I've…read morealways been fascinated by the store, however, I've never visited until I decided to drop in while having breakfast at the nearby Emmy's. I was on my way to do some more clearing out of my recently passed father's home. I've been intentionally having experiences that make me smile in an effort to balance all the emotions. What can I say? Rural King made me smile. From looking at other reviews, it's obvious that this is a relatively new spot for Rural King. It's on the western end of Avon not long before you head into Danville. While I tend to be a city boy (eastside of Indy), my parents lived in Putnam County and were what I'd call rural-lite. You will mostly find Rural King in, you guessed it, rural areas because it's a store clearly aimed at the rural lifestyle. That said, there's much to find for a city boy like me and often at much better prices than you'd expect. For example, the bird seed that I bought today was clearly at a much better price than you'll find in most stores and even online options (including the not named mega-online option). There's accessible parking here and an easy to enter front entrance. Aisles are wide enough for wheelchair users and there are employees present who are more than willing to help. They are friendly without being pushy. As I looked around, I will admit I really was having quite a bit of fun. Rural King carries clothing (mostly work/farm brands), gardening items, outdoor furniture, farm items, home goods, automotive, pet, and quite a bit more. They offer popcorn and coffee for shoppers. I was amazed at the bird seed prices. As a person fairly new with ensuring my bird feeder is always full, a place like Rural King makes that possible. Rural King carries all the familiar quality brands (Carhartt galore here) and the atmosphere for shopping is warm, welcoming, and yet also professional. If I hadn't been on the way to clear out a house, I'd have no doubt bought even more. I still bought bird seed as it was simply too good to pass up. My birds said "Thank you." The check out person was super friendly (she apologized for being a bit slow as she had some difficulty scanning a price). She signed me up for rewards (I have no idea why I signed up as I don't live close) and offered help (I should mention I am a wheelchair user) without being overly pushy about it. This was a blast. I would easily return as much for the atmosphere as the items. Good people. Good products. Good prices. I'll be back.

They have always had a bigger selection of bird feed or all types for your outdoor feathered friends as well as cool little hanging feeders. Depending on the season they have livestock as in chicks, ducklings, turkeys and even rabbits. The kids always get a kick out of that. I dig the place for the snacks you can find that to me seem to be somewhat unique. Even the toys they have are something different and plushies galore! Always got to get my kids a couple. The staff has always been super friendly and seem like they actually enjoy being there. Check it out!

When I get there the cashier loudly and rudely says, Since you came over the wrong way, I'm taking this man first! The man hadn't even been standing in line, he was just walking up!!! I said, Well here you go, tossed the seeds on the counter and left. This cashier has convinced me that Rural King is better off without my money, I won't be returning to any of them. Most of the stock is made in the US and there was also a great number of Indiana featured products. You will find everything from live chicks and ducks to basketballs. Most of the merchandise is specially packaged for Rural King. There is something homey and salt-of-the-earth about Rural King. I was reminded of my youth growing up on a Virginia farm and going with my daddy to pick up tractor parts. Today, I found 2 pack flower sack kitchen towels for $1.49. Clearance wipes for 49 cents! Okra seed for $1.89. And lots of garden and spring supplies. They carry clothes and boots. Dry food products including an entire aisle of beef jerky! It was the Mecca of jerky. There was an aisle of canning supplies - canning lids were sold by the pound. There were unique food items such as jalapeño pickled eggs and gooseberry jam. You can even pick up vaccines for your horse! I spent an hour shopping and could have spent more. Most of the staff was wearing masks and about half of the customers were wearing masks. I found most of the staff helpful and friendly as well - a few proactively asking if we needed help. Check out was quick. False advertising…read more Theres a trailer with price tag of 297.5 out there i called and asked a person of that was correct and they told me yes i went into the store to purcase it and then they told me they cant honor that price becouse the wind must have blown the 1 off that it should have been 1297.5 but the exact same trailer next to it was 1099 and when they scaned it also showed 1099 and made me look like an idiot even thou i asked the person outside is that price correct i took a picture to to make sure off it.

If this RK didn't have it the ones in Kokomo or Greenville did. Service excellent. We have had a couple accidents with that tractor and have had some repairs to do. Service at the Muncie Store has been top-notch. When we're shopping this is one of the places that we always price test and many times we make the 20+ mile trip to Muncie as we are this morning. Seems to me that there is just a bit of everything you might need located Inside. A large selection of causal and work clothes, several different types of shoes. I'm guessing this is why the cashier said "Hey some one finally bought it!" I thought this was due to the 8,999.99 price tag not including tax. I called the store and asked for the manager. She was nice but said she could not do anything but would have some one contact me. A couple of days later a guy called me already apprised of the situation. I explained to him my issue of paying for a new unit, not one three years old. I suggested a refund based on depreciation. These units depreciate 15 to 20% the first few years according to the market. Since I was the first purchaser I suggested one years depreciation which would be 1,400.00. He said "absolutely not". He told me I could clean it up to look new and return it for a refund. One, this doesnt address the issue I bought what I felt was a new unit, not three years old! And two, there was not another unit available. Since this unit replaced my 87 year old Dad's broken down unit, this wasn't much of a option. This would also explain why the engine isnt running smoothly. I was told "the units were very well maintained and that didnt make since". There was plenty of floor space all around the display. I found a new Lincoln short sleeve shirt for $22 that I liked. The fitting rooms were already unlocked which is not always the case in other RK stores. I think their clothing and footwear stock is also the most I've seen in a RK store. There is a lot of inventory to choose from here. I walked through the entire store checking out everything. Parking seemed more than adequate as plenty of spaces were available right in front of the main entrance.
