What a psychedelic place!!! In the heart of Houston, this alien/space inspired saloon with a splash of 70s really takes you into another world. I'm all for it! The crowd is mixed but mostly a lot of people in their 20s here. Super fun environment. Drinks are of course) pricey but is an exceptional saloon with a super unique quality. I would definitely recommend. Parking is hard so I would say to park somewhere and uber for sure. Refugee is right across the street if it's a bit too trippy for your liking. I would say I wish this place was bigger. Super small inside and hard to even stand. I would say about 30 people fit comfortably downstairs and maybe 10 people fit comfortably upstairs. Still love this place and highly recommend. If you are going with a group, i would try getting there before 10 if you want to save some seats! It can get crowded on a Saturday night.

What a cool and unique spot! They have so many led and black lights and really did a great job with theme! When I first arrived I did think that the space was much smaller than I anticipated so might want to keep that in mind if you are planning to go with a large group. The drinks were well priced and very affordable! You ordered at the bar and could sit anywhere. There is an upstairs area as well that is very cool to overlook below. There was a DJ playing inside as well that played some great classic "party hits" mostly targeted at upper 20s and 30s aged crowd. Overall a cool place to check out and at least grab a drink!

New favorite bar! What a neat, original and just fun bar overall. We came here with some friends on a Friday night at around 8pm and as soon as we walked in, we couldn't stop taking pictures! We then went to the bar to order our drink and there are so many neat cocktail options that make it hard to choose. I decided on the Cosmic Cooler which had coconut rum, herbal liqueur, guanabana nectar, lemongrass syrup, lime and pineapple purée. I liked it but felt like it should have been stronger. Service was fine but it was a bit of a wait. I would definitely come back for a beer just because I loved the ambiance and decorations so much!

So we happened upon this bar walking around Montrose and were so surprised none of us heard of it or saw anything about it on the various lists we've scoured. Upon walking in, it def feels like a fun, trippy vibe with lots of UV and neon. This extends to the drinks as well! Service was good, took our orders and made our drinks relatively quickly. It was surprisingly not super packed for a Saturday night but we weren't complaining. The music here was great and I do wish they had some sort of dance floor but that's just me. The drinks themselves were also just good and fun. I got the mango lassi drink and yes, it tasted amazing and they put some UV active garnishes so it was really fun. Highly recommend for a night out bar hopping!

While they dont serve food, their service is always top notch. The Ambiance is 1960 SciFi meeting urban vibes. They have special events like Neon Burlesque on occasion.

I came here in the beginning of June, with one of my girl-friends. The service was quick, it gave space vibes. The drinks were all glow in the dark related , which was on theme.

This newish Montrose bar definitely has a fun intergalactic vibe. Roswell's is a great stop for a bit of drinking and hanging out without pretentiousness. The theme of the bar is really highlighted in the decor and even the names and appearance of the signature cocktails. The funky space and aliens theme creates quite the mood, helped by black lights, light box illusions, neon felt posters, and wall of lava lamps. They transported me back to the early 2000s Spencer's Gifts days. It's a fun and unique vibe! I was able to take advantage of the daily 7-8 happy hour special. Half off cocktails is part of the happy hour specials! A monthly rotating cocktail based on the astrological calendar is also offered, which I though was pretty fun. My drink the Illemonati was very tasty and looked delightful under the black light. Upstairs is where the black light posters cover the walls in a groove mosaic masterpiece! Unfortunately it was quite warm upstairs when we visited. The heat was turned up a bit too much, and it was extra toasty. The outside patio is nondescript but offers heat lamps to stay warm as possible on a chilly evening. Overall a nice bar to check out for fun times and fun visuals.

Went here for happy hour with my best friend and had a grand time. I first saw this place on IG and knew we def had to check it out. The vibes are IT. The bartenders are also super fun and friendly. We definitely made a few friends that day. Their happy hour is 7-8pm daily, which is perfect because normal happy hour is a little too early for me. I had a few of the Mercury in Retrograde, which is a gin drink and a couple of the Lithium Crystal shots... which was def enough to get our night started. I'm def returning with more of my friends!

My stars are for the happy hour (7-8pm). It's one of the few that has one where you aren't rushing after work. Bartenders were nice and friendly, drinks were good enough. Would I go out of my way to recommend this spot? Probably not, but I wouldn't say no if a friend wanted to go. Cute little space-y/neon/black light kinda spot. Parking is in the back behind Boondock's.

stopped by Roswell's Saloon because the other bar we originally wanted to visit had a long waitlist. the theme at Roswell is incredibly well-executed - the interior is all glow-in-the-dark, and the drinks match the ambiance. it creates a really cool vibe for hanging out. i saw that they have a happy hour with half-priced cocktails from 7 pm to 8 pm, which is a great deal! definitely keeping that in mind for next time.

