque seafood ingredients brought any freshness to the concept of bisque The red mullet had an oriental foil to play against - this worked well for quite a strong fish to be balanced with the ginger. The scallops en croute was really not a success in my book - odd use of such a magnificent ingredient as sweet scallop. I applaud Bryce's for its ambition, bravery and skill in keeping a pure seafood restaurant going for 16 years in its little village location. However, due to price and remote location, I don't see myself rushing back to eat here anytime soon. The food was above average rather than stellar

I ordered a gin tonic and it came into this very tiny glass. Little gin tonic was over 10 euros. Moving over to the food, the menu is a mix and match of various Asian foods. I ordered a hot and sour soup with shrimp to start with and it came into this very little bowl with a couple shrimp floating inside. Taste was average, certainly not worth 8 euros or so. As a main I ordered the veggie curry with rice. Veggies were drenched in oil and very spicy (was not asked spice level). It didn't have any flavour tasted like hot spicy oil. Customer service was below average. Although waiters were available to assist when needed I didn't find them very pleasant to communicate with. They weren't very friendly or eager to help. Overall I was excited to experience a high end dining experience at the end of over a month of stressful travelling and it was a fail. I spend around 40 euros just for myself and would not do it again!

Main wise the imperial rice was acceptable the prawn in it was pretty tastey and the sizzling lamb was delish but the cashew chicken was dreadful! Not worth it do not bother. The baked raspberry cheesecake was nice but it looked like they got it out the freezer.... So yea maybe try one of the other restaurants there are another two to choose from.

Let's hope the ongoing redevelopment results in a transformation but for now the North Terminal remains my firm favourite. However, the South Terminal does have one redeeming feature and that is the Caviar Prunier Seafood Bar located just off to the left as you come airside from the main security area, or at least it was on Monday but with the ongoing alterations things are very fluid and they may have moved! Unlike all of the other seafood bars that I have seen which are set out in an island design this one is in a rather cramped space let into the wall giving it a rather claustrophobic feel BUT it is still an oasis and still serves the same range of light, fresh seafood, including of course oysters, smoked salmons, crab and for those who can afford it caviar all accompanied by a great range of wines and champagnes. Yes I am a fan and if you want somewhere special to start off a trip or to celebrate a successful business trip its well worth the time and the money.
