This is a fun little discovery at the end of the busy old town area. They had an unfiltered Belgian beer which was pretty good and the red was pretty good as well and the Belgian was pretty good as well. Those are the only three beers I tried so that's all I can report back to you. Where this place excels is that they have an amazing patio and a cute little walk-up window that you can order drinks from inside or they have about eight bar stools and two little TVs inside. As I was on a early morning mission to hike Mt. Hex, I passed through Roslyn, cool looking town, and on I went, as I passed through the town of Ronald, the main store in town was advertising, it stocked, Roslyn Brewing... what?!? A brewery, not on my radar? Could it be possible?... Well, as I'm learning my way around the PNW, I'm finding all kinds of gems, that my sometimes messed up radar didn't pick up. Lol The kicker was having the best pastrami Sando ever, at the Red Bird Cafe, along with a great selection of beers, there was Roslyn Brewery! Of course, ya gotta know the choice I made to drink with my yummy sando? Roslyn brewery Brookside Pale Lager, cool and crisp with tasty Lager flavors.. pale Lager? You might ask? Didn't you mean Pale Ale? So I was thinking as well, but nope, they make a pale lager, very well to boot. So, of course by this time, I'm hoping on Yelp search for this Roslyn Brewery... What!! It just a hop, skip, and a jump from the Red Bird Cafe, so being the beer adventurer I am, I made the hop, skip, and a very excited jump over to Roslyn Brewing, another sweet little place in Roslyn, small inside, but a big area for outside sitting, but definitely at a balmy 30 degrees, it was close quarters at the bar. Great atmosphere, friendly service, just pouring beers.. although they have a great cider menu and wines.. it was definitely a beer drinking crowd. Next time I'll definitely try some of the tasty looking cider choices they offer. Of course, loving the red, I tried the Red Lager.. Yum! I wish they had it in cans.. I would have taken a bunch home. I also tried the Bullfrog IPA, delicious, as well.. a little darker than most IPAs I've had, but full flavor, not over hoppy. I also took a bottle of each of the Pale Lager and a Dark Lager, looking forward to trying them at home as well as return visits to Roslyn and Roslyn brewery. My least favorite brewery (not beer) to date. Our arrival was coldly acknowledged. The gal working never warmed up in the least. The tip jar sitting on the counter was a huge turn off. This brewery is so small (one table) that it's best to fill growlers and enjoy at home. The copper bar was cool. Beer prices were inexpensive compared to the west side of the mountains. I suggest either skipping this brewery and enjoying tasty Roslyn craft beers at The Brick Tavern or fill a growler to go and enjoy at home. read more

Came here after doing a distillery tasting near by and it was a nice change of pace. It was sunny outside so we were able to sit and enjoy the sun. Maybe i'm used to Seattle prices but my friend and I split the beer flight and it was only $6 for 5 large tasting!! WOW. I really liked the red lager, belgian ale and the Roslyn. I'd say the Boomtown and Brookside taste like any basic beer. Would recommend making a pit stop here. Super casual and the person who took our order was nice. read more

Great beer and cute space. We entered Roslyn Brewing through the patio walk-up window. The weather wasn't great when I visited, so we opted to sit inside instead. There is only a handful of seats at the bar top, on either side of the room. They have about 4-5 local beers on tap and I opted for the Red Ale, which I loved! They have a beer for every kind of beer drinker, and at $4 a pint, it's a great spot for a cold one! During our trip and tour of breweries we did the best quality breweries seemed to be in Roslyn. We went to two already, one in Ellensburg and one in Kittitas and had a tepid opinion towards the beer at those two breweries. I already had two IPA's and I thought as we got into the cooler environment of the mountains it was time for something a little bit darker. At this brewery I got their main flagship beer, the Dark Roslyn Lager. The flavor was nice and complex and was so very smooth. Steve got the Pale Brookside Lager which was also very good. Roslyn is a cute little town to hang out in. They have two breweries both very close to each other and several pretty good restaurants to eat at which is nice. Yes, they only have 3 beers on tap here (2 regulars and one "special") but they are pretty good for out in the middle of nowhere. My friends and I stopped in after a weekend of camping at Lake Easton State Park and to cross off another brewing from our WABL List. The inside taproom is very small but that's why their outdoor space is perfect for a hot sunny day (and enjoying a beer or 2). Great little place! Glad we stopped here on our way home from camping. We ordered the sampler (about 6 beers) and really enjoyed the Roslyn Dark Lager the best. The others were all pretty good & especially refreshing on a hot day. I think it was $8 for the sampler. The tap room inside is lovely with room for a few people on the bar but the dog friendly back patio was the best! There were about 6 tables set up (some in sun, some covered, some in shade) and some great music playing. Lovely little area - can't wait to come back! Also, who knew that downtown Roslyn was so cute? I loved the "old town" vibe. PS - There is no food but they have the menu for a local pizza place. read more

