I was referred to Caron by my realtor in Southern California. We communicated for a couple months prior to my visit to Honolulu in August. Don't know where all these glowing reviews came from, but my experience with Caron was Completely Different. 2 days after I first contacted her, she informs me of her "ground rules" - one of them being NOT to expect a reply to sent emails for at least 24 hours unless SHE deems them as being urgent! Have never heard of such a thing with any of the other real estate agent that I have Ever dealt with! P.S. I deemed my emails (not that many actually, only a couple on this matter) as Urgent as I was trying to get everything booked for a flt. to HNL early Friday morning and emailed her if 1 Property was still available (as that was the one I was interested in seeing) on Wednesday at noon their time. I FINALLY receive her reply on Thursday morning, less than 24 hours before the flt. is scheduled to leave! By then it was Too Late to make all the necessary arrangements (flt., dog, hotel, car, pack, etc.). I guess she didn't think my emails were urgent (to her anyway). So within 24 hours to find out it 1 property was still available, was Too Much to ask of her customer service skills I guess - then she sends All her ground rules! Wish she would have stated her ground rules in the beginning, and not Wasted ANY of my time. Another one of her many ground rules is to Not use Capital Letters in reflecting urgency, stating she thought that was disrespectful. I do agree my situation was a little bit demanding (trying to find out if 1 property was still available ASAP), but at least I thought she would realize the urgency of me knowing this one little piece of information and maybe her having to bend one of her rules in order to for me to make all the arrangements necessary to leave my house and go to HNL for a few days. But oh no, that's much to ask to do. So I wanted to alert other people that she wasn't nearly as nice to me as she appears to be on Hawaii Life. Bad Experience.. read more

Caron and Barbie Hee were a great team to work with! Caron is super personable and has a great ability to profile her client(s) and understand what they're looking for. She is super patient and literally stayed with us in this process for years...from the time we were first introduced, to when we were actually ready to sell our home, to when we purchased the new one. In that time, she literally saw our children grow up, but was professional and positive throughout our journey to find our new home. We appreciated her positive outlook and she encouraged us to price our home at a higher price (than what we were thinking) for the sale, and to make sure we had a good strategy regarding how to put our home on the market. We ended up getting 2 full-priced offers in less than 2 weeks! (And this with us being out-of-town during the open houses.) Their advice was super instrumental in helping us navigate and negotiate those 2 offers as well, which helped us pick the right buyer, and as such the process went smoothly and without any issues. When it came to the search for a new home, we saw so many over an entire year. There were times we were quite disheartened because we weren't finding anything we loved, or it was out of our price range. A couple of times we almost caved in to buying something we didn't love ...and Caron actually talked us out of it! Clearly she put our best interests before just making a closing, something I truly, truly appreciate. She also talked me out of a beautiful 3 story home, when I couldn't see past the aesthetics and beautiful renovations to see the inconvenience of climbing up and down 3 flights every day and some other issues I was trying to brush aside. SO glad we didn't get that either. When we finally found the home we really wanted, we also so appreciate Barbie's wisdom in positioning our offer just right. We were thinking of low-balling it but she wisely cautioned against that approach-it still being a seller's market and said she would personally put in a higher/stronger offer that would put us in prime position to get it accepted. She was right. Our offer was accepted in 2 days! The process was again smooth and we closed in a month. Totally recommend these 2 ladies and would work with them again. Caron Ling was an excellent agent when I bought my first place in 2010. I didn't know much about the process when I started to look at options (I was interested in taking advantage of the tax credit) and throughout, I found her to be patient, helpful, thorough and responsive. She works with the hours you are available and makes sure no details fall through the cracks. She has a very solid grasp of the local market (and especially condos) and found a unit for me in a desirable building where similar units are offered only once every couple of years. I had many moments of panic when I wasn't sure I was doing the right thing, but with her trademark sense of humor and patience, she talked me through my concerns. I never felt like I was pressured to do anything, and I felt she always had my interests and "wish list" as her first priority. To add to this, despite her sunny demeanor she is a skilled negotiator when the situation calls for it (skills honed during extensive professional development she seeks out, eg at the Columbia School of Business negotiation course) and managed to get the seller to drop their asking price by several thousand dollars at a clutch point. Caron assisted us long distance on our move for work - we were still on the mainland. We never met her ONCE personally until AFTER we closed on the property. We were going through the loss of a terminally ill family member as well, and the timing of it all was such a strange dynamic. Caron worked with us so professionally. She really stepped up her game, writing letters to home owners on our behalf to scout out who might be willing to sell. After several deals fell through - from restrictions by our lender - she never gave up ONCE. It's like she had the right approach/ strategy to re-work the problem every time something happened.Given the time-difference and distance between us., she had A LOT on her plate to reconcile; particularly when we never set foot in the place, she found several ways to communicate effectively. She was always working the deal, and available to us: sometimes we received texts knowing she was up late/early still trying to make it work out for us. There were several obstacles she overcame. Primarily, she found a condo that fit our dog - A HUGE obstacle. NO condo that we were interested in would accept our big dog, yet she found one that would. Next, our lender had so many hoops to jump through for condos it was ridiculous, she managed to meet their timeline for all requirements. She basically held our hand through the entire process. She's amazing and should be recognized for the outstanding service she provides. We will DEFINITELY recommend her to all our colleagues and neighbors.
