Side note after looking below: before I wrote this, there were 3 other reviews with the same story. It seems like those are gone now. Unfortunately, I have a similar story to several recent reviews here. After moving, I decided to go to the closest dentist to me. I did not look at the reviews before going (won't make that mistake again!!) I want to stress that before this, I had not been to the dentist for three years. I expected some type of work (cavities etc) would need to be done. However, I take decent care of my teeth and had NEVER had a cavity or any type of dental work - besides wisdom teeth - done before this. Everyone was very very friendly, check in didn't take long, and overall very nice initial experience. Once in the room though, I waited for about 25 mins for things to get going. Once they started, they informed me that I had stage 2 periodontal disease, and that it was completely irreversible as I had 15% bone loss. They also informed me that I had 7 cavities that would need to be filled, along with several more that were on a watch list. I was shocked to say the least, and asked what I could do for it. They said I would need a deep cleaning, and asked if I wanted to do it today. At this point I was two hours into my appointment and hadn't had a cleaning or anything, so I told them I would need to discuss with the front and schedule it out. It was around $1700 worth of things that they said I needed to get one, and I was super panicked. I decided to get a second opinion before I committed to this, and went to see my previous dentist today. I requested my x rays from here, but never received them, so my other office ended up having to redo them. I do have a couple of cavities (not near what they said) but ZERO gum disease. Not even gingivitis. Here, my gum pockets were supposedly ranging from 4-6 mm, but at that dentist they were at a 2-3. I see some people love it here and that's great, but I will definitely not be coming back and just want to caution others, as this seems to be an issue in the last 3-4 months here. read more

I scheduled a regular check up and cleaning appointment. they refused to clean my teeth because they said it would be "pointless" to clean them until I had a $1000 antibacterial cleaning. completely wasted my time. they took pictures of my teeth then sent me home. do not go here. read more

I do not recommend Dr. Bret Dyke. I returned to Dr. Dyke's office because part of a filling he placed over the screw access hole in my implant crown had come off. I hadn't eaten anything hard or sticky -- it simply failed. I expected he'd want to fix it, especially since it was part of the crown he installed. Instead, I was told the filling "looked normal" and that I could either pay over $300 to have it redone or have the surrounding crown filed down to match the now-lowered spot. Neither option addressed the fact that something that was once smooth and intact had clearly changed. I also learned I had lost additional bone around the implant, which he blamed on poor hygiene or not coming in more regularly -- even though I clean thoroughly every day and had brought up this issue years ago. Overall, I felt dismissed and blamed instead of supported. I expected more accountability, especially when the failure was in work that had already been done by his office. I'm now seeking a second opinion. read more

Had an appointment in September they called and I had to reschedule to October 9th. Today October 8th they called to ask if they could change my appointment to 2 hours earlier. When I said no was told that I had to wait until November. I told them that was unacceptable so she said I will cancel your appointment and hung upon me. I've been going there for years, lots of turnaround on the dentists but I stuck with them. But this was totally unacceptable. read more

You have to think how bad this was, that I'm writing a review based solely on their customer service. Called round Rock dentists this afternoon, hoping to schedule an appointment. Phone rings, someone picks up, hangs up. Okay, could have been a mistake. Call back, phone rings.... Phone rings..... phone rings....... Finally, receptionist answers, puts me on hold. ... and we're waiting... and we're waiting.... And waiting... twenty minutes fly by before someone picks up, and hangs up. Now, maybe they're super popular and therefore just too busy for common courtesy. It could happen! I have been attending this location for a few years now and have loved the techs and Dr. Dyke. I never had issues with the dental team, for the most part everything seemed great. I appreciated the overview of your charges prior to the end of your visit as well. However, since my last appointment, my insurance changed. When I made my appointment online (because calling them is impossible), I specifically put in the appointment request "my insurance has changed" I also logged my new insurance card/group number etc online when making the appointment (a month out). I also did my due diligence and checked my insurance providers website which listed RR Dentists as a provider (see photo below). I never heard anything about my appointment, I show up today (after taking the morning off of work to accommodate the appointment), and am just now told "oh it looks like you're not in network". I asked why they're just now checking when I specifically mentioned it on the appointment request and the receptionist shrugged her shoulders with no real reason and suggested I do a $100 new client visit. Which is illogical considering 1. I am not a new client and 2. Why would I pay when a general cleaning is fully covered by my insurance. Why would I waste an entire month waiting for my appointment, take time off work just to be told day of "oh actually we can't see you". I understand how insurance works, if at any point and time in this month of me waiting for my appointment they would have verified my insurance and notified me it was "not in network" I would have been fine and found a new dentist. I'm frustrated that they wasted my time and now to find a new dentist I'm going to likely be waiting another month if not longer. read more

