I wish I could give a negative star review. My experience was that bad. I hired Prestige for a bathroom remodel and was told it would be completed in a week. One week after demoing the existing shower, the owner, Jeff, pressured me to pay the second installment that was supposed to be due AFTER completing the new shower per the contract I signed, because the new shower was "essentially done". It wasn't "essentially done", but like a fool I paid him anyway because I trusted him when he said it would be done the next day. It wasn't. So many things were wrong with this project. First, Jeff only showed up once a day for a short period of time. Each day that the tile crew worked on the shower, I had to have changes made because they didn't do it right. Unfortunately, I couldn't communicate with them because they didn't speak English. Also, guess what? Jeff couldn't speak Spanish, so they tried to communicate via a language app of some kind that didn't do a very good job translating Spanish to English, so I'm sure it didn't do a very good job translating English to Spanish. Neither Jeff, or the tile crew, ever showed up on time. Sometimes they never showed up and never called or texted. The only way I found out any information was texting or calling myself. Sometimes I wouldn't find out any information for hours. Very unprofessional. A month has gone by minus 9 days I was on a planned vacation, so with 21 days of them working to get my shower right, it still wasn't done. It was worse off than before they started. Also, it became abundantly clear they weren't capable of doing the type of tile work I was requesting even though Jeff assured me they were. After letting him know the bathroom remodel wasn't going to work, we concluded TOGETHER that the shower would need to be demoed again. Not necessarily a complete demo, but a significant one. He promised he would make that happen starting the next day. He fired the tile crew and said his brother lays tile and would take over the shower and floor tile projects. He didn't show up the next day because his truck conveniently broke down on I-465 and would come back the next day. Truck still not done, but will come back the next day. Still not done, etc. I'm beginning to get suspicious that he's never coming back. While I wait to hear back from him I discover he violated Indiana Building Code 2012 Indiana Plumbing Code Section 305.6.1 that states, "No waterlines shall be concealed in outside walls, above grade.". They moved the shower head from an inside wall to an outside wall per my request. As a handyman, he should know the building codes so a homeowner or business owner doesn't unknowingly let someone violate a building code. An insurance company won't cover any damage if you violate a building code. I haven't heard from him since May 24, 2025. If he were ethical, he would've kept his word. I requested my money back ($9,440), but he's been silent. I'm currently taking the matter up with my credit card company. If for some reason that doesn't work out, I will move to the next phase of getting my money back. Please do not hire this man. I asked him if he does the work I hired him to do (plumbing, electrical, drywall, tile, and painting), not his company, and he said yes. That lead me to believe he was going to do the work, not workers he finds off the street. The picture is how the shower looked when he asked for the second installment saying it was "essentially done".
You can believe his response, or my review. I could've written much more. I did not breach the contract. He had plenty of time to reach out to me, but never did. We only moved the wall once before it was anchored. It was changed twice in length because he didn't measure properly for some clear blocks to be placed on top of the wall. Based on his remark that I was gaining 4" of room after removing the existing shower, I should've ended up with 31" of shower, instead of a very tight 27". Again, you have to remember, he completely agreed with me and said they would adjust it, and fired the crew because they weren't doing the job right. He was in over his head on this project. It was a custom job that neither he, nor his crew were capable of doing, then stopped communicating with me. In retrospect, I guess I should've gotten it in writing. I still believed him at that point. read more
