Menu and prices

I've been thinking about trying this place. I got a tip from a local who recommended this place. I'm usually not one for eating outside so this has been on the back burner for me as a place to try. This restaurant has a window where you order and another where you pick up the food. There are some tables under a roof for dining there or you can take it home. Simple menu but executed well. Pulled pork, chicken, brisket & ribs along with Mac and cheese, baked beans, roasted corn and cole slaw. I opted for the Mac & Cheese and the pulled pork sandwich minus the sauces. The pork was tasty and mine had no fat at all in it. The sandwich was heaping with meat. It was a delicious sandwich and the Mac was great too- a smoky subtle flavor. I opted for the fresh draft birch beer-a very special treat! Added bonus? The restaurant is tucked away on the countryside. Zinnia fields and sunflower fields are nearby too. Don't forget to duck into the farmers market for your fresh produce, jams and honey. Excellent food at a stunningly great price! I love places like this.

Rough Cut BBQ is a hidden gem! It is counter service with ample covered seating & some picnic benches not covered. It is connected to a small farmers market. The views are beautiful. I had the pulled pork platter (it actually is served as a sandwich, but it is considered a platter since it comes with two sides), French fries, green beans, added on a side of Mac n cheese, and a cup of white birch beer. The food was delicious and the portion was huge for the price. I was able to get two meals out of it! The white birch beer is on tap & it was a generous sized cup. Refills are $1.00. The service was friendly & fast. The woman at the counter advised they are usually open May through October. I'm excited to take my husband here soon!

First, because I awoke deciding that I wanted some Sancocho. I'm giving them a 5- because I had the entire experience. It's a tropical root vegetable stew with beef. I was Making it with pork. I'm a rebel like that. Anyway, for a call from brother and his wife that they will be stopping by in two hours. TWO! So after shopping for tropical root veggies - Yucca, Malanga, Llame, Platano Verde, Malanga, Yautia, Patata, Platano Maduro, and calabasa. I picked up some Cilantro and some Culantro! CULANTRO! It's cilantro on steroids. It's specific. And O was looking for it in East Los Angeles and Orange County, CA - and did not find it for years if not decades. Anyway. They got it here!! Anything you need to cook anything Latino/Hispanic recipe - you'll find here. Anyway, I head home and it hits me. The smells I experienced while shopping were stuck in my head. Got home, picked up my mother and my brother and his wife, and headed back. We walked in to find some people start to enter the restaurant section. I will say with confidence they offer over 28 FULL PANS (Chafing dishes) and a few other things. I will not list them because I am going to guess that some items change. Everything was delicious. WAAAY too many to list! And the Tamarind Slushie...WTF!? Tasty!! My one criticism is that I wish the foods were HOTTER than they were. Most of the items - except for the Sancocho - were room temperature at best. (Turn up the heat folks!! Better safe than sorry.) Anyway, check this tropical grubbery and if you go on the weekends - enjoy the LIVE Music. I will definitely be back. The employees are friendly. There's plenty of parking. CHECK THIS PLACE OUT! We'll be back soon too.

We found this place because I was looking for somewhere I could get a beer and walk out and around the town of Jim Thorpe (I believe they allow it here). But ended up staying for the vibes and plus we were super hungry. I wish I remembered our waitresses name but I believe she had pink in her hair. She allowed me and my girlfriend to sample some beers that she thought we would like because we were hesitant and what to order. We got the sangria sour beer and the white ale which were perfect for us. We also saw online that everyone loved the smash burger so we had to try it. We added truffle fries for 3 dollars which was so worth it. Some of the best fries we have ever had. Also I think we decided it was the best smash burger we have ever had. We both have never tried bacon jam and we were a bit hesitant about the pimento cheese as well. I think my favorite moment from this trip was sitting at the bar here and eating this meal. Plus the burger lived up to the hype. Thank you to the waitress we had you made our day!

We visit Jim Thorpe annually and were excited to try this place given its vegan options. When we entered the restaurant, the set-up was a little confusing. They did seat us pretty quickly though, and the service was probably the only positive to this experience. My husband and I both ordered cocktails; he had the Manhattan while I had a special vodka drink they were offering that day. Our drinks were overall fine but not anything special. My husband's Manhattan was very basic tasting. The menu and the food were the worst parts. The menu is unnecessarily long and phony sounding, like they are trying to be quirky but just come across as fake and condescending. There's extra, unnecessary description of the food that makes the menu difficult and frankly annoying to review. We ordered the bread teaser as well as the hummus. The pesto and the hummus were basic store level quality. The bread was definitely undercooked. For our entrees, we ordered the Cleopatra salad and a pasta dish. The salad tasted fine enough but it was basically just romaine lettuce with a very light dusting of nutritional yeast, vegan cheese, and a very low amount of chickpeas/protein. The pasta was an absolute travesty. It was extremely oily, flavorless, and bland. To top it all off, the food is extremely expensive! They have absolutely no business charging that much. The interior of the place is also a waste of space. It doesn't make any sense that it calls itself a pub. There's also stupid decor everywhere, including a sign that says "no" leading out to an employee-only location. I guess that's supposed to be funny but just comes across as condescending. It's a shame that this place has such a good location with Jim Thorpe and apparently can make a pretty penny serving subpar food and weird vibes. Don't waste your money.

I could not find Teaberry anywhere else so it was always a treat to stop. Sadly yesteryear is gone and so is the quality. The Teaberry ice cream today was bland... The vanilla malted milkshake was watery but cold, I could not detect any vanilla or malt. I remained in the takeout area waiting for my order, and I observed that the ice cream case was in a state of recently neglect. Many of the ice cream flavor signs had fallen into the ice cream tubs. The inside of the ice cream display was somewhat sloppy as was the countertop. The place did not seem dirty but recently neglected. Although I saw other employees in the store, there was only one young lady who was working in the cash register, making the milkshakes, serving ice cream, and where I observed her waiting tables I observed that the other employees remain in the back scrolling on their cell phone phones. It was a sad day for me-- as this place in the past was iconic in the area! Dammit!!! I was truly hoping for better