Staff was all very kind and nice, the dentists and hygienist took the time to sterlise everything and make sure that everything was very clean! They both also showed interest in our own lives aside from just our oral health, and treated us very nicely. My hygienist even asked if I wanted mint or cherry flavoured stuff to clean my teeth with (sorry, i forgot what it was called). They addressed my questions and concerns very well and it was overall a very pleasurable experience. The bill is rather expensive that is true, but what else do you expect from dental care? Terrible experience. Made an apt for 2/26 at 8 am. They tried telling me that the apt was 1/26 and I missed it. No calls or texts to state I missed or had an apt that day. I live in college station because I go to Texas A&M, and knew I would be in town 2/26 which is why I made the apt for that day months in advance. It is a schedule error on their part and they refused to work me in even though I explained I am only here for today and cannot come back until May because of school. I was also the only one there at 8am, as the doors were even locked. Ridiculous. This place has gone down hill since new management. Go somewhere to save your troubles. I went to this dentist with tooth pain. They told me I needed a root canal. And it will cost me $1,900 with my insurance. They never offered that I could just have the tooth removed. I actually ended up calling them back and ask them how much would it cost just to remove the tooth. They quoted me $900. Stating that they needed to have a specialist remove the tooth. I inform them that I have two insurances. Then it came down to $400. Today I went to another dentist called Clearview dental. And with just one of my insurance they were able to remove the tooth for $40. This place is a scam to get more money from you. I will never go to this dentist again or take my family there. They're just out to take money out of your pocket. That's why they got three point seven stars on Google read more

Do not go to this dentist, if you can even call them that. They put a filling in my daughters tooth and it cracked the tooth leaving the nerve exposed. She called them went in and is told that she needs to see a specialist because they don't have the tools to fix it or the numbing agent . I asked how do they do root canals, or other procedures, they have other people come in to do that. So now my daughter gets to sit and wait two weeks with an exposed nerve to see there specialist. Go to an office that doesn't pawn off their mistakes to other real dentists. read more

Don't go to this Dentist Office. They are not honest and trustworthy. They try and say everyone needs to have deep cleaning even though they don't. They also don't know billing and insurance. I had to call my insurance and my insurance said a lot of the estimate was covered but the dental office said it was not. They wanted me to pay out of pocket for procedures that were covered at 100%. She was compassionate and professional and did not make me feel like an idiot for discussing my concerns. For the purpose of convenience this has been my dentist for the past 5 years. Today was the final straw! Each time I'd go I would see a different dentist. The turnover rate is obviously high. Their idea of a "reminder" is a joke! Two weeks ahead of time is not a reminder and if you happen to miss that two week in advance reminder email, don't expect a phone call. My last visit was about two months ago and before that 6 months prior I am sure. I don't stray too far from schedule. Well it was recommended that I get a laser cleaning for a few hundred dollars and I accepted because I knew I was slacking on flossing but thought it was weird I hadn't heard of this laser cleaning prior. Today I bring my son and guess what they recommend this $456 laser cleaning and when I declined because I am thinking "all of a sudden everyone needs laser cleaning out of nowhere" They say well that will be all for the day! I've definitely received a deep cleaning a time or two in my life without any lasers! Total rip off! I took off work early and picked him up from school early for absolutely nothing! He already has a new appointment elsewhere where his teeth will be cleaned and we are done there as a family! read more

