The Battersea Power Plant area is amazing with so many shops, restaurants and bars. It has changed so much. My husband remembers when it was a decrepit area in need of much repair. We stopped at a local brewery and their kitchen, so we decided to visit Roti King. The tables were close together, you can definitely talk to your neighbor, but the service was good, and the food was decent. My husband enjoyed his lamb roti with a lentil soup. I'm glad they stayed open after 8 pm.

11/10 this place is so addicting. I was in London for 2 weeks and I ate here 5 times! I left London a week ago and I'm already craving some roti king. The dahl is to die for!

Decided to go for Malaysian food for my first meal in London and Roti King did not disappoint! Worth the wait imo. My party of 4 came for dinner. We arrived at the restaurant on Sunday evening around 6:30 pm and there was a decent sized line outside. We waited 45 minutes before getting seated, though I think it's a bit faster if you're a party of 2 as the party behind us was seated first. It's a small restaurant with not a lot of tables. I don't recommend coming with more than 3 others, since I'm not sure whether they can seat larger group. The menu is super straightforward with one page of drinks and the other side is the food. The menu isn't extensive here, which makes it easy to quickly decide what to get. We shared the roti canai with chicken (£9.75), though they offer it with various proteins like lentils, fish, and even mutton. It was the first dish to come out and was delicious! The roti is still hot from the stove and is super soft and flaky. The chicken curry dip was fantastic as well. We killed this super quickly. We also shared the spiced fried chicken (£9.50 for 5 pieces) and thought it was solid. For my main, I got the kari laksa (£11.50) since it was a bit chilly out and I wanted something hot and soupy. There was a slightly sweet coconut flavor to the broth, but it tasted a bit bland, perhaps because I was eating it directly after the roti canai which was very flavorful. It doesn't look like a bit bowl when it first comes out, but there's a lot of shrimp and bean sprouts hiding in there. The broth was also a bit spicier than I was expecting, but it was manageable. My friend got the char kuey teow (£11.50). I tried a bite and thought it was delicious, though portions were smaller. Service was a bit dicey, and we had to ask for tape after three times before we finally got it. Still, the food was good. I'd go back if I visit London again!

I love Malaysian food so I've been always looking for Malaysian restaurants at any destinations I travel to. I discovered Roti King on Google Reviews. The restaurant was a short walk from Euston station. We arrived 30 minutes before the restaurant opened at 12, but there were already several people in the queue. As soon as we entered the queue, more people came in even though it was raining. They had a designated area for queuing. The restaurant was quite small but clean. It's definitely not for a big group. We could also see the chef making roti canai in front of us. We ordered a several dishes and drink to dine in and couple of dishes to go. Mutton Roti Canai was recommended, but we decided to go with Fish Roti Canai. For those who never have roti before- it's a flaky flatbread similar like paratha. The roti was so fresh and fluffy. Fish curry was delicious!!!! It was so good that we had to get it again for dinner. This time, we ordered through UberEats. We got both mutton and fish roti canai. We decided fish roti canai was the winner - must try item here. We also ordered the Kari Laska and their number 1 famous Char Kuey Teow to share between 2 of us, but I didn't like it as much as I expected - mainly the seafood was overcooked in both dishes. For drink, we got one hot and one cold Teh Tarik, they were so so good - another must try item! For desert I got the planta sweet roti ( with condense milk) and it was delicious. We ordered to go Nasi Goreng (fried rice ) and Nasi Lemak (coconut rice with fried chicken, egg and fried anchovies) that I forgot to take photos. In my opinion,Nasi Lemak was better. Overall, I was very satisfied with the food here and I was glad I got to try almost every items on the menu. Service was great and food came out pretty quickly. Highly recommend anyone who're visiting London. You will not be disappointed at all.

    Dessert - Pisang (2/5)

As a self-proclaimed Roti Canai addict, I was pumped to try Roti King! Anytime I see it on a menu, it's a must-order. Roti King surprised me with options beyond my usual chicken--beef and fish were also on the menu. I took a leap and tried the fish, though the waitress wasn't sure what kind of fish it was. It turned out tasty, but the curry had this strong, lemony twist that threw me off. Not bad, but I've had better. We couldn't resist dessert and went for the Pisang--a banana mashed into roti. It sounded promising, but honestly, it was just okay. The banana flavor totally took over. Fun to try, but nothing to write home about. All in all, Roti King was an adventure, but I've had more memorable Roti Canai experiences.

Came here for lunch. Fast service and friendly staff. The restaurant is clean with a cute vibe. The food was good. The fresh roti with different dipping sauces to order from. We got two noodles, the laksa and megorrang. Both were spicy but it wasn't so bad that it's not tolerable. We also got a rice to try. The chicken wasn't our favorite. The spicy sauce that came with the rice was good. Overall we had a great meal.

