Being charged $438 to clear a single drain, especially after a "senior discount", is extraordinary and unjustifiable for a job that took only minutes. What's most troubling is the lack of pricing transparency. Had I been given even a general fee range when scheduling, I would not have agreed to schedule their plumber. I feel blindsided and taken advantage of. I will not use Roto-Rooter again and would strongly caution others to do their research before calling and ask detailed pricing questions before calling.

While I appreciate…read morethat the company has agreed to cover the cost of the new flooring, vanity, and faucet, I've been left with unresolved damage to both of my closet organizers -- damage that occurred during the service, not from the original water issue. Despite sharing photos and explaining the concerns in detail, the proposed solution has been to paint over cosmetic damage and patch the units rather than replace or properly restore them. I've been cooperative throughout this process and just want a fair resolution that reflects the condition of the items before they were handled. What's especially frustrating is that this unresolved issue is now delaying progress with my insurance claim. I've tried to address this directly and professionally with their team, but so far, there's been no acceptable path forward. I'm still hoping Roto-Rooter will step up and make this right -- and I'll gladly update this review if the issue is resolved. Until then, I'm sharing my experience so others know to be cautious and thorough when reviewing post-service damage.

In less than two hours, they discovered we had a totally clogged dryer vent. They cleaned it out and provided us with a solution that should work until they come back in a year and a half to clean out the dryer vent again. I cannot speak personally about the other services they offer. I can tell you dryer vent cleaning is a necessity.

But you'll also receive the minimum amount of correction for your home, while they charge premium prices for their service because they are so familiar with the industry. We would have been better off not calling them at all and having the work done on our own. In this case, we were just out 2K for them to tell us we had water damage, cut holes in our wall and install fancy drying equipment. Well, duh. We already knew that. They might work better for you if you don't care or you want someone to control the entire insurance claim process. But I guess it depends on what you're looking for. I'm not from the area, so Harris was a referral from a family member's girlfriend. My opinion is the service is almost scam worthy.

The day of service I signed a document stating $3500 was the fee for the take down and they would need to come and check daily to ensure it's dry to remove the machines in my home drying the kitchen and dining room. 2 days later they came to remove the equipment and had me sign another document with a new price of $6500 me being ignorant I signed under the impression insurance would cover the cost . 1 month later the work by my contractor was still being done and my insurance is going back and forth about payment to roto rooter over charging me and the manager was set on keeping the price from what my insurance said the law states they can charge . About 2 weeks later accounts payable Kelly is sending documents and calling and emailing me with threats to place a lien on my home it payment isnt received keep in mind it's $1600 over what insurance agreed to pay them they are saying I need to pay the difference. they already quoted $3500 then changed the price 3 days later they knew they were going to need to the guys to check that equipment over the next 2 days so why wasn't that charged in the initial invoice . I'm currently being threatened with liens Damon has not contacted me back I've left messages with Kelly , I've also relied on my insurance adjuster to communicate on my behalf still no response . They do bad unprofessional business and it's seems very money hungry and misleading over charging customers and threatening them with liens.