My Tuesday afternoon cleaning was a pleasant experience (held in the "master suite"; it was a nice treat since it had street-view and was much, much larger patient room). I have EXTREME tooth pain and this office was able to get me in for an emergency appointment at 1pm. I waited until approx 1:35pm to be seen (not bad) and have x rays done. The woman who did my x rays was very professional and informative and tried to make me feel as comfortable as possible I was then taken to another room where the dentist informed me I would need to have a root canal and crown done and asked if I wanted to start the process or not. I agreed to start the process so I can be pain free. At 2pm, the receptionist came in to talk about my insurance and costs of treatment. He went through prices very fast and I was left confused about what needed to be paid. After seeing the figures, I asked if I could just get pain meds started. He left and I heard him converse with the dentist about writing a script for the medication. I asked the woman who took my x rays if it would be less expensive to just extract the tooth and she informed me it was but their first option is always to save the tooth. I explained to her I didn't have the total amount I was quoted at the time and she stated there are payment plan options, which I was not made aware of by the receptionist. She agreed to have him come back in and go over everything in detail. The receptionist then came back at 2:16pm to explain the payment plan options and gave me time to look at the numbers and think it through. With it being Christmas Eve, banks closed early and it was a challenge to get funds together. After making arrangements, at 2:37pm I informed the dentist I would be able to pay the amount to get the process started only to be told there is not enough time left as the office was closing early at 3pm for the holidays. Mind you, I came in contact with several staff members and not one of them mentioned the office was closing early. I was given plenty of idle time to make payment arrangements and what not but nobody could inform me I had limited time to start treatment?! The receptionist then came back and stated the appointment would be made in 5 days as that was the earliest appointment available after the holidays. I'm very disappointed in the lack of communication and feel as if I and the pain I'm in was not taken seriously. Although I am very grateful for being able to be seen at the last minute, I feel as though I should have been informed that the office closed early so that I could have started treatment today to get to a solution faster. I have hit my final straw with this Dentist. 1 year ago- I sat through the xrays, a checkup by the Dentist and then was told - "Oh, we can't complete the cleaning today. We're short-staffed. But you can come in another time to do the cleaning." First, why was this not explained to me BEFORE my appointment? I had to take time off work a second time just to complete my appointment. Fast forward to this year. My 6 month check up would've been in June. No one notified or tried to schedule with me until the last week of July, thus they had no appointments available til the end of August. The day before my appointment I was called to verify insurance, Amelia took down my information wrong and called to tell me I had a cancelled insurance. Rather than "Hey let me verify what I wrote because it didn't come back a match." I scrambled calling the insurance company to find out that it was indeed her miscommunication that was the issue, not my insurance. Today, I walk into my appointment and Amelia offers the additional $20 Flouride service, I said I would like it but want to verify with the Dr I can have it since I am pregnant. This started a whole debacle. If I'm pregnant, I needed a medical release form. Ok - No one ever told me this. They called my dr's office who had said they'd send it over, but hadn't yet in a timely manner and I had an appointment elsewhere to attend to so they re-booked me for 2 weeks later. SUGGESTIONS: 1. Have a general statement when you confirm appointments - "If you have one of these medical updates (include pregnancy) please note we need a medical release form prior to your appointment 2. Contact your patients timely for their 6 month check ups so they are not 2 months passed 3. Move some other things around to accommodate a patient due to your lack of communication I am finding a new dentist and won't plan to return to this dentist. read more

The dentists here weren't bad, but the front office and billing were so awful that we just couldn't go there anymore. We just felt like we were being scammed with every visit. Literally every time we went, they would charge us the wrong amount, and we would have to ask them to double check. My husband even had to bring in a copy of our insurance policy so that they wouldn't overcharge us, and we found out later that we were still overcharged due to faulty coding. We've had to file a grievance with our insurance company. I don't know if is incompetence or greed (or both), but we would never recommend this place to anyone. read more

