Such a great place! I loved the waiter, so nice, the food was hot and perfectly cooked, it was quick and welcoming, the decoration is really nice, families or friends should come every Saturday in this place! Maybe you should hire one or two waiters, but I was there a long time ago now so I'm sure it's better since. The burger looks good, chips was great, as I said it's a very nice place to enjoy good food for a cheap price, because it's not as expansive as it seems! Will come back for sure :). read more

Best wings I've had in the UK. These buffalo wings were absolutely delicious. A bit bummed I didn't get a photo but I inhaled them too quickly. Had them with the Nashville fries, which were good. The blue cheese sauce was ok but a bit too much mayonnaise. read more

MEATliquor in Brighton serves amazing burgers in amazing surroundings. I walked and drove past ML many times before realising that it was in fact a burger place and not a nightclub. I've now experienced it as a restaurant on a number of occasions, I've used their take away service, and I've also used their delivery service (via. Deliveroo) and each time has been spot on. Location: Easy to get to; less than 10 minutes from Brighton Station. They allow dogs if they are well behaved and you need to sit on the high stools by the door. Really handy. Decor: Trendy, comfortable, pleasing on the eye. Service: Excellent; the servers are always ready to recommend their favourites and can answer any questions you have with ease. Time: Probably not somewhere to go if you're in a hurry. But why would you? Food: Their chilli burger is amazing; not too spicy, and super tasty. I had their Christmas special, which is also worth a mention - it had turkey, gravy, stuffing.... the works. Seriously tasty food. I'm not a fan of onion rings but their onion rings are amazing - crunchy, oh so crunchy. They don't travel well, so I wouldn't bother ordering them for a takeaway (probably why they aren't on the delivery menu). Drinks: Their alcoholic (and regular) milkshakes are not to be missed. I tried their salted caramel milkshake recently - delicious. Their cocktail menu is extensive and excellent. Overall - I can't find one bad thing to say about MEATliquor in Brighton. I actually ventured out of London to try the XXXmas menu at MeatLiquor - it was my first visit to their branch in Brighton. I think it might actually have my favourite interior of the whole chain. Anyway, the food - top of my list to try of the festive options was their XXXmas Garbage Plate - fries, sausage & stuffing patty topped with slices of roast turkey served with gravy, cranberry sauce and crispy stuffing sprinkles. I'm a fan of fries with OTT toppings anyway (I love a good poutine) so this was always going to be my favourite. I had the XXXmas Burger too - instead of your usual beef, this burger had a sausage and stuffing patty, roast turkey, crispy bacon, gravy and cranberry sauce. It was delicious and tasted like Christmas. It was very similar in flavour to the garbage plate (obviously, since it has virtually the same ingredients) so I would suggest ordering one or the other - not both like I did! I also tried the Xmac & Cheese - deep fried camembert and stilton mac and cheese with a cranberry and port dipping sauce. These were divine. I love the regular mac and cheese bites but these were extra oozy and cheesy and the sauce was perfect. I definitely over cranberried on this meal! We also ordered from the regular menu - the Chicken Parma Burger and the Fried Pickles (my favourite side!). read more

I've been to this place once before and really didn't enjoy it - but as people rave about it so much, me and my boyfriend decided to be open minded and go for lunch today. BAD decision. The food is horrifically salty and sweet and makes it very sickly. This time around, I had the chicken and blue cheese burger; the chicken was deep fried (which isn't my cup of tea) but it wasn't even crispy because it was drenched in this sugary spicy sauce. The blue cheese was just a sweet blue cheese mayonnaise which combined with the chicken sauce made it unbearable to eat. Fries were good but again covered in salt. The staff were friendly enough and on telling our waitress about our last encounter (and her assuring me the Philadelphia steak burger that I had was awful and had been removed off the menu....not sure if that's good or bad?!) some how she made me feel hopeful for the meal ahead - I was sorely disappointed. What I hate most is that I could have spent a tenner on a burger and fries at countless places in Brighton, enjoyed it and not feel so horrendously sick now (and I left the vast majority of my meal!) - so I left feeling scammed and sickly - not a winning combination. Saving grace was they were playing some really good jazzy blues music but even that couldn't cheer the dire food situation. Lastly, the decor makes me feel on edge - patterns everywhere, dark lighting, giant florescent clowns on the walls? It was a cross between eating in a night club and a bad LSD trip. Anything served with hippy fries seems good to me. Brilliant decor don't miss the neon signs and toilets. Everything is normally served on a small metal tray not a plate. Can be greasy but what else do you expect with American deep fried food. The triple chilli eating challenge allows you to eat completely free against the clock. read more

