The selection was limited. Service was good. The lady was very nice and attentive. They have piñatas and different assortment of gift bags.

I fulfilled my part by posting a video and tagging the store in my social media story featuring the items. Last year, I had an uncomfortable experience when an older employee informed me that I did not have a discount on file. Although I had screenshots confirming that Vanessa (the marketing manager) from Bakers Express had approved the discount, the employee continued to deny it and followed me outside to my car to insist that I was mistaken. This interaction felt unnecessarily confrontational and could have been handled more professionally. Despite this, I continued to shop here because it is convenient for last-minute supplies, although many items are priced higher than other suppliers. Most recently, I returned to stock up for Valentine's day and to redeem my 410 loyalty points for a 1lb bag of cacao melts. The same employee assisted me at checkout. When I asked about redeeming my points, she responded in Spanish but repeatedly said "huh" and acted as though she did not understand me when she had clearly spoken to me in English the day she followed me out to my car. At checkout, she made a visible face and appeared impatient while I was trying to clarify the redemption process. I then spoke to her in Spanish to avoid further confusion. She said she would redeem the points and told me to grab the chocolate, but when I returned, she stated they did not have it in stock. This could have been communicated before sending me back to the aisle. I want to emphasize that my experiences with other staff members have consistently been positive and professional. However, my interactions with this particular employee over the past few visits have felt unpleasant and unnecessarily dismissive. I hope management takes this feedback seriously, as customer service consistency and professionalism are very important to loyal customers.

Staff wasn't really willing to help. They kind of want you to find everything on your ownread more

I just wish I had taken a picture of the ice cream sandwich I got but I ate it too fast. It was a triple milk ice cream with chocolate cookie sandwich. It was delicious! My friend got a waffle cone with salted chocolate (don't worry, it wasn't salty at all-very good chocolate flavor) and orange blossom ice cream (it had a pleasant flavor but I would probably not order it again). Overall: great experience, great service and high quality ice cream.

The unfortunate part is that the ice cream really isn't that good, and the portions are small for what you pay.  What really turned me off, though, was the lack of common sense from the staff. If you've been here, you know they have a display case with slices of cake and pie. Normally you look through the case and point to the piece you want. That's exactly what I did. There were about ten pieces of cake in the case, and I picked one that had the perfect icing-to-cake ratio. The employee asked what I wanted, and when I pointed to the slice she told me, "You can only pick from these two," while holding up two other pieces. Apparently those were the older slices that they were trying to get rid of. They were clearly smaller and, judging by how they were being pushed, probably not the freshest either. Since I was basically being forced to buy something I didn't want, I said I didn't want anything. She just said "okay" and moved on to help the rest of my family. At that point I told my family we were leaving and heading to Bloomfield Creamery in Altadena instead. The employee had every opportunity to use a little common sense and simply give me the slice I asked for. I work hard for my money, and if I'm paying premium prices, I expect to choose what I'm buying. Instead, they lost Madre family of customers for good.

Oh and their chips from Asia can't be beat. Unique flavors my 96 year old mom loves! Without a doubt you must buy the green onion pancakes by geemate. They are better than restaurant quality.
