Point: DON'T GO TO THIS DENTIST Dr. Roshe of Roshe Dental. I was so impressed with the customer service, up to date technology, and Dr. Roshe, I couldn't believe my luck. Like many grown adults in my age group, I was traumatized by the dentist office as a child. Myself, My Husband and My Stepdaughter all sang Roshe Dental Groups praises. I even referred a co-worker to them. Roshe Dental did an amazing job with dental implants for My Husband. They allowed us a payment plan. That was 2018. The the Pandemic happened and the world stopped. Then the world re-opened in 2021. Roshe Dental Group was great, until it wasn't !!! The staff started acting weird. Unprofessional. The Ultimate Point: My advice, get your specialty dental work done by a real specialist. Here's What Happened: I hate to do this, but I feel the need to share. I went to Dr. Roshe for dental work about 2 years ago (based on all of the good reviews). Most of the work was done just fine and I was satisfied at first, but then he recommended a root canal on one of my teeth. Long story short, he performed the root canal, but I kept telling him that something didn't feel right. I went back to him three times to get him to look at it, telling him each time that there was a tingling or some kind of irritation - something wasn't right! All he would do is grind down my tooth - like literally shave it down and have me bite down on that black paper to see if my teeth were touching. I did not feel that was solving the problem and I continued to feel something inside my tooth. I was told that it's normal and that sometimes this happens, and sometimes that happens. What also irked me about his solution is that I had had a root canal before, years ago, and that crown is still solid to this day, and when I pass my tongue over it, it feels like a normal tooth, has the groves like a normal tooth. Dr. Roshe's did not. It was flat, like flat flat. Like, what you'd experience with a temporary crown. And he just kept grinding it down because apparently the x-rays did not show anything. Anyway... we moved and I've recently seen an Endodontist who found additional decay at the tip of the root, which was not cleaned and sealed properly. I've known this entire time that something was not right and it felt good to validate that I wasn't crazy. I have had to pay (out of pocket, about $1,200) mind you for an Endodontist to go in and do the job right, and to get a new crown. BUT, I no longer feel that weird tingling feeling, or like something foreign has invaded my mouth. I am happy for this to be over and officially fixed. Someone asked me if it was just the crown, but it wasn't. That tingling feeling that was deep inside that I've felt all this time is finally gone. That tooth no longer stands out in my mouth (you know how you can just feel something and then you're always rubbing it with your tongue). That feeling is gone and the tooth is no longer a point of irritation - it's just normal. Sorry - I'm trying to explain it. Anyway - my advice, get your specialty dental work done by a real specialist. I gave 2 stars because the staff is nice, except for the woman who handles the billing - she never really smiles - FYI. And regarding the root canal, it could have been that he's just not an Endodontist and therefore couldn't spot what my new one did in a few seconds. One thing I always hated: The waiting area smells unpleasant. I never said anything because I felt bad. There is a bathroom in the front and the door is always open, so that might be why. They try to cover it up with scents, but you still smell it. read more

It's hard to review a dental office since it's never fun going to the dentist. However, this place is pretty good and here's why: 1. Communication- The office communicates very clearly via text message and phone calls when your appointment is. 2. The dentist, Dr. Roshe was very efficient and to the point. He was also very straight forward and let me know that I had a cavity that was pretty close to the root and even though he tried his best, I might need a root canal later on. I think that was very professional of him to let me know since it is unpleasant news and it's something that could happen 1 year or 5 years down the road. 3. They are not pushy at all about selling me procedures that are not covered by my insurance. The dental hygienist asked if I wanted my cleaning with the antibiotic prophylaxis and it would cost extra, I told her "No thanks" and she said ok and that was it. My previous dentist I went to insisted it was a necessity and wouldn't take no for an answer. 4. They are very upfront about the cost of everything and what my insurance covered and didn't cover. I would feel comfortable recommending this place to my friends, especially since with DMO insurance, it was such a pain to find a good primary dentist that accepts the insurance. read more

Located in a tenement building on Bainbridge Avenue, you wouldn't expect this dentist office to be anything spectacular. However, when you get inside , you're greeted by friendly and professional staff. The facility was clean and welcoming. I was early for my appointment, but they were able to see me immediately. I got my xrays taken and the Dentist explained, in great detail, everything that I had to get done. My insurance sucks so I have to pay out of pocket for majority of the bill. Dentist explained my several options for payment b/c he understood my financial concern. To make a long story short, I loved the service I received. Knowledgeable Dentist, friendly and warm staff. I love Dr.Roshe and his staff!!! Dr.Roshe is very professional and does phenomenal work. I've been going there for a little less than a year and he has fixed SOO MANY issues with my teeth that other dentists dismissed. Finally my root canal tooth is no longer visible to myself and the world. I also appericate the later hours after 5pm and flexible schedule. I have had many unpleasant dentist visits . I can say that I have been here twice and both visits went well . I didn't have a long wait time . The office is clean and up to date . The staff is friendly . I tend to get anxious .... I don't like going to the dentist BUT Dr Roshe is extremely personable , professional and informative . He has a great touch my procedure was painless. I have found a new dentist and definitely recommend . They