One problem for me has been when a company offers free shipping as "Vistek" does, but excluded NWT, Yukon, and Iqaluit, even though Yukon is closer to their Edmonton and Calgary stores than Winnipeg that would get free shipping. And I have spoke with them about it, but their shipping policy is written in stone. So when pre-ordering an expensive Canon R5 MKii camera, battery, and accessories, I did not want to pay extra shipping charges. Contacting The Camera Store they assured me free shipping was indeed included, so I placed my order. I got excellent service, staff interaction (Liz was prompt to answer questions, and update me on my pre-order progress), and shipping was fast. Thank you Kerri. I made a few purchases since, and still even though not that expensive, the service was excellent. This will be my starting store for camera shopping until they do not carry what I am looking for. I highly recommend The Camera Store online shopping, as my experience has been the absolute best. The B & H store was one I favoured previously, with the problem of paying USA dollars with Canadian dollars, so am totally happy to have accidentally found The Camera Store, and it will be my main contact going forward.

    I'm a little sad that I have to write a negative review about Saneal. I don't write many negative…read morethings about businesses. My story is this. I purchased a DJI Phantom 3 drone here last night, and couldn't get it to work. The issue was that I couldn't download the latest firmware update to get my drone to function. I spent a good 3 hours starting and restarting, resetting and rebooting. Nothing was working. I finally got through to technical support and they suggested that I reinstall the old update. I really didn't think it was necessary since the original update failed. This is where it gets interesting. I tried to return it less than 24 hours of purchasing it. John the manager said that I couldn't. I was not a happy camper at this point. It states right on the receipt that you can do exchanges within 10 days of purchase. John told me that I could only exchange it if the drone was working. My question is why would I exchange it, if it were working ? We argued the store policy (which was not honored. He basically told me that the drone was working when it left his store. It was my fault it wasn't working after failing the firmware update. My question is this. If you buy something from Saneal, like a digital SLR for example and it doesn't work, you can't exchange or return it. I had this very issue. I took the DJI home, it wouldn't update and therefore was not working. John wouldn't exchange it, and said if I had an issue to call the general manager (Jack). I called Jack, and told him my situation. He said to have the South center store courier it to the downtown store and he would have a look at it. If he can't get it to work that he would exchange it. I pray to God that this problem gets resolved. I will update this review as to what sort of resolution they came to. I just wanted to let you know about Saneal's return policy. There are no refunds, just exchanges within 10 days. The South Center store didn't even honor the exchange part. In conclusion, I'm now without any product which I paid good money for and have nothing to show for it. I also wanted to add that I have been a relatively good customer here in the past. Just lucky the items I previously purchased worked. I'll definitely think twice about buying anything here in the future. I HOPE YOU ALL WILL TOO !!!!!!! It's now on the fourth day without resolution. I called and asked for a refund now. They said if anything, they might do an in store credit. Jack, who I thought was the decision maker had to talk over what they were going to do. I wished I had purchased my drone at Best Buy. I would've had my money back by now. Please if you have any suggestions on what I should do message me. Thinking of going to the media about this. Updated 5/3/2016 Neil, one of the partners of Saneal Camera's (head ofiice) resolved my issue. He was professional, and courteous. I just wished John at South Center would've had better customer service skills. I will most definitely think twice about purchasing again from Saneal. If I do. it'll be through the head office location.

    MOST HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE !!!!…read more My husband was always buying very expensive camera equipment from this store and suggested to go there for my passport photo. But my experience of the customer service I've got from this store manager was the worst experience ever. When he took my payed upfront photo he wasn't even willing to show it to me. Then, when I wasn't happy with the print, with one of my eye being half closed, I was faced with his resistance of possibility of a retake. There was no way of getting the refund for it either! Basically at this place you will end-up short of $27 and useless passport photo. It's true, I have lost 27 dollars at this place and this place lost me as a customer... But they also lost my husbands $2000/3000 per year purchases. (Maybe the company will deduct that from the store manager salary)

    This is a good place to go to for professional advice and equipment. For lower end…read morehobbyist/consumer grade stuff make sure to get them to price match The Camera Store because they're usually cheaper. For almost everything you can say "It's cheaper at The Camera Store" and they won't bat an eye and match it quickly with zero fuss. As for professional equipment the guys that work their pro counter are more knowledgeable than most of The Camera Store's staff. They're not biased towards brands which is very important in my opinion. Nobody wants to be told that the reason they're having problems is because they invested $8k in canon or because they invested $k in Nikon or something silly like that. If you're interested in digital MF I think these guys really stand out. Every single one of their pro counter guys are knowledgeable in this regard compared to only about 1 or 2 staff members at The Camera Store being knowledgeable enough to answer serious questions about a MF workflow. Do keep in mind if an obscure item's not in stock it's going to take bloody forever for them to get it. They order it through their Toronto head office and unfortunately all the incoming stock at the head office gets diverted to their toronto locations and the calgary locations get the scraps. But they do stock the regular, important equipment. Also: NO REFUNDS IF YOU'VE SO MUCH PULLED A LENS OR CAMERA OUT OF IT'S PACKAGING BAGGIE. If you're an impulse shopper DO NOT SHOP HERE. Shop at best buy or something where they'll refund your impulse purchase. Keep in mind you can rent equipment before trying it.

Clearly it wasn't mentioned at day of purchase and now we have a drone that has no use for us, I will personally will never go to this store again and wouldn't recommend for anyone to do so
