Upon entering , there was a burly brunette staring daggers at me as I pushed my toddler into the store. Normally, when walking into a store, you are greeted with a smile, simple hello or welcome. That was not the case here. The unsavory individual who I believe was a manager to two much younger employees, then immediately went into the back. I walked over to my sister who was with a lovely sales associate who assisted my indecisive sister with choosing one pair over the other. I wish I caught her name because she was so sweet, helpful and apologetic when I shared with her how much I didn't care for the other employee's attitude upon entering store.
Some time after, the woman comes out from the back looking directly at me and I ask her if she's having a nice day. She completely brushed me off then I describe to her how uncomfortable I felt with the unwelcoming energy I received from her walking into the store. My sister quickly chimed in stating she experienced the same thing except the woman rolled her eyes at my sister when she walked in. Who does that?! In response, the woman said with the NASTIEST ATTITUDE, "we're experiencing a leak, so I'm focused on that." Huh? Despite 4-5 small black trash bins scattered about the store collecting water drips from a leak, I let her know that it's 108+ degrees outside, so an apparent a/c leak is understandable. The completely unwarranted ATTITUDE walking into the store is not. She ROLLED HER EYES and as the younger sales associate rubbed her arms as if communicating she should calm down. A part of the experience felt like extreme racial discrimination (Roseville isn't the most diverse area) but I will just attribute her nasty attitude to her being an awful person. She then went back to the back and never came back out.
The two younger sales associates were deeply apologetic and so sweet. My sister purchased a few items (despite my petitions to not patronize) and was happy with her items and the service received. Once we walked out of the store, I felt inclined to see how I can submit a complaint against this person because of how deeply uncomfortable, unwelcome and disrespected both my sister and I felt in the store. So, I go back inside and see the woman RUDELY YELLING at the employees saying something like "one of you needs to be at the front now!!!" It was so disgusting seeing her talk to those lovely young girls like that. I'm pretty sure they hate their job. I digress...
That said, F*** ROTHY'S in Roseville. Go to the location in SF, if you can. Good products but what good is your product if customers and employees are treated like pure trash. read more