Iv been here a couple of times now and have really enjoyed myself both times, it's Defo not a place I'd want to take my mum though. The menu is so good and has a lot of choice which I like. Cocktails were good a little pricey though. Cheese and onion fries and onion rings are a must, good burgers and am aching to go back and try the phili cheese steak. My mum wouldn't appreciate the dark lighting and loud music and being served wine in a glass tumbler. - slightly pretentious. If u have mum like preferences this place won't be for u either. I've been here twice now and the food is pretty good! I've had the halloumi burger and cheese fries which were both great. The only downfall to eating here, is the speed of service. The first time we waited ages for not only food but our check as well. I definitely wouldn't knock the establishment at all as it has some DOPE aesthetics, just don't drop in if you're in a huge rush. Otherwise, it's worth checking out! read more

Fun in a bun! This place has been one of the buzz-worthy joints of recent months seemingly dividing people into those who have and those who have not been to MEATliquor. I'm apparently compensating by going several times on behalf of those missing out on the burgery goodness. The clue is in the name. Meat and liquor await. Burgers, cheese steaks, chicken wings - feed your inner cave man! There are sides and veggie options if you're not a full on carnivore. You have a choice of bar dwelling or table service to get your fill of cocktails. I like strong drinks that twist my taste buds so you'll find me having a Fallen Angelita or two. The lovely bar staff can recommend a good beer if that's your poison. It's got the busy atmosphere of a New York dive bar with graffitied walls, fluorescent lights and people grabbing conversation between mouthfuls. The music is pretty loud so don't expect an intimate chat. There's no plates or cutlery. Armed with just serving trays and kitchen towel, it's a lip-smacking finger feast! Also note that the toilets are a corridor of unisex cubicles. Any hesitancy will soon be forgotten by the distracting wall of fun fair crazy mirrors as you wait. Oh and make sure you book a table at peak times to avoid disappointment. It promises meat and liquor and does a great job on both counts. Definitely one for a lively group meal. Perhaps impress your date with your conversation and table manners elsewhere. read more

