(LINDY MOTEL 428 East Second Street Coudersport, Pa 16915 (814-274-0327) It was such a cute place I stopped and inquired about renting a place for the night. I was assigned to Cabin 8. That was the night of July 30. The cabins are adorable with porches and immediately-outside-the-door parking. There is playground equipment and Frisbee golf and a pen full of chickens; quite pleasant grounds. I usually have insomnia, and did, so I walked around outside a bit after dark, but tripped and fell. In the morning I had a few bumps and bites, and figured I'd fallen into poison ivy. Because the next day was rainy, I went to the desk and asked to stay another night. The young man said I could, but I'd have to move to Cabin 7 because #8 was reserved. Cabin 7 had two small bedrooms. I spent the day there because of the weather. On the morning of August1 I awoke unable to open my right eye, and was covered with dozens of swollen, red, itchy bumps and bites from my hairline to my hips. I got on the internet and easily determined that they were bedbug bites. I looked so horrendous I left avoiding all humans the best I could. I was driving and it took me several more days to get home. I contacted the Lindy Motel via their website and told them that their cabins were infested with bedbugs, and said I know it's not usually the hotel owners' fault when there are bedbugs, they are usually brought in in some guest's luggage. I said if they would refund even one night's fees as compensation for my misery, and if they'd take care of the bedbug problem, I'd be nice and not leave bad reviews. They might not have known about the infestation in the otherwise cute place. I sent several photos of my face, arms and other bitten-up places; iPhone photos include dates and the location the photos were taken. Two or three days later and accused me of trying to blackmail them and that they were going to contact "legal representation." I was merely trying to let them rectify their problem they may not have been aware of. But since, despite the photos, they denied the problem, threatened me with legal action, didn't offer to refund even one night NOR did they even apologize, I told them I was then going to write honest reviews with photos and would follow the steps Google laid out. Should you make the mistake I did and stay at the Lindy Motel, (DON'T!) here's what to do: {Steps to Take Document Everything: Take clear photos and videos of any suspected bedbugs or their signs, such as red bite marks, rusty stains on the mattress, or small dark spots. Inform the Hotel: Immediately report the problem to the front desk or hotel management. Contact the Local Health Department: The local health department is the primary authority for investigating pest infestations. You can find contact information for your county or city health department through the National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO) directory. Consider Legal Action: If you want to pursue further action or compensation, consider contacting a bed bug attorney for legal advice.}

They are the most accommodating, compassionate and genuine people you will ever meet. They go above and beyond in what you would ever expect from hotel owners. The food at the bar is phenomenal and moderately priced. Everything I've had has been great, especially the burgers! The only down falls are the rooms are quaint, no traditional double rooms and if you have extended stays, the house keeping isn't kept up on without prompting. Minor details. They have neat A-frame houses, one single and large one with 4 separate "cabins" that are unique and awesome. The staff and food are worth the try!!!!

This is the first time we tried this place after attempting a few times over the last few years…read more It was never a destination for us just driving by and was going to try it since everyone around here says it's great. It was either closed or having private parties the other times we attempted. Wanted to try their wings once at the Galeton Wing event and they didn't have any there yet. So my wife and I just thought it wasn't in the cards for us to try this place. Let me start with it's more of a bar with a restaurant than a restaurant with a bar. One reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars. I no longer drink so I try to stay away from bars. But being a bar it has bar food. And like most bars the food they have is usually good. This place didn't disappoint. My wife and I both got Burgers. Now a pet peeve of ours is having the meat on top of the tomato and onion. Not a big deal but with the weight on top it slides all over and comes apart easy. With the meat being the base on the bottom it is easier to hold together while eating. I'll get off my soap box now... The burgers were good and cooked as we requested. Now the seasoning they used was a hit and miss, some bites had a lot of flavor and others were just beef. Not a bad thing. The serving sizes are pretty large. The burger was too big for my wife to get a good bite. She is a little woman... Being in the north I was very surprised that they didn't have malt vinegar for the fries. I am willing to bet that a Friday or Saturday night dinner would be great here. We stopped for lunch on a Tuesday. The waitress was very nice and I am not sure that she wasn't the only one there cooking as well. I didn't ask but either way she did an amazing job. I will probably try this place again and try another option off the menu. I do recommend anyone really hungry stop by and get full.

Here is quite a story for you. My husband booked the Buttonwood in for me because it was the only…read morehotel around in Emporium that was open and taking guests and it was an emergency. It was the last hotel on my list, having been born and raised in Emporium, and I knew it's reputation. But, I needed to get to Emporium. I had a family member that was in final stages of life. So I did it. What I walked into was a hotel room that looked like it was part of a Hollywood scene for an ax murder screenplay. There was black mold on the inside of the windows, Rust in the bathroom on the floor by the toilet.... Rust inside the shower. And the bed. Oh the bed. I checked out a day early because I could no longer stomach the bed. The bed smelled like someone had puked all over it. When I checked out and told Amanda about this, she told me under no uncertain terms that I would not be getting a refund for the day I checked out. It's in the print she said. Now if you look at the print, even with reading glasses, you can't read it. It is so small you would need a high density magnifying glass to read it. There is no check in or check out times listed anywhere for this hotel. there is no coffee anywhere in this hotel. They do offer a refrigerator in a microwave. And beds that apparently smell like puke. I can honestly tell you that because it was the only hotel I could get at that point, I didn't want to complain. I was only in that room to pause and sleep while my family member was transitioning between life and death. This is a heavy subject for me and not one I normally would ever share online. But the way Amanda treated me was heinous. This whole family does not care about their hotel. Or their guests. They should not be in a business that faces people. So I may as well spill the beans. there are supposed to be an extra lock on the door that protects people. It's the little safety lock on the door that is supposed to give a person extra protection. Half of it was broken off. I really didn't feel safe, but my only option was to have stayed in St. Mary's, which was 20 miles away. Here's my recommendation. If you have time to plan a trip to Emporium, stay at a bed-and-breakfast if you can. There are some that are around town, and some that are outside of town. Please do not stay at the Buttonwood Inn. It's not safe, it's not health safe, and I don't know how the health department does not shut this entire place down. And by the way, this is all in my humble opinion. :-)
