I had a problem in my 1 year old townhome, that the builder would not stand behind and fix, in spite of my 1 year warranty being up a little over 3 weeks. The Company the builder recommended did not call me back, inspite of 4 attempts. The company Aspaugh answered, and scheduled right away. The person answering the phone was very polite, and accomodating. Sam, the technition came, diagnosed the problem and answered all my concerns, and explained everything. I booked Sam to return where he installed a new light fixture, and again, explained everything. This company is upright, and does the right, thing. Brian the owner, called me that evening to make sure I was satisfied and explained the fees..I am very impressed with this company, and these 2 men. I hired someone to replace a Ground fault outlet. It did not go well. I have used Ashpaugh in the past and have been pleased with the results. I called on Tuesday and they offered service on Wednesday! How often does that happen! I requested Thursday and they were able to accommodate. Greg arrived within the time frame. He quickly assessed the situation and immediately explained what he was going to do. I really really like when they explain the steps. He said they also offer a service to check the panel. I was actually glad to pay for that service. I think when my house was built they cut some corners. I was glad to know things were safe! He again explained what he did. Professional, communicative, and efficient. We've used Ashpaugh on two separate occasions to install ceiling fans and then med/large size chandeliers + pendant lights. Both experiences exceeded our expectations. Our electrician, Micah, provided high quality work and had a genuine knack for customer service. Highlights from our experience: -They got us on their schedule quickly -Arrived well on the earlier side of their arrival window (both times), which was appreciated -I was told the price up front before any work was done -I was told how the work would be done, how long it would take, and they proactively asked me about any personal touches (i.e. which side for the fan paddle, how long to hang the chandelier chain, etc) -I was asked if I was happy with the work on each fixture, and if I wanted something changed, Micah was more than happy to make the change -Micah took caution not to damage any part of our home throughout the installation. This company came out and tried to charge us 70 dollars for 15 minutes to diagnose our problem. This was told to us before we made the appointment, which we were fine with. They get here and say it's going to be 70 dollars for just travel to get there then another 123 dollars to diagnose the problem then another 92 dollars to install the fixture we already have. This was a simple, fixing of a light switch and installing a light fixtures that would take an hour and a half would cost us close to 500 dollars. This company was about to take advantage of us and our family will make sure to share this experience with anyone we know. read more

Dudley was our technician on 2 visits. 1st was to determine problem with 3 ceiling lights and to remove several old smoke detectors that were going off erratically. He diagnosed the problems. After we bought new ceiling lights he installed them and placed covers over the old detector plates. He was on time on both occasions, completed the work efficiently and was professional and friendly. We will certainly recommend this company to others. read more

I cannot say enough good things about this company. After a miserable building experience we had to find our own contractors to fix everything that wasn't done properly, which wasn't easy. After trying two other companies, we lucked into finding Ashpaugh. Its electricians are simply the best. They show up when they say they will, do excellent work, and go above and beyond (while working on a project, our electrician Steve actually helped move a chair to the car for me). The company culture is driven by the owner, who has never been anything other than honest and a genuinely decent human being. I had a gentleman come to my house several weeks ago to give me an estimate to replace the meter on my house that was put up by a previous electrician. The box is crooked and off center. It exposes some of the interior wall. I have never been given even the courtesy of a response. It would've been nice if they just would have told me they weren't interested in doing the job as opposed to ignoring me. I will try to find someone to assist me. read more

This was my experience with this company, I had a light switch go bad and needed it replaced and a light fixture put in Ashpaugh was recommended to me by a family friend called them to come out and look at it, it was $70 just for them to come out and they said "the first 15 minutes to figure out what was wrong" was included in that $70, the electrician came and I told him what was wrong and what needed to be done he then proceeded to tell me it was going to be another $123 for "troubleshooting" (which you would think was part of figuring out what was wrong) even though I told him exactly what happened and what needed to be done, I then asked if he could install the light fixture I had already bought he told me it would be $92 to install the light fixture, the light switch that had gone bad was a dimmer switch and he told me it would be another $85 dollars to install the dimmer switch. So after all was said and done I would've paid $370 plus tax so close to $400 JUST to have a switch replaced and light installed, I paid the electrician for his visit and told him we would be looking elsewhere, I will say the ladies answering the phone at the office we're very nice and so was the electrician who came and I know he doesn't control the costs however this company's prices are absolutely ridiculous. read more