Cool space themed bar in the heart of Montrose. Decor was pretty neat and the ambiance is casual and inviting. I went on a Saturday evening around 7pm so it wasn't too crowded and my friends and I were easily able to snag a booth on the first floor. If you are looking for a fancy cocktail bar, I wouldn't recommend this place. They have a cosmic themed drink menu and some of their specialty cocktails come pre-made and are just made to look aesthetically pleasing but is nothing to brag about and overpriced, in my opinion. If you come between 7-8pm, they have half off all cocktails. That's something I'd come back for but overall, this is not my scene. Still definitely a cool place to check out if you're bar hopping in the area. Parking: Valet only but if you venture into the neighborhoods you can find street parking.

I didn't eat any food here. However, I did have a few drinks. The drinks were smaller than what I expected to be. They come in these cups that are like plastic feeling. but I really, really love the neon in the building. They have a two-story building so I really like the upstairs and the downstairs. I got some really amazing pictures here so it's really good for ambience and for photography. It's really close to other businesses around the area so once you are done drinking there, you can either go eat or check out another bar. The service was okay. The bartenders were nice. I'd come back on a busy day lol

Now this was the last stop in the Montrose Pub crawl so things were a bit hazy by this point. Though I do remember some of it and all the glow in the dark decor. Definitely would like to possibly try this place out on another night seems very unique and heard drinks were pretty good as well.

It felt like a place you could hang out for a while, whether you're there to celebrate something or just have a few drinks with friends. One thing to note is they don't serve food, I did hear they rotate food trucks at times, but none were there when we went which was a bit of a downside, but they did allow us to bring in outside food, which honestly made up for it and gave us more options. Parking wasn't too bad when we went, and since it wasn't super packed, everything felt smooth and easy. Overall, great vibes, good drinks, and a fun place. Definitely a spot I'd come back to for a casual hangout or social night out.

You are drawn, the way one is drawn to a place that promises honesty with a wink. It wears the posture of a dive but carries itself with intention, a little bohem, a little defiant, and entirely comfortable in its own skin. The bar hums with craft. Cocktails arrive balanced and deliberate, built by hands that understand restraint as much as flair. Nothing shouts. Nothing apologizes. Each glass feels considered, as though the bartender paused just long enough to ask what kind of night you were hoping to have, then answered without speaking. The staff moves easily, quick with wit and generous with attention, treating regulars and first-timers as if both had already earned their place. The decor tells its own quiet rebellion. Mismatched, layered, worn just enough to feel lived in, it carries the sense that stories have been told here and will be told again. And then there are the bathrooms, unisex and unashamed, their walls papered with vintage Playboy centerfolds that celebrate the female form not as spectacle but as art. Tasteful, sexy, unapologetic. A reminder that admiration can exist without crudeness, that beauty does not need permission to be acknowledged. The Two Headed Dog is less a bar than a posture toward the world. It resists neat categories. Not quite dive, not quite cocktail lounge, not quite anything else that could be reduced to a label. It is a place for those who appreciate craft without pretension, sensuality without excess, and atmosphere without artifice. In a city that thrives on reinvention, this bar stands firm, confident enough to be exactly what it is and nothing more.

Considering the recent shutter of other places (#2) within the hospitality umbrella, it's not too big of a surprise that Wooster's would also be in the crosshairs. The space was always a nice mix of indoor and outdoor seating, which combined with its dedicated parking lot made this an easy drinking outlet for all kinds of occasions. The intimate indoor space was lovely and well ventilated, and it felt like there wasn't ever a moment where the bar wasn't slammed. The outdoor space was much of the same, with lots of tables and chairs, and even the trendy swing chairs facing the city. The only thing that was a little bit of a liability were those open flame heaters; it would only take on person to accidentally walk into one or trip onto it. For libations, the drinks were well priced, well made, and always potent. I appreciated the aesthetics, as well as the bartenders who made them. The only part that wasn't exciting was the limited food menu, which did its part as munchies for the drink heavy crowd, but was mediocre otherwise. The space is already undergoing the new facelift of a separate concept, one of which I hope will do the area justice, just as much as Wooster's did. ____________ (#1) The Kirby Group. (#2) R.I.P.
