The restaurant is in a cute little spot with a few other restaurants. Great vibe with indoor and some outdoor seating The fresh fish and wine pairings are outstanding. We started with sea scallops which melted in your mouth. So good! Then we got a bottle of white wine with fish pairings (they had 8 local options the night we visited). I had the sea bass, and my husband had the trout. So good that I picked that sea bass apart all the way to the bone, which is saying a lot given that it was a very meaty, generous portion already. I tasted the trout, and it was equally amazing. Very impressive and fresh! I wish we could've actually tried some dessert because others around us looked very happy, but we were so full it didn't make sense. If you like fish, go out of your way and stop here! You won't regret it.

It was so flavorful and almost had a meat-like texture, wrapped perfectly in the crisp phyllo dough. My partner went for the lamb roast, featuring tender, juicy pieces of lamb that tasted fantastic. We also enjoyed some pigs in a blanket and a side of stuffing. There was so much food that we shared our pigs in a blanket with the lovely ladies at the next table. If I could suggest one thing, it would be to ask for the gravy on the side of the stuffing so it doesn't get overwhelmed.

We loved the Dean Swift Pub and it offers a charming and cozy old school pub atmosphere. I highly…read morerecommend their Sunday Roast but absolutely make a reservation! The pub has a traditional British feel, both inside and out, with limited seating on both floors. While their menus offer a wide variety of options, we were there solely for the Sunday Menu and Sunday Roast, and it did not disappoint. We started with a couple of pints and the Ibérico Ham Croquettes, served with aioli (£8 | $10.50 USD). I can best described them as three ground ham and cheese tater tots. They were delicious and made for a great start. For the main course, we both opted for the Aged Striploin Beef Roast. I loved that you could choose how it's cooked (medium-well for me & medium-rare for Chris). This is not common from what I understand. Each roast comes with roast potatoes, seasonal vegetables, homemade Yorkshire pudding, and red wine jus. Everything was simply delightful (£19.5 | $25.59 USD). To finish, we shared the churros (4 count), served with cinnamon and chocolate sauce. A perfect sweet ending to the meal (£6.5 | $8.53 USD). We also added a side of Cauliflower Cheese (£5 | $6.56 USD), which was rich, creamy, and served molten hot but was the perfect complement to the roast. The Dean Swift Pub was voted one of London's Top 25 Sunday Roasts by The Evening Standard, and it certainly lives up to the hype. I included both Sterling Pound and USD here to $ is a google estimate for an idea of the cost in the states. I would absolutely recommend The Dean Swift Pub, and you for to try a Sunday Roast. -- Quick Reference -- For Reservations, Email: manager@thedeanswift.com Phone: 020 3196 6949 Address: 10 Gainsford Street, London, SE1 2NE Tucked away between Butler's Wharf Pier and Queen Elizabeth Street (at the corner of Lafone & Gainsford Streets). We had to try one, but my wife and daughter don't like fried food so I had to find some place for me to eat. Near our hotel there's this place called long lane fish bar, and they only accept cash so I had to get some money from the ATM. The price is quite reasonable and I took out instead of eating in. The fish is very crispy and tasty with tartar sauce (had to pay $.50), there's no vinegar although the server squirt some in the fries. The fries are excellent, very fresh potato IMO. I love fish and chips, remembered H salt chain restaurants in the state that closed down many years ago. Well, I came back again on Monday but it closed, couldn't have some before we went home.

For what it's worth, the place seemed like an authentic fish and chips place, but I don't have much to judge by. The fish was tasty, the chips were excellent, portions more than I could finish, and all for very low prices (7.5 pounds for a small fish and chips). They do charge extra for ketchup, so make sure you get that. No seating, but they have a counter; I took my box to a nearby park and ate on a bench there.