Please Read before making a decision, please know that my over all review is pretty hard to give,…read morehere's why: In Jan of 2018 when we had a pipe burst that was due to a broken spigot knuckle ( that was not our fault, this was stated by the plumbing company. Long story short, the plumbing company i had to call on a "fly literally" The owner and his partner showed up, which was a blessing for our family, they then noted that we would need a Remediation company who the owner of the plumbing company called right then for me. Midwest came out, and looked around gave us a quote, the men who came out were OUT STANDING in every possible way, so good that one their mannerism and they way they worked I would highly recommend them!! SO here is why I can ONLY give 3 stars, which if it wasn't for the Amazing workers that showed up, I would not have been able to give the company even 3 stars... Reasons are when it came to paying, we desperately tried to work with this company, we had asked to be put on a payment plan, due to deciding not to turn it in to our insurance because the cost was just barely enough that the insurance would even cover it, plus it happened so early in the year, that we were not willing to risk turning it in. So the finance manager had verbally promised my husband that he would email us the promissory note ( which unfortunately never came ) If that wasn't bad enough the ladies running the office seemed to be very UN-organized, and sneaky... What I mean is they don't return calls well, and when they did, one of the ladies who was older tried to get me to verbally authorize a payment right there over the phone. First off I knew better, and I told her, that my husband had all ready talked to the finance manager, a payment plan had all ready been decided on, and that we were still waiting on the promissory note to be emailed, she would need to talk further with my husband about the payment. That's she quickly stopped and changed course, and let me know she knew about the promissory note, and even went as far to say "I was a very smart woman" Due to taking Dave Ramsey (FPU class) in Feb through April, deep down inside I knew because "yes" we owed the money for the work that was done to this company. Even though they did not keep their end of what they said they would do, every month from Feb on, my husband and I put the verbally agreed monthly payment amount away, so that regardless of whether or not we heard from them, we were going to save up the rest of the money and pay off the debt we owed them. ( We now know there is a much better way!!) Some months had passed and they even tried to email me survey about how they did, I laughed because they never did what they said they were going to do, then a month or so later they sent us a bill for the remaining amount, they didn't ask for the monthly payment that had been decided on, that was to be paid in payments according to the note we never got. So my husband called them and asked to speak the the finance manager, who was said to be out, again about the note, from what I know my husband didn't hear back from him. Well this past month we did pay them completely. I don't know what is going on with them as a company. I know that they have some Awesome God fearing men who work for them, and due Amazing work, and for that alone I do give them 5 perfect starts!!! I do know that January was a crazy cold month, and from what I heard a lot of people experienced even worse than what we did. I forgive them as a company for the mistakes that they made, I even hesitated to even give a review, because of how mixed mine is..... I don't like for any one to try to trick me into saying or doing something, which is in fact what I felt the older lady whom I spoke to over the phone that day tried to do to me, " then when she realized it wasn't going to happen" then said I was a "smart woman" "Ladies it's just simple talk with your spouse, be on the same page" Also before I do go further, I know how it is to be over whelmed, I get that.... It just bothered me, that they never reached out to us, and said "hey look, things are crazy we have been crazy backed up, when is a good time to send this promissory note to you, so we can get this money taken care of" Rather than just sending us a bill, and not calling us back. Again I forgive them, do I recommend them as a company, I would like too, because the work that was done was Amazing, the guys knew what they were doing. However I am not sure on office personnel, or financial department. In my humble opinion, because of the potential that they really do have to be a Great Company, if they had more help, and a better organized way of dealing with and handling business, both in the front office for taking and returning calls, as well as the finance department. They would really rock!! Right now I say: if you are a God fearing person and you have peace on hiring them. Then do so, if not then don't.

Following a flood in my basement, I requested a quote on December 18, 2025. Seth repeatedly led me to believe the estimate was almost ready, causing me to delay hiring a different company--a decision I deeply regret. They didn't actually start the work until January 2026. Furthermore, they were completely dishonest about the costs. I was told the total would be $21,000, but that a $5,000 credit would be issued via a change order because they used cheaper materials. I have the text messages to confirm this agreement, yet they are now claiming no such promise was ever made. Their lack of integrity is appalling. Avoid this company at all costs.

