Hmmm..... I think old age is catching up with me. I thought I had reviewed this place awhile ago but not according to Yelp! These premises has been an Italian restaurant as long as I can remember. It used to be Pizza Piazza but ever since Greg Proops, the Canadian comedian called it Pizza Disaster when he was performing at Epsom Playhouse, I always had it in my mind as Pizza Disaster! I'm not sure if Greg Proops' off the cuff comment may have contributed to the demise of Pizza Piazza but Sicily has taken over and lent an upper class air to this end of Epsom's own restaurant row. The food is classical Italian. I didn't spot anything particularly Sicilian but there is a wide range of pasta, pizzas and cooked meats and seafood. As I was going salsa dancing afterwards, I didn't want anything too heavy. Hilary, my salsa dance friend and I split one of their sharing antipasto plates, which had butterfly king prawns, deep fried squid rings, smoked salmon on toasted ciabatta topped with mascarpone, prawn cocktail, breaded crab claws served with spicy tomato dip and tartare sauce I then had a spaghetti carbonara, which was nice except for the price (£8.95). Hilary was happy with her seafood risotto, which was generous with the seafood. The service was excellent - efficient and very friendly. Sicily is now probably the best Italian restaurant in Epsom. It is pricey and will therefore sadly remain a special occasion type of place but you do get your money's worth. read more

Quick glance: + superb service + patio in the back for the summer + filling and authentic dishes Full review: The restaurant has just turned 4, and despite having lived in Epsom for way longer than that, I finally visited for lunch. The outside looks unassuming, but the interior is warmly decorated with trinkets and crafts from Sicily. We were greeted by a friendly waitress on a lazy Saturday lunchtime in the winter who let us choose any seat we want. The menu offers a variety of Sicilian food, including a mini version of the arancini (fried rice balls) for starter. I was sold from that alone. The food is tasty and filling. It is a little bit pricier than some of the local Italian restaurants, but the authenticity alone is well worth the extra few quid. The place is great for romantic meals, catch-up with friends, or a large party (an upstairs area offers some privacy for large groups). read more

This is a great little find just away from the main shopping area of Epsom. The restaurant does not look as inviting from the outside as it actually was once through the doors. The surroundings are cosy and intimate. The feel of the place is quite authentic. This extends to the menu, which has a great selection of authentic dishes. The food was great and the wine selection was more than adequate for a restaurant of this size. The night I was there with my wife, there was live entertainment and this added to an already warm and comfortable ambience. I would certainly recommend this great little restaurant to others. read more

My new favorite restaurant in Epsom! Only recently opened, this place is an absolute gem. If you want something a bit different from the usual that you get served up in places like Zizzi and Ask then I urge you to give Sicily a go. The menu is to die for. I've been several times now and every dish I have had has been outstanding. Perhaps the only thing that is lacking is a bit more of an atmosphere. It does seem surprisingly quiet whenever I have been in there, but perhaps that's because word hasn't got out about how good it is. It is a short (1 min) stroll from the centre of Epsom. On a hot summer's day this makes for a perfect choice, as you can sit in their secluded back garden and enjoy your meal under the canopy of mature trees. In summary, great food, friendly staff and nice ambience. I really hope that plenty of people give this place the support they deserve, they have a real winning formula. read more

This is an amazing restaurant. Me and my partner didn't book and took a chance of going as our 1st choice (next door) was full. We were pleasantly greeted by the appearance of the manager. We were made to feel welcome. We were given menus and then that was that. We waited about 10 mins before our drink order was taken and admit that it was received quite quickly, albeit we were seated right next to the bar counter near the front of the restaurant. We did wait a while as the serving staff were busy serving large groups of people. After quite a few minutes, our order was taken which was 2 bowls of pasta and some garlic bread. The pasta arrived after 20mins and it was very good. Its worth the wait because for the good food you have to wait,any burger shop will serve you for 60 seconds. But this is authentic Italian cuisine. read more