Now I remember why I shouldn't ever go back to this place. Took off work to get a simple cleaning, they do the X-rays, have the dentist come in to discuss, then followed by the person that tries to up sell you. I said I just need a cleaning, I took the day off today to get it done. They tried saying that they'll see if they can do the cleaning today. I said again, well I took the day off for it, scheduled it and confirmed my appointment for a cleaning. I haven't gotten them cleaned in a couple of years because of Covid. They ran my insurance said I don't have coverage. This is incorrect, my insurance hasn't changed in 7 years, I have dental coverage. They then hit me with $960 for a cleaning. I said I just need a simple cleaning, put the paste on the tool, scrape some plaque and shine them up. I'm not sure what kind of scam they are trying to pull but I got up and walked out with dirty teeth. Please steer clear of this place. Believe the bad reviews on Yelp, Google and Yahoo. This office is horrible!!!!!!!! Don't Go!!!!! I made an appointment two months in advance so I could have an evening appointment to work with my schedule. They called to confirm two days before and I returned the confirmation call the day of just to have them call me two hours before the appointment to tell me that unless I come in now they won't be able to do the full visit. I was unable to come In early so they were unable to do my cleaning. While there they messed up my file and had me under two different settings so they kept get confused and having trouble pulling up my info. They told me I need an expensive $300 cleaning. I have never in my life had dental problems so this was crazy to me. So I schedule cleanings for the following week. Some how all of a sudden they had evening appointments. I decided to get a second opinion surprise surprise I didn't need any work. They couldn't locate my x-rays to send to the new dentist blamed it on the new dentist for using my correct birth date which they have wrong in there system. I corrected the birth date and told them they need to update the birth date so my insurance would pay for the initial exam and requested they send my X-rays. The new dentist never received them. I called and canceled the cleaning I had scheduled with them only to have them not cancel. I called back after I received I reminder call only to be told that they couldn't cancel since I didn't give them the correct birthdate they have on file. I have been taking my family to this dental office since they opened. Why is it that most dentist offices feel like that need to lie about the law to upsell services to you? This dentist's office refused to see me today because I would not pay for all the services that wanted to push on to me. They tell me that their license is at risk. However, when you call the State of Texas Dentistry Board, they tell you that it is not a law, it is only their company policy. When I first went to this dentist I told them I was not a candidate for elective treatments. They told me no problem. We provide what you want, but you might need to sign a release. Great! My family and I do not have dental insurance. I am 43, married, ugly, and do not care about what my teeth look like. When did clients lose the right to choose the services they want to pay for? For me and my family, the choice is simple...find another dentist. I write this Yelp review, to inform you of my opinion. As for the staff, they are professional and knowledgeable. Just like 95% of the rest of dentist offices around Central Texas. If you want a say in what services your dentist provides...you might think about someone who cares about your wants and not their pocket book. Wish I could cram services on my clients by telling them I can't sell them the solution you want, I can only sell you the more expensive solution. Of course, if I did this then my clients would do the same thing I did...LEAVE! read more

I love this dentist office. The office manager is awesome! I had a little mess up when I scheduled my appointment online and she fit me right it, I didn't even wait! I had my 11 month old son with me and everyone was so great about him being there. The Dentist ( starts with a D I'm sorry I cannot remember his name) he was a really nice guy. I also really liked the hygienist as well. probably one of the only times i didn't feel awkward getting my teeth cleaned while the hygienist was talking. Will be back for sure! read more

Staff was very friendly, professional and Informative. I have extensive tarter build up. Due to insurance changes, I had not been able to visit my previous dentist in over a year. I was told I would need deep cleaning, which I agreed with. Ashley was very meticulous and stayed late to finish the job. My teeth looked 100% better and my wife said it made me look younger! My son was visiting family in TX from NY when he had a dental emergency. I got their number through my insurance carrier and spoke to Jessica. She not only friendly but she was able to get my son in to see the dentist in a few hours. I could not get around paying for the crown he needed ( I would have paid for it here in NY). What I did appreciate is that she mentioned their promotion so I did pay a little less. If ever in TX again and have a dental emergency I will definitely will not go anywhere else. My kids and I love this place! We've absolutely loved everyone we've seen! Front desk staff is efficient, friendly and great. We've had Ebony as our dental assistant each time we've been there and she is just the sweetest! Always making my kids feel so comfortable, making them laugh and finding ways to connect to them. They were able to accommodate my busy schedule, and I got my crown done in one visit, in about 2 hours. The front desk staff made everything seamless and worked out a very convenient payment plan. Dr. Menchacha was very knowledgeable, professional,and courteous. Offered great advise on how to manage my gum and teeth health. Him and his staff were kind and friendly. They were able to personalize my care and show me how well I was doing and what I can improve on. The X-ray process was super easy and the routine exam and cleaning were handled very well. Our entire family has gone here numerous times to get dental work done, from fillings, to root canals and crowns, to pulled teeth. At first we were very happy, then all the issues started happening. Without getting into every single issue that has happened and the astronomical amount of money we have had to spend on top of the thousands of dollars we paid them in the first place to fix their screw ups, I will tell you, you will be waisting your hard earned money going there. Every single, and when I say every single, I mean every single dental procedure that all three of my children, my husband and I have had worked on at Round Rock Dentist has gone bad! They will not fix their work and inevitably you will end up having to go to another dentist to get done what they should of done right in the first place! The office could not manage to get their accounts setup correctly and there was a lot of confusion and no one would call back. They will charge you diagnostic before you made it and they don't asked first what do you want to do. They force you to apply to smile generation credit card to charge all without consent so when you sign up papers be careful what you sign up, they don't refund anything. You will find fraudulent charges. I don't recommend this place to go. The owner Brett Dyke is totally unprofessional, impolite and liar about the dental offers that their receptionist give us. They lying about that offers never truthful and saying it's a mistake and you will need agreed and pay double charge prices than other dentist office. Be aware!!! Don't do it!!! read more