The employees and service provided by Indians Crawl.Space were outstanding. I called for an estimate to repair damage to my crawl space. Larry arrived exactly as scheduled to inspect & provide me with 2 viable options to repair the damage. After learning about the 2 options, the benefits associated with encapsulating my crawl space were obvious ... despite the increase in cost. The team leader assigned to my project, James Patton did an outstanding job and took the time to explain & actually show me the work performed. After completing the job, he went above and beyond by sending me a series of "before" and "after" photos of my crawl space. This review would be incomplete without mentioning the outstanding customer service provided by the office member, Erica. She called to initially schedule, confirm and provide a detailed outline of what to expect, including the name of the Team Lead and their arrival time. I listed…read moreon my request to be quotes for the following work: -Joist replacements -vapor barrier installation (never had one in) -old insulation removal (installed wrong) -new insulation installation -some work near the sill plate to fix a small leak Let me first say that all the staff I talked with were incredibly friendly! I will pay extra for companies that go above and beyond, and for that reason I was leaning towards Indiana Crawl Space Repair. Whoever mans the phone over there is very kind! I knew when I purchased my home that a few of the joists would need replaced. I confirmed what the inspector told me by getting a quote for the work with another company- about 4K was their estimate, which included a newly found issue, MOLD... I'm reluctant to pay that much, so I wanted a second opinion. So I called ICSR and informed them of the findings and requested an itemized quote for all issues now found. They were quick and polite ! We scheduled a visit only 2 weeks out, which worked fine for me. I allowed the technician to begin the inspection before I arrived back home. He was younger than I would have expected, but courteous none-the-less. The issue was the quote and it's amount. The quote work was exhaustive in the work he believed was needed, which included a very fancy drain system. It also included some other items that I didn't request that would "ensure my crawlspace not retain water"- although this isn't my issue because the crawl doesn't flood. The real issue I saw was that the biggest portion of my original requests- the joists- weren't even included in the cost estimation... when I asked him why he said because he could see no damage. After a few extra questions on how that could be, I discovered that he didn't remove any of the old insulation to check the joists, and only assessed what was visible to the naked eye. The total costs for work I didn't ask for, and for work that didn't address my biggest concern was $12k all in all!! I don't believe his intention was to sticker shock me; i'm just not sure he knew exactly what I was looking for with the work I requested. My rating here was hard to assess- in terms of employees, I would give 5 Stars... in terms of costs I would say more like 2 Star. I will mention, I've been told for all the work they quoted, the price really wasn't bad. Just not what I was looking for.

(Just for the record they probably could've done it in less time had our carpet not previously been royally messed up). Not only that, but they came back two days later to guarantee they effectively scrubbed out all the residue left in our carpet. For context, my family came over to help my boyfriend and I clean our condo's carpet ourselves, since our cats had pretty much decimated sections of our carpet with cat urine and vomit over the years. Between deep cleaning with rental equipment and drying the carpet with three rented industrial fans, we invested about $300 and 3 days of labor ourselves. Wish I could say it was worth it, but after all was said and done, we were left with residue filled carpet that felt worse than we started (I've since been informed I over saturated our carpet in cleaning solution which left behind that gross sticky residue - don't believe the ratios on the damn bottle). It left my feet with a grimy black substance on it, and also, because who doesn't love a cherry on top, the smell of cat urine still persistently lingered like the ghost of Christmas past. Frustrated to say the least, we caved, called in the professionals, and after seeing their results I can confidently say I'll never deep clean a carpet myself again in this lifetime. Just call in the pros. The first day, they were in and out in less than 30 minutes total and that was after they sprayed some extra enzymatic solution to kill the incessant pet odor everywhere. They even came back when I'd called and said the carpet still felt sticky in some areas, and again were in and out in even less time than before. True champs. They were efficient, friendly, professional, non-judgmental (can't say I'd be the same if I walked in and saw some of our gnarly cat stains), communicated everything patiently, and they were just amazing in general. Wish I could give more than 5 stars.

Their job was to just dry the wooden stumps and clean the basement. The quote itself was very high but I did proceed with it due to limited time and urgency. As a part of their job, they were supposed to return my basement in a cleaned state. However, they added this activity as an additional cost when it should have been part of the job. Als,they took an additional day and inflated my invoice by about 25% higher to $3050.when cleaning to the target drying level should have been their intention from the get go. Further, they threatened to lien my property and foreclose it for not paying this extra $500. They did not ask for verbal approvals for the authorization to proceed with the increase in costs. They are resorting to corporate holliganism. Giving inaccurate estimates and inflating invoices, adding additional labor and costs that should have been covered as part of their estimated and quoted work. Please stay away from First Serve. Integrity, accuracy and feedback from the customers are important but they wouldn't want to accept it.
