Only a Philly native is going to know if a copy of the famous Philly Cheesesteak is up to scratch…read moreagainst the original. Now, don't be fooled into comparing this London incarnation to the 2 famous Philly Cheesesteak venues because those 2 spots are tourist traps. You want to compare this to the 'hood joints where you get your sammiches & these guys are well up to scratch!! The meat is in abundance & while I'm not so sure these are authentic Amoroso rolls, they are pretty darn close. Things your cheesesteak should be...Cooked using water - yup, oil is not used in the hoody versions; have a mouth-watering smell of flavour when you unwrap it. Hot, flavourful; meat, cheese and onions should become one unit of deliciousness. These are defo delicious but didn't have the steam aroma when I unwrapped it & they're cooked using oil but were not greasy - thank goodness. Original cheesesteaks may be cooked with mushrooms or hots and the ketchup and/or mustard are added before the meat goes onto the roll. These guys don't offer those varieties but I assure you, these are darn good versions of my beloved Philly Original. I noticed they're offering the Philly pork sandwich so I'll be back to sample that too. Well done guys, very well done! P.S. If in the future you can master the Philly Cheesesteak Hoagie, you'll get an instant 5 Star review.

A taste of home is…read morealways welcome, and as I spend hours and hours watching Food Network, it's often on my mind. So I was quite surprised when I saw Liberty Cheesesteak in the listing of places at the Yelp Red event. Immediately I started Googling and found out that a) they looked like some tasty cheesesteaks and b) that I wasn't going to be able to try it until at the Yelp event. My other half was able to try it out though before the event and was suitably impressed. I was so excited to try and eagerly went for my cheesesteak taster and thought, meh. It's fine but a bit dry or something. My husband though insisted it was just because of the making-ahead-bulk-nature of trying to feed eleventy million hungry Yelpers at once and that it was better fresh. So today I hopped on a bus at lunchtime to go to the Mayfair Market at Brown Hart Gardens. Never had been there before and I was impressed with the location - up a flight of stairs, but loads and loads of seating and generally relaxed, with a handful of food choices. Of course for me there was no choice, just meeeeaaaattttt. I found the tiny stand and determined that no one was queuing to order, and eagerly placed my order for a half with onions and cheese whiz. There were about 10 orders ahead of me but the line cleared quickly and I soon had my sandwich. There was a small mix up and I ended up with a whole instead of a half. Such mistakes are fine by me! I was rewarded for my persistence. The meat was well seasoned with a nice peppery taste, and the Italian roll soft but chewy in a nice way. The onions were soft but not sweet, and the whiz was savoury and salty and unhealthy tasting, just like I wanted. 2 tiny niggles were that I had a couple of pieces of meat that could have been trimmed a bit better - but I'm a complete fuss pot and no one else would probably notice. And I would have liked more cheese. But I always want more cheese, and I'm sure if I asked for heavy on the cheese next time that I wouldn't be denied. Definitely better than the cheesesteak I had in Philadelphia from Geno's. Now to just figure out how to follow them around and be a cheesesteak groupie without seeming like a weirdo...

The server was pleasant and took our order within a few minutes. The chicken wings were tiny, but tasty and well prepared. (Never seen chicken wings that small). They went well with a side salad -- which was delicious. The salad was composed of fresh lettuce, thinly sliced red onion, cucumber, and celery with their special dressing. We also tried the buffalo chicken sandwich with the sauce on the side and another salad. It was the best fried chicken breast sandwich I've ever eaten. The mint lemonade is sweet and refreshing. They tack on 10% service charge which we were okay with leaving it on the bill in this case. We would like to return to try a burger --which looked scrumptious, by the way.

It was a small place, maybe 5-6 tables, plus a small window counter inside, and a couple table outside. The Server was super helpful and sweet. (Oh! If you see "Rocket" listed on the burgers, it's another name for Arugula. I taught her that while there lol!) Anywho, the burger was KILLER!! Amazingly good. And the Onion Rings were some of the best I've ever had! This place is a great stop for the burger lover. A definite place to add to Your casual to do list in London.

I need to give my feet a break and fill my belly. I got a basic burger, it was juicy and perfectly cooked. The sesame bun was soft and billowy and pure carby goodness. It's true that if you've been to one of the many burger chains in London, you've kind of been to them all. However, each one guarantees good- if not great- quality, and a few signature twists of their own. This place is no different, and conveniently-located near one of London's most famous landmarks. The interior of this one leaves a bit to be desired, with it's quirky Scrabble-looking signage and funky colors, but the menu is the same as everywhere else. I was a bit miffed that I had to get up and go order at the bar after being seated, but the menu was straightforward enough that it didn't take long. Service was also a bit lukewarm, but whatevs. It being my first time here, I thought it best to go with one of their benchmark signatures and ordered The Legend burger with smoked applewood cheese and a side of sweet potato fries with a bacon mayonnaise dipping sauce. I have to say, that was one darn good burger. The meat was perfectly cooked, the sauce they used balanced out all the flavors nicely, and those fries were cooked to such perfection, I had to force myself to use the dipping sauce so it wouldn't go to waste. There was nothing wrong with this meal. And the price wasn't bad, either. They also have a nice selection of cheap cocktails, beers, and dessert on the menu, but for all that, you're going to need an extra stomach or two.

Bleecker's Cheeseburger 10/10 - National Burger of the Year 2024…read more I'd heard Bleecker's is the burger spot in London, so of course, I had to give it a try - and let's just say, it did not disappoint. Bleecker's cheeseburger was simple yet completely mind-blowing. Normally, I find that great burgers rely on toppings to really bring the flavor, but this one? Just a plain cheeseburger, no extras, and it was truly one of the best burgers I've ever had. The beef itself was so flavorful and juicy, with the cheese melting perfectly over it - I was shocked at how good it was without all the frills. My friend tried their Simplicity burger, which is vegan, and it was honestly just as impressive. I'm usually not the biggest fan of vegan burgers (I've had a few misses in the past), but this one tasted almost identical to a classic beef burger. Genuinely a pleasant surprise! We went around 11 pm on a weekday, and the line was still out the door - that says it all about how popular Bleecker's is. The service was awesome, too. Shoutout to Arjun, the manager, who helped us figure out what to order and made sure our experience was top-notch. If you're in London and haven't tried Bleecker's yet, it's worth the hype.