We arrived as soon as they opened for dinner but waited in line for one hour to try the food here. As soon as we were seated, we ordered the roti canai and laksa. The food came out pretty fast and was very tasty. I liked the flaky roti and the flavor of the sauce was like thick curry. The laksa was also delicious so I can see the hype but only if you are willing to wait and dine in a small confined space with some very noisy customers.

Amazing. Finally got here for a full (non-solo, non-pre-other-big-meal) meal with a group of four and ordered most of the menu: two dhal roti canais, two chicken roti canais, the spinach & cheese murtabak, the nasi lemak, nasi goreng, char kuey teow, kari laksa, and ayam goreng berempah. The roti itself is the single best thing, no surprise (I think I preferred the dahl over the chicken, but both were great), followed by the laksa, which had the most incredible broth, and the murtabak, which tasted like an incredible quesadilla. The char kuey teow was probably next, and would probably be a re-order candidate next time around. Our table was pretty blown away and we all left extremely happy. This will be a must stop for us on future London trips.

If this was in Penang it would be maybe 3/5 stars. Doesn't hold a candle compared to kapitan mamak restaurant (IYKYK). But this being in London it's a welcomed nostalgic experience. A little on the pricy side but I get it. It's London. I give it an extra star to account for the market it's in. Would recommend, close to the real thing but not quite

The best Malaysian food I've ever had outside of Malaysia! It's a smaller space so there may be a queue but it's worth the wait. For three, we shared three dishes- the Kari Laksa, Nasi Lemak and Beef Rendang (roti canai). Everything was packed with flavor, great portions, and SO delicious. I would order all three dishes again. If you want to order dessert, you'll have to order it when you order the rest of the food so make sure you know what you want!

This hidden gem is WORTH THE WAIT!! We arrived 30 minutes before close, waited in line, and weren't sure if we would get a table in time. We decided to order takeaway, but the host said there was a table for us!! Since it was almost closing time, the service was understandably quick. Our server was nice and double-checked we ordered everything we wanted before stopping orders. We ordered: -Spinach and cheese murtabak: SO OOEY GOOEY with the warm, melty cheese, and it paired well with the dhal kari. -Kari laksa: very flavorful, a bit spicier than I could tolerate, but I kept coming back for a bite of chewy noodles. -Chicken roti canai: I enjoyed using my hands to scoop up the well-cooked chicken with a piece of soft and warm roti! This was my favorite dish!!! -Hot teh tarik: the spices were sooooo delicious, it felt like a hug in a cup We wish we had room for dessert!! I enjoyed the music, the service, and watching the cooks make the roti!!

    Luggage everywhere
    Sam M.

The food was fairly good. Some dishes were too spicy for us. But the place was too cramped, too loud, too hard to get out of our seats. People next to us had to stand up for us to leave our shared table. There was luggage everywhere. It was very claustrophobic.

    Christine Y.

The meal was enjoyable but this place is incredibly overhyped. First, the entire restaurant is super cramped which, in my opinion, can only be justified by some insane food. Everything was tasty (and spicy) but the beef curry had the toughest chunks of beef I've ever encountered.

Tiny place but no matter. You come for the Roti, but stay for the Laksa. The pulled tea over ice is a miss, but that's on me.

I was a complete supper-club virgin...until "Plus-Six-Five" deflowered me!…read more I had heard about this supper club through the grapevine and then decided to gather a few friends and try it out. To be honest, I wasn't quite sure what to expect: who are these people who invite complete strangers into their homes and cook up a storm for them? Don't they have their own friends, who they can invite? What if this is a trap and they hold us ransom and ask for a shit-load of money to let us free again? - Well, turns out that all my suspicions and concerns were thrown over-board, once I entered the Goz's flat (Goz, by the way, is the host of this Singaporean Supper Club.) We were seated immediately and started nibbling on the spicy appetizers that were placed in front of us. Soon the room filled up with other strangers just like us and, while in the beginning it was certainly a little awkward, the common experience of this awkwardness made us bond rather quickly and soon we were chatting away with our fellow supper-clubians. To be honest, I can't remember what kind of dishes were served up, but I do remember that all of them were excellent - especially a meat dish, that had stewed away for a few days apparently. At the end of the night, we were in for two more treats: 1) we tried home-made macaroons by a local amateur-pastry chef and 2) we experienced coffee from a Singaporean coffee-roastery; the owner himself poured the coffee for us, explaining various intricate details about the bouquet along the way... Overall, I truly enjoyed my first time...and I can almost say that since then I've been to another supper club and I've already lined up two more. Perhaps because I'm not of the origin of food that they serve, they palmed me off with 2 pieces of chicken breast meat, with a fork and spoon of course in order to add to the debacle. For those who know this dish swill understand that the best part is the leg meat, on the bone, that becomes somewhat gelatinous, and somewhat undercooked when it is immersed in ice quickly after cooking. Unfortunately I didn't get any of this, and the breast meat a little overdone. Service was a bit dull and rather unenthusiastic.