Great brewery! My husband and I decided to kill time on Memorial Day to try and wait out traffic and found this brewery (how did we not notice it before?). We've heard of their beer before, but never stopped in. Anyhow, I love that they have many different size options for tasting. This could be a normal thing in breweries, I have no idea. But I did get to try a 4 oz. taster of their Roslyn dark lager. I enjoyed it. Wasn't too bitter and went down smooth. My husband had their Brookside Lager, which I also enjoyed. It was nice and light. He also had the IPL, which I wasn't in love with. But their Root Beer tho... *swoon* Sweet goodness. The bartendress was really nice. It was fairly quiet for a nice, sunny afternoon. It wasn't quite warm enough to sit on the patio, but it looked relaxing out there. It was pretty laid back inside. A small, intimate space. This place brews two beers and two beers only but hot damn, they are good stuff! They have the Brookside and the Roslyn (which is a darker beer that doesn't taste heavy). Having enjoyed the local brews a couple of times while in and around Roslyn and Cle Elum we walked by hoping to check out the Brewing Company and perhaps take a growler back to Suncadia. They are only open Friday-Saturday and Sunday but they have a phone number posted for take out orders during the week. We didn't even have to call the numbers as the brew master was inside slaving away and opened up the door for us. This place is just a small taproom (no food), but super quaint and they have a fenced in area with some picnic tables for a nice cold brew after a hot day of mountain biking or hiking. The kegs were disconnected so no growlers for us but he offered to sell us some bottles so we got 2 of each kind. All their bottles are 650ml. So if you are in town on a weekend stop in. Otherwise order some Roslyn beer at the Roslyn Cafe or down the street at the Brick. Prost! read more

Came in here one sunny winter afternoon since it was a brewery and I was driving through the mountains. I was unaware of their odd hours, but somehow lucked out on getting there when they were actually open. The taproom is very small, but kind of old looking and cool. The beer selection consists of only two german style lagers. I got tasters of each, and wasn't blown away, but they certainly didn't suck either. After the tastes, I ordered their root beer. Speaking of something not sucking, daaaaaaang was this stuff good. Like most breweries that make a root beer, they make a damn fine one. It would be nice if they offered some variety of german ale (to stick with their current style theme), or even a Kolsch to give one more option that isn't a lager. The whole experience is pretty middle of the road, but all in all, the place is worth stopping by. It especially makes the quaint little town of Roslyn even more worth driving through when you're headed over I-90 through the pass. It's a ways off the freeway, but worth it. read more

Roslyn Brewing is a tiny little brewery in a tiny little mountain town about two hours east of Seattle on the dry side of the Cascades. It seems to be a hot spot for vacationers and campers during the summer months with very few people actually living there. The tasting room features about 10 stools around a long bar, and that's about it. There is a big television directly above one arm of the chairs, so it is not visible to half the room. But it's a brewery first. The tasting room is obviously an afterthought. There is no food there, but they do offer a menu from the restaurant next door and a paper plate full of pretzels. Roslyn makes two beers at the moment: a thick and malty lager (or is it a pale?) as well as a dark lager. I bet both stick to the German Purity Laws. The taste is clean and fresh. There is obviously a lot of care and thought as to the ingredients. I bet there aren't more than one or two varieties of both malts and hops used in either beer. Both are very drinkable and very enjoyable. I can't wait to see what they come out with next. Speaking of, the owner who was bartender says they are currently working on a few more styles and should be releasing them in the coming months. Can't wait to try them! read more

This place is a cute little hole in the wall brewery with decent beers. From the outside it looks like it would be bigger, or with more variety. However, how cool is it that there is a little brewery in the cute town of Roslyn? The bartender the served us our pints was very nice and talkative also. They also offered growlers to go, but I can't remember if you had to bring your own in or if they sold it. It would be cool if they could expand and open a restaurant in their taproom, or have a larger variety of snacks and food available!! Not sure if it would be possible for them though, they seem like a small business. read more

Something I am noticing more and more with all the brewery reviews. The overwhelming majority of reviewers will say "this is the BEST brewery I've ever been to!" and also say that about *every* brewery. Not every place can be the best. I really think most people just want alcohol, no matter how horrible it is. GF and myself came here since we were passing through town. It's a TINY brewery. The girl working there was not sociable at all. Barely spoke. I've always felt the bartender should be talkative with customers. Nope. No greeting coming in, after our order, nothing. Just stared off. New customer comes in, same results, takes their order, end of conversation. Beer left much to be desired. Selection is tiny. I think it was 5 taps. We sampled almost everything they had. I was not impressed at all. Most had little or no flavor, the Belgian didn't taste anything like a true Belgian beer, all of it was pretty bland. The GF, who is much more forgiving with beer than I am, only found one she liked. This isn't the worst brewery I've been to. Decor is decent, prices are average, but the selection is bad, and the quality just is not there. read more

I've always loved their true lager beers which makes them stand out against other Washington brewers who just focus on ales. The tap room is cozy and worth a visit when you are in Roslyn. They had 4 beers on tap the last time I stopped in, the time before that they only had 2 so it was an improvement. Roslyn is a nice town to visit and if you visit you have to stop in here for a beer. They don't serve any food, you might get some popcorn or something, but no meals, so if you are hungry you'll need to go elsewhere or maybe bring something in with you. The bar area is small, but if it's nice outside you can sit in their outside area and enjoy your beer(s). It's worth the stop if you are in the area and if you are a WABL member, it's worth a stamp in the passport! read more