I feel like I'm going to go on a bit in this review... So if your on the train or need to kill some time- continue to read. If not. Jog on. When this first opened, I had no clue what so ever what it was. My friend thought it was a gay bar, or a strip club. This made me chuckle. To be fair, it's not your average type of restaurant, if you look at it from the outside, it's all very dark, neon lights inside with graffiti looking art work. For those of you that still do not know, this is a burger restaurant. They do serve other food as well as burgers, but predominately they are known for this. Myself and a friend went on Friday night, we didn't book at all, but by chance we got a table. Top tip, book with this place - it was pretty busy! The interior is quite strange, but also cool. Neon strobe lights, pink, blue and yellows, with graffiti like decor. They also had butcher like chains hanging around the place which was interesting. The whole place felt a little bit like a sex dungeon. Can I just make it clear, I've never been to a sex dungeon, but I can imagine that this would be similar to one, perhaps without the food being served! We were seated next to another table, we were VERY close to the couple next to us, now if your unsociable, it wouldn't of been a good place to sit. I'm quite sociable so I engaged in small and worthless chit chat. Like.. Oooohhhh not a lot of room hey! Anyway, that was the first thing that I didn't like! The music, wow. REALLY loud. Pumping through the speakers so that if you were talking you'd have to shout or talk pretty loud. I just thought, imagine if you worked here, you'd have such a headache - I'd hate to work there hungover. He sat down next to us and started taking our order. I thought to myself, LONG SHIFT MATE? I'm not saying that he shouldn't of done that, because I don't want to sound like he is a poor man serving me the King ! But it just was unusual and too personal. I've come to eat food not make friends! So anyway, he was just really friendly and talkative. He knew a lot about the food and by the end of ordering I knew about his girlfriend, how he got this job, his pet lizards, as well as his shoe size and aspirational goals for the future. I mean, I like to chat small talk, but I never asked him about his shoe size nor his lizard, he just continued to spout a torrent amount of sh*t. The funny thing is, I just thought, the more you keep talking, the more time I've got to wait for my food! Hahahah. Anyway. I ordered a veggie burger, I'm now a veggie. I wouldn't go here if your a veggie at all. They don't have a lot of choice. So don't bother. We shared, a Greek salad, hulomi, chips . This came out on a metallic tray. And the tray was left! I'm not a traditional sort of person. But I wanted to eat on a plate not a tray!!! I'm not at school. Plus it was a tray that I had to share with someone else!!!! It was just weird. Nice sociable way to eat but not ideal. My burger was ok ... It want the best I've ever had. The bun looked cheap too. It resembled a Mac Donald's 99p cheese burger bun. I think it was over priced to be honest too. It didn't have any taste either, so I wasn't phased by it. COCKTAILS! If you like cocktails, you'd like this place. I'd come here again, JUST for drinks. So long as I didn't have a headache and came with ear plugs. It's a good place for you to bring someone if you have a friend that you don't always have much to say to, you don't really know why they are your friend because you've lost that common ground but instead you still keep the friendship up. You go to places like the cinema a lot because then you don't have to talk to each other.. So yes this place is good because the music will do the talking for you, it's really loud! They had one that was called donkey crunch or punch. It was REALLLLLLY good.ginger, lime, mint and sugar...it was £7.50 , which is standard and I also tried one with gin- this was also good! In total we had two burgers, chips, hulomi, 4cocktails, and a Greek salad. £72! I think it was pricey if I'm honest. But that's mainly because I didn't enjoy the food that much! Visited MEATliquor for the first time at the beginning of a great weekend in Brighton - and loved it. First off, the place looks amazing. The entrance to this trendy restaurant/bar is covered in mesmerising wall art in fluorescent colours and is adorned with one of my favourite words, MEAT, in big capitals. The theme continues inside, with the walls and ceilings covered in images and cosy, colourfully lit booths. The menu is good, offering a range of meaty goodness, with burgers, chicken wings and more. There are loads of tasty side dishes to go for too. When the food emerges from the kitchen, to the chef's call of 'MEAT!', it is all laid out on one big tray. No plates or cutlery here - you grab a napkin and get stuck in. I found it really fun. I went for the Red Chilli Burger - a beef burger in soft bun, topped with cheese, jalapenos and beef chilli. It was absolutely delicious, and just the right size. On the side, I went for onion rings and these were great too - really light and tasty. As the name suggests, you've got to wash down your meat with a splash of liquor! The cocktails were really nice. I went for a Donkey Punch (...), a really fresh mix of vodka and ginger. My friends went for more ambitious creations, including cocktails with ice cream floats and something bright yellow and tropical. I'd definitely go back for more - well worth a visit. read more

I used to really love this place but it really is not worth visiting anymore. The service has always been really slow but I could sort of excuse that because the food was great. Sadly, last time I went the food was extremely greasy. I picked up my burger and grease poured out of it all over my hands. Additionally, it is so dark in there that we had to get our phone torches out just to read the menu. The service is incredibly slow so make sure you are not in a rush if you do go. Also, you are served your food on a tray to share between your group which is very frustrating and also pretentious. Sadly, I will not be rushing back any time soon. read more

