I ordered the 9 oz sirloin which was the perfect size for my appetite. Add a small salad and a side of mashed potatoes , and washed it down with an Argentine beer.

There were seven of us in the party- we had reservations so our table was ready as we arrived. After we were seated we were informed that all of the bottles of wine were half off (yay!). We placed our drink orders as well as orders for tapas (as starters)- empanadas, Olives, Patatas Bravas (I love Patatas Bravas- so I had to). I ordered the lychee margarita, my husband and mother in-law- the classic mojito, sister in-law- the Passion Fruit and Ginger Caipirinha, brother in-law- St Paul's `Green. My lychee Margarita was good but slightly too sweet for my taste (it was also on the rocks which was not mentioned on the menu), I really enjoyed trying the Passion Fruit and Ginger Caipirinha (recommend!) it was not to sweet, perfectly tangy and refreshing (love), the Mojitos were fairly predictable in my opinion- decent but slightly too sweet (I'm not one for sugar- but my husband agreed). My brother-in-law's St Paul's Green was also extremely sweet in my opinion. The patatas bravas was an over-all let-down, the portion size was small and the sauce left quite a bit to be desired. The olives were okay- pitted. The empanadas had a nice shell and the filling was good (recommend). As a main I ordered the lamb chops with a side of green beans. The lamb was very good- cooked medium- I felt it could use a bit more flavor but the lamb was still enjoyable. The green beans were cooked well and not soggy (yum). My husband ordered the 260g 'Ancho' (Rib-Eye) Steak- I snuck a bite and it was very, Very, good. The chimichurri sauce that his steak came with was made with dried herbs and spices however it was very flavorful. Overall the drinks were on the sweet side, service was a bit slow (Although I do understand we were a party of seven) and the food was decent.

Everything we tried was fresh and tasty and there were some really unusually fillings - lots of fancy deli stuff to choose from. Most of the salads come in under a fiver which is a bargain as the portions are huge. I might have to load mine up with a pasta of potato base, but if you're watching what you eat this is a great snacky option. And of course, if you pop down there in the next two weeks, you'll get to try out Qyper Mseasons' salad - she won the salad making competition and her salad will be on sale for everyone to try! Well worth popping into, even if it's not the first place you'd think of for lunch.

This has mainly delighted me due to trying several local salad chains to my office and missing my daily chop'd. Anyone wondering what this elusive chop'd is of which I speak? It's in essence a salad fast food chain which serves up salads made to order as you go along choosing the delights you want in your salad. Today I had lettuce, pasta, red onion, tomato, sweetcorn and ham, with a fat free dressing called sesame soy. It was delicious, as I knew it would be, because Chop'd is consistently good quality ingredients. They aren't stingy on the contents either, mine was fully loaded with all the good stuff. This chop'd branch is smaller than most, but the queue was comparitvely small (the one in spitalfields used to be about 50 deep sometimes). They have most ingredients that the big stores have, and the staff are nice. Thank god. Salad harassment via Yelp over now I've found my BFF Chop'd again.

The hostess and my server were both very friendly and kind, especially given my jetlag-fogged brain. I had to laugh at myself that we were all speaking English, but with the hostess' heavy Scottish accent and the server's Irish one, I actually had trouble understanding at first until I re-tuned my ears! Haha. I ordered the Japanese Katsu Curry Chicken bowl. The chicken and other ingredients were tossed in the wok along with noodles and the noodles had a pleasant almost "grilled" like taste. It was very tasty (not spicy at all) and a perfect-sized portion to satisfy my hunger before I crashed for the evening.

Arriving to Gatwick recently to take my flight back, the wife and i decided to grab breakfast somewhere in the airport before heading back to Los Angeles. I happened to see a few restaurants out of the corner of my eye just before security and glad we walked into Giraffe. It's hard to miss. Very colorful and bright. We were so hungry that they could have served stale bread and old pot roast and we would have probably chosen the restaurant. Fortunately, the menu was fairly expansive and included my fave breakfast food: pancakes. We were served our tea pretty quickly which we needed as we probably looked like a couple of zombies. I ordered the Strawberry pancakes. The wife took the recommendation of the server for the hash. Apparently not spicy according to the server. Apparently spicy according to the wife. Service was faster than two shakes of a lamb's tail. It gave us time to really relax after we ate before heading to security. For airport food, it was pretty good. Especially for breakfast!