have after work hours too . I have to make a review about Dr. Roshe and the whole staff. YOU ARE AMAZING! GREAT TEAM! I found hope when no other Dr. Would actually help me, they were just interested in draining my insurance. I had braces for a little over 5 years at another Dentist office, until I got tired of them moving everything around and not addressing the real large gaps and baby teeth I had. I found Dr. Roshe and in my first consultation he actually listened and acted on my concerns. I had never had that with any other dentist, so on that very first day he made it happen to help me. Went for promotional x-rays, cleaning and consultation. Before booking appt. I was assured that I would receive a copy of the x-rays. Again, I was assured of same when confirming appt. Once in the chair I asked the dentist about the x-rays, his answer was that every dentist does them his own way and he was referring me to another dentist. Oddly, he did continue to tell me how he would proceed with my dental work even though he gave me another dentist's number. During the consultation,told me that I'd need to redo a root canal tooth or get an implant. I went to NYU two days later and was told that there was no problem with that tooth. He said that was the source of the pain I was experiencing. NYU treated the tooth next to the one Dr. Roshe was ready to have pulled and replaced with an implant. The cleaning. Ready to send me on my way, I asked about the cleaning that was part of the agreement. Since the cleaning, my teeth have turned a disgusting shade of yellow and brown between the teeth. All of a sudden my teeth and crowns turn color? Can't help but wonder if the next recommendation would be a whitening treatment. And... the plaque was only partially removed I made decision to see Dr. Roshe based on the positive reviews. When I told Dr. Roshe that he got defensive. That was before he even looked in my mouth. I do not recommend this dentist. I have endured pain and infections since completing procedures. I have taken whatever pills I have available to alleviate the pain, and avoid contacting this practice. I am extremely disappointed. I had clues: the anesthesia was weak - I felt almost all the drilling, the instruments were cold, and I said I was sensitive. I was told I take the anesthesia like water; a clue I needed more but dentist did not oblige me. I thought I was being careful choosing the right dentist and willing to pay out of pocket, and I read the reviews. I do not want to go back to this office. I believe I will have to pay out of pocket again to have the work redone. After paying more than $8000 out of pocket, I was not even afforded a new tooth brush. No recommendation. I hate going to the dentist but this visit has changed my opinion entirely. My appointment today was great even though I had not been to the dentist in over two years. The staff was very nice and the doctor is beyond amazing. He put me at ease immediately with some chit chat before getting into the nitty gritty of what he was recommending as treatment. He explained everything in detail and asked if I had any questions - and actually answered the few that I had. I have to admit that they wee very nice. What I didn't like was that it was more a "sale" than anything else. Lots of promotions while getting care. I also didn't like the curtain that separated the rooms( due to privacy issues). The dentist that evaluated me was very impersonal. FOLLOW-UP REVIEW. PLEASE READ BEFORE MAKING AN APPOINTMENT!!!! I HAVE DOCUMENTATION AND RECEIPTS TO BACK UP ALL CLAIMS MADE IN THIS REVIEW: I received a claim from my insurance detailing the cost and coverage of all procedures that were performed. Per the claims document, my teeth cleaning and procedure were covered 100%. I found that interesting, being that on the date of service, I had paid OUT OF POCKET for BOTH. It was also interesting to see on my claims document that Roshe Dental had billed for a porcelain crown fused to a metal base, especially considering that my crown was a PORCELAIN/CERAMIC equivalent without any metal attached. I called Roshe Dental and spoke to (M*****). She told me: "The reason why you paid out of pocket was because your insurance was out of network with us from the months of July-September". I ask M****, "Sooo, does that mean from the months of July-September, your office was not getting paid by ANYONE who had my insurance". M**** responds with, "Yes." THE LIES, THE LIES, THE LIES. And keep in mind, my dental insurance is one of the LARGEST IN THE NORTHEAST. I called my dental insurance and they confirmed that Roshe Dental has been IN NETWORK from the months of July-September. They also confirmed that I should not have paid out of pocket for the cleaning nor the procedure. They also told me that my out of pocket expenses should be $336, being that the dental office had received at $1300 check from the insurance company. Now guess how much my out of pocket expenses for all procedures were calculated to be by Roshe Dental......$1000!!!!!!! An hour ago, I did a 3-way conference call with my dental insurance and M**** from Roshe dental where I proceeded to go line-by-line over the claims document, confirming that I overpaid. A new claim will have to be submitted to my insurance company. So far, they have taken almost $440 from me....that is $100 more than what the insurance stated I would have to pay out of pocket!!!! I was also given some nonesense story that "Oh, we didn't know that a porcelain/ceramic code exists". What!?!/!?!?!? Roshe is in his 50s and has another dental office in Westchester NY. He has been in practice for DECADES and you are telling me he doesn't know how to instruct his employees how to bill for the correct procedure??? THIS IS INSURANCE FRAUD, PERIOD!!!!!! Oh and my crown fell out yesterday while eating gnocchi and it chipped one of my other teeth so now I need emergency dental work. Obviously, not from this dentist. Honestly the best dental office I have been in since my five years of living in New York City. The staff is extremely friendly the dentist are extremely professional, precise, and caring. I felt like I was in excellent hands the whole entire time and the office especially make sure that your insurance either covers it or they get you the best deals so you don't have to pay out the wahzoo for everything.