This restaurant is so hit and miss. Went a few weeks ago for my wife's birthday and we were served instantly and the food was lovely. However shortly after a large group arrived and disrupted everything. We tried to order a round of drinks but couldn't as we were not as important as the group. We tried to get the bill and had to wait over 20mins and then a further 10 to pay. Lack of plates bothers me, the food cones out on a tray and you have to share said tray with whoever is in your group or place food on kitchen roll. Strange! The music is also far too loud, you can't have a conversation, the lighting is too dark as well. This is a restaurant not a nightclub. read more

For starters, I love the styling and the branding across all of the Meat Liquor branches. The Brighton Meat Liquor is by far my favourite of the lot though. The alcoholic drinks selection of cocktails is really on point, as is the same with the tasty Guava juice too! I usually get the bacon cheeseburger, fries, onion rings or fried pickles. Damn! Last time I had the dirty chicken burger, which came in the usual brioche bun, but damn, the fried chicken was massive! Totally worth the feeling of being too full afterwards. Meat Liquor is amazing for pre- drinks food, or for curbing a hangover. I'm pretty sure they did, or do a meal deal where you get any burger, fries and a soft drink for £10. I had this on Jan the 1st, so my memory and body was a big damaged at that point. Still, well worth a go! read more

Burger was very over cooked and tough. Fries were the only good part of the meal other than the cocktail. Service was good overall. We were seated quickly and the food did come out fast. Bacon was weirdly puck shaped and tough and not like any bacon I had eaten before. Also prices were too high for the small portion size and low quality of the food. read more

I'm shocked that I'm writing a five star review for this restaurant -- it's the last thing I ever would have expected. Growing up in the US, I've had my fair share of trashy burgers, and also my share of places claiming to serve a "truly excellent burger" which usually were indistinguishable from the former. Not that I don't love a trashy burger! I just thought a "gourmet burger" was a long-running industry joke or something. Well, it turns out there really are burgers that are just mind-blowingly delicious and just seem to taste different from everything you've had before. I had the Dead Hippie without cheese (sorry I've just never liked cheeseburgers!) and the Dirty Chicken Burger (yes, two burgers) and half an order of Chilli Cheese Fries (yes, you're right, I should have just done the Triple Chilli Challenge* if I was going to eat that much anyway). The Dead Hippie is a two-patty burger with a burger sauce mildly reminiscent of In-n-Out, but the meat was just so indescribably savoury and juicey and delicious and the sauce wasn't oppressively fatty and creamy the way burger sauce can sometimes compete with and smother the patty. The buns were toasted and buttery but still soft. The Dirty Chicken burger, which is Fried Chicken and mayonnaise, was similarly excellent -- the chicken had a crisp and extremely flavourful exterior but tender juicey interior, and while I generally don't love mayonnaise I thought I should leave it on the burger to experience it as it was intended to be served, and I don't regret that decision at all. The fries, which were practically half chilli, were classic American style fries with a hearty meaty chilli with the perfect amount of heat. My only complaint is that when I visited the mobile version of the website before visiting, it actually served me an old version of the menu that I was getting really excited about -- Philly Cheese Steaks, Fried Macaroni and Cheese, and a Peanut Butter Sundae that were nowhere in sight on the contemporary menu. Alas! * What's the Triple Chilli Challenge you ask? Eating a Chilli Cheeseburger, a Chilli Dog, and an order of Chilli fries in 10 minutes. Our food was great, but we had the bad luck to be in a bit of a hurry as we were running late for a birthday. The Zombie sauce is the best part of the burgers or fries (done really properly, lovely!), make sure you get something with that! The decor was also lovely. I could not physically move after this meal. I had deep fried mac n cheese, a burger, fries with some random sauces all over them, beer, and a bunch of other stuff. I was in so much pain but it was incredible. They do really great beer here and the interior is pretty trippy, but in a good way. Lots of neon lights and patterned walls. I imagine it's a really good place to go to on a night out because they have booths everywhere and great music playing in the background. read more

I've been here twice and it's not aimed at people that like good food. You pay a premium to sit in a neon cage. Probably like Amsterdam without a "show". Love it or hate it, it is an experience so go if you like, I wouldn't again but if I was 17 still I would have loved it. read more
