She never would pick up the phone when we called from out original phone# when we first called this Owner/Lady. We had NO ride back to the airport. An employee @ the hotel was kind enough to take us to the airport and told us about this Lady's sick reputation around this area. We came up just to visit the area and this lady said her service would be available. Pretty weak & unprofessional not to answer your phone as a business owner. All you had to do is say you were NOT available for us. We tipped this weak soul over 30%. How could anyone knowing visitors from out of town is trying to get somewhere in a very unfamiliar place and simply just ignores all calls to her service.

I like to use the term 'shunpiker' anyway... i just took out a map and looked it over until i found something cool. having already been to dozens of state parks all over the state i decided to head north. We decided to visit the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon in Winter. so i did some searching on google for other nearby attractions and things to do. got directions from google.maps.com and then started to look for accomidations. this motel was on the west rim on the canyon, right across from the enterance basically. we called and confirmed that we would be staying, since we were not going to get there right away they left the key to our room out under a box by the front door. we arrived there after several hours of driving. we went to our room, turned the tv and heat on and crashed. the rooms were pleasant and comfortable, there were probably about 15 roioms total. they had nice clean baths and clean floors. there was a desk, table and dresser with a notebook and calender on it. they next moring we went in and they owners were both there, we got a breakfast meal for about 4 or 5 dollars. and they cooked everything themselves. it was just coffee, oj, bacon, toast and eggs. great lodging, a step away from heaven!

(LINDY MOTEL 428 East Second Street Coudersport, Pa 16915 (814-274-0327) It was such a cute place I stopped and inquired about renting a place for the night. I was assigned to Cabin 8. That was the night of July 30. The cabins are adorable with porches and immediately-outside-the-door parking. There is playground equipment and Frisbee golf and a pen full of chickens; quite pleasant grounds. I usually have insomnia, and did, so I walked around outside a bit after dark, but tripped and fell. In the morning I had a few bumps and bites, and figured I'd fallen into poison ivy. Because the next day was rainy, I went to the desk and asked to stay another night. The young man said I could, but I'd have to move to Cabin 7 because #8 was reserved. Cabin 7 had two small bedrooms. I spent the day there because of the weather. On the morning of August1 I awoke unable to open my right eye, and was covered with dozens of swollen, red, itchy bumps and bites from my hairline to my hips. I got on the internet and easily determined that they were bedbug bites. I looked so horrendous I left avoiding all humans the best I could. I was driving and it took me several more days to get home. I contacted the Lindy Motel via their website and told them that their cabins were infested with bedbugs, and said I know it's not usually the hotel owners' fault when there are bedbugs, they are usually brought in in some guest's luggage. I said if they would refund even one night's fees as compensation for my misery, and if they'd take care of the bedbug problem, I'd be nice and not leave bad reviews. They might not have known about the infestation in the otherwise cute place. I sent several photos of my face, arms and other bitten-up places; iPhone photos include dates and the location the photos were taken. Two or three days later and accused me of trying to blackmail them and that they were going to contact "legal representation." I was merely trying to let them rectify their problem they may not have been aware of. But since, despite the photos, they denied the problem, threatened me with legal action, didn't offer to refund even one night NOR did they even apologize, I told them I was then going to write honest reviews with photos and would follow the steps Google laid out. Should you make the mistake I did and stay at the Lindy Motel, (DON'T!) here's what to do: {Steps to Take Document Everything: Take clear photos and videos of any suspected bedbugs or their signs, such as red bite marks, rusty stains on the mattress, or small dark spots. Inform the Hotel: Immediately report the problem to the front desk or hotel management. Contact the Local Health Department: The local health department is the primary authority for investigating pest infestations. You can find contact information for your county or city health department through the National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO) directory. After researching options, my wife selected Penn Wells due to its reputation and small-town charm. We initially attempted to book online but ultimately called for more information. The staff member we spoke with was pleasant and helpful, recommending the Lodge over the Hotel for its larger rooms and more modern features. Based on this, we booked a room with double beds. We arrived around 4 PM to check in. The front desk staff was polite, though not particularly informative when we inquired about local attractions or restaurants. One of the staff members admitted to being new and unfamiliar with the area, and the other, the manager, offered limited suggestions only speaking about the Diner and Steakhouse, when I specifically asked about burgers/chicken. Fortunately, a fellow guest provided helpful recommendations, including a band performance in the town park--an event not mentioned by staff. After settling into our room, we walked to town for dinner and enjoyed the concert. We returned to the room around 9 PM, only to find the double beds were too small for us to share comfortably. We ultimately slept in separate beds. The next morning, Thursday, July 31, we were pleased with the quality of the breakfast and the warm, attentive staff member managing it. She stood out as a highlight of our stay. Later in the day, I attempted to use the pool area. Unfortunately, the staff member present was unhelpful--unable or unwilling to answer basic questions about the pool and jacuzzi, likely due to wearing loud AirPods. I returned after dinner and inquired at the front desk about the size of the beds, as I had measured them to be 54" x 60"--significantly shorter than the standard Double Bed size of 54" x 75". As someone 5'10", my feet extended past the edge of the bed. I asked how best to address this, and the manager informed me to speak to the owner who would be available at 9 AM the next morning. On Friday, August 1, we again had a pleasant breakfast experience thanks to the same staff member. However, while sitting near the front desk due to limited dining space, we observed a supervisor publicly reprimanding this employee. While we understand the need for accountability, we felt the tone and setting were inappropriate, especially given the employee's positive attitude and the presence of guests. Before checking out, I asked if the owner had arrived but was told they had not. Due to a prior reservation at 9:30 AM, we chose to depart without further discussion. As we exited, I noticed the same bottle I had discarded in the entrance trash can on Wednesday had still not been emptied--something that speaks to a lack of attention to detail. Positive Experiences: *Modern lodge with balconies ideal for relaxing and enjoying the views *Excellent location in a charming town *Fresh, well-prepared breakfast with a good variety *Exceptional service from the breakfast attendant *Clean, refreshed rooms *Well-maintained pool and jacuzzi *Reasonable pricing Areas for Improvement: *Front desk staff lacked local knowledge and initiative in assisting guests *Pool staff appeared disengaged and unresponsive to basic questions *Public reprimanding of staff in front of guests was uncomfortable and unprofessional *Bed sizes were significantly smaller than expected, making for an uncomfortable sleeping arrangement *Main Entrance trash was not emptied over the course of multiple days *Pool closing time of 8 PM is early, especially for families returning from dinner or evening activities While we enjoyed parts of our stay, especially the breakfast service and the town itself, several aspects detracted from our overall experience. As we consider a return trip in the fall, we may explore other lodging options to ensure both comfort and quality service.
