I worked with another real estate agent before Joe and the difference was night and day. Not only did I need to sell my Hawaii property long distance, the market at the time was challenging and the apartment building was scheduled for repiping. But Joe and his team came through every step of the way. From the beginning, they provided a clear break down of costs vs. expected actual net profit and offered various options for marketing packages. Finally, when my unit sold, they provided weekly updates of the current timeline till closing. If you're still reading this, just take one meeting with Joe and you'll know.

My husband and I have been trying to find a rental that will accept our multiple pets for awhile…read morenow and have experienced that majority of the agents with other companies do not reply to any of our calls, emails, and/or texts. They don't even acknowledge that we reached out or applied. When a rental became available with Royal Realty, I immediately called the agent listed for the rental expecting no answer. However, he answered the phone immediately and was very pleasant and helpful! I was shocked! I told him, "Wow, thank you for even answering your phone! Most agents completely ignore my emails and calls." Rodney has consistently communicated with me throughout the viewing and application process. He has been the ONLY agent that has done so throughout our three months of hunting for a rental for our family. Just about when I was going to give up on finding a rental, we met Rodney today in person to view the rental and he was so kind and thorough. He explained every part of the home and even took us around the property to show us where the shared units were located, ones that we were not applying for, but that we would be sharing the space with. He took the time to get to know us as people and made us feel seen and welcomed. Most agents we've seen in person unlock the door and just tell us, "Okay you can go look inside" and never really talk to us or show us around. He was very transparent about the application process and the owners needing time to decide if they would be willing to accept our multiple pets. I told Rodney regardless of the outcome, I truly appreciated his timely and consistent communication with us and meeting him today. We are hopeful that the owners will accept our family and multiple pets, but even if not, our experience with Rodney makes us want to find a rental with this company since we know they will take care of us and our needs. Mahalo nui, Rodney!

Renter Beware: Avoid This Property Management Company…read more I rented through this agency for over 4 years, always paid on time, and left the apartment in better condition than when I moved in. Despite this, they withheld most my security deposit and tried to charge me for furniture that was never even provided in the unit. This wasn't an isolated incident of poor service -- I had requested replacement curtains after mine fell apart, and it took the agency over a year to follow through. Communication was consistently unresponsive and unprofessional throughout my tenancy. What makes this worse is that I now own a rental property myself. Having seen how this company treats tenants, I would never use them -- not as a renter, and not as an owner looking for a property management company. They seem far more interested in squeezing every dollar from deposits than treating good tenants fairly. If you're considering renting from this agency, think twice. And if you're a property owner considering hiring them to manage your property, look elsewhere.

Had a great upfront experience and conversation with Gill Mara about a few of the rental property…read morelistings posted by RedFin. Overall he was courteous and incredibly responsive via email and online inquiry. A few of the rental properties weren't available for immediate showing, which I understand, but Gill did a great job at scheduling me for the earliest dates and times. Unfortunately, things quickly turned when Gill began asking for a (maybe refundable) deposit prior to the official showing date. A rather large deposit amount may I add. I just didn't like feeling pressured into putting money into a rental property that I hadn't seen or experienced yet. Ended up withdrawing my interest due to the pressure.

From the very beginning, I could tell that Khai was looking out for my family's best interest. We discussed a plan and Khai was alongside us every step of the way. Whenever I had concerns or needed help in certain areas (ex. needed a painter), Khai had solutions and provided several options. Whenever I felt confused or not sure where to turn, Khai would take the time to consult the pros, cons and things to consider with me. Khai and his team helped to navigate me with much respect. This review is to state a violation of the landlord/tenant code when Tom Mukai, a realtor for…read moreLocations LLC, entered my rental unit. I was not informed nor was I never notified from my landlord Gavin Baer, also a agent from Locations LLC, that Tom Mukai had obtained a spare key and was entering my apartment without my knowledge. On June 15, 2026, I received a 45 day vacate notice from my landlord Gavin Baer citing that the owner needed the unit for a family emergency. Later I found out that my family was being vacated because the owner was listing his apartment for sale. The 45 day vacate notice gives me until August 15 to completely vacate the Unit. One of the conditions in the rental agreement is to have the apartment cleaned by a professional cleaner. I had a cleaner scheduled for July 31, 2026, at 9am but there was a miscommunication between the cleaning team. My final inspection was also scheduled on the 31st at 130pm but needed to be rescheduled due to the cleaners not showing up. I contacted my landlord and informed him of the problem and asked if I could schedule the final inspection on August 1st. Gavin Baer told me that he was busy that day but really needed to pick up the keys from me so another agent could take photos for a listing. Gavin stated that he was going to call me back and either schedule the picking up of the keys on Sunday Aug 2nd or Monday Aug 3rd however I never received a call from Gavin. On July 31, 2026, at around 330pm I received a call from the cleaners, who was supposed to clean the unit at 9am. The cleaners apologized for not showing up and not returning my calls and wanted to make things right. They showed up around 415pm and started cleaning the unit. I stayed at the unit and assisted with the clean up. I later removed the window screens and went down to the parking structure to wash the screens. When I returned to the apartment at around 348pm, I found a realtor named Tom Mukai standing inside of my unit while the cleaners was cleaning my apartment. I asked Tom Mukai what are you doing in my unit and he stated that he picked up the spare keys from Gavin Baer. Tom Mukai stated that he was there to take photos of the apartment for his listing. I told Tom Mukai that you are not supposed to be in the unit and Tom stated that my lease agreement ended on July 31, 2026. I told Tom Mukai that my lease agreement is still valid until August 15, 2026, and that I still have all the keys. Tom Mukai kept saying "what's the big deal, it's not a big deal". I told Tom Mukai that you just violated the landlord/tenant code and I immediately called Gavin Baer to inform him of the situation. While talking to Gavin Baer via speakerphone Gavin Baer admitted to giving Tom Mukai the spare keys but stated that he did not know that Tom Mukai would go to the apartment. I was fortunate to have the cleaners as witnesses to the whole incident and called 911 to document this incident in a police report. I also sent Gavin Baer an email stating what occurred and he acknowledged the events that took place however I never received an apology from Gavin Baer or Tom Mukai. Gavin Baer also informed me that I did not have to be present for the final inspection and gave me instructions to lock all of the keys and clickers in the apartment. After the cleaners was completed on the 31st I took photos of the unit and locked the doors. My wife and I have been renting the unit for 6 years and has never missed a payment. We raised two of our children in that unit and was expecting our third child to also be raised in that unit until the 45 day vacate notice was given.

It is incredibly rare that I would give someone a 5/5 star rating across the board, but there is no doubt in my mind that it was incredibly well deserved in this instance. From the start, Charlene stood out from all of the other brokers that we interviewed. Her warm personality, knowledge of the market, professional demeanor, and attention to detail was very impressive. I knew this was a person that would be willing to work hard to earn my trust. Her marketing strategy was very impressive, and her willingness to put 'skin in the game' convinced me that she would be the best choice to sell our home.
