I went in because of a cracked tooth. the nurse performed a full mouth X Ray, even though I did not request one. She said it was procedure. Fine. Then when the doctor came in, he told me that in that X ray he saw there were other cavities but he refused to give me any more details because I did not request a comprehensive exam. Then what was the point of the full mouth X Ray if you're not going to give me the results of it? Finally, we come back around to the cracked teeth I actually came in for, he told me it would cost over eight hundred dollars for three fillings. I refused treatment and went to another dentist. This other dentist not only gave me the full results of my X Ray and a proper treatment plan, which was more in depth and more likely to actually resolve my issues than just the fillings Smiling Dentist were going to give me, but it was significantly cheaper. Where Smiling Dentist was going to charge me nearly a thousand dollars for three fillings, the other dentist charged six hundred dollars for seven fillings. Overall, a terrible experience and I will not be revisiting ever again.

I went to Yonkers Avenue Dental. i had used them before (see his positive review of two years ago. Boy, have things changed! A young female dentist proceeded to cement the cap back on with minimal preparation. She did not hesitate to tell me that this was her last day on the job since she was moving to Puerto Rico (this should have been a clue). Four days later, while brushing my teeth, the cap fell off in the sink. I called to make another appointment, explaining the situation. They were very unsympathetic and I had to wait 4 days for an appointment. While in the waiting room, I spoke to the office manager to ensure that I would not be rebilled. She very agressvely told me that the work is NOT GUARANTEED, I would be rebilled and there were no other options. My options were limited, so I waited and saw a different dentist. He informed me that he was a partner in the practice. Again, with very little preparation, he reattached the tooth. He confirmed that the work is NOT GUARANTEED and was I forced to pay a second fee. I was shocked, when 5 days later, again while brushing my teeth, the cap fell out again. I have since returned to Florida. My regular dentist who did not know the identity of who I saw in Yonkers was very negative on the work that was performed. He prepared the same cap and the abutment properly, which was very different and much more thorough than what they did in Yonkers Dental, and reattached the cap.He said they never even cleaned the old cement out of the cap. It has been several weeks and the cap is still firmly attached. Needless to say, I will NEVER, NOT EVER be returning to Yonkers Avenue Dental.

After I complained and said I would never return, I received a poorly formatted termination letter in the mail. Based on the timing and content of that letter, it honestly felt like the office was trying to cover itself rather than address my concerns. Don't bother contacting corporate when they respond to your review--they offer no real help and you will never hear back regarding action being taken. Instead, you'll receive a termination letter. Based on my experience, I believe this establishment is a scam and seems more focused on making money than providing appropriate care. I strongly recommend getting a second opinion and avoiding this office at all costs.

In my time going there, I had to have a tooth pulled, I was told I could no longer get regular cleanings only deep cleanings because my gums were so bad but when they submitted X-rays to my insurance company for approval in paying for a deep cleaning it was denied because my gums actually didn't need it. They bill you for things your insurance company already paid for and when you call back to ask for a refund they pass your call from person to person. It wasn't until I had my insurance company filed a claim that they felt the need to acknowledge their error. I 100% feel the only reason people go here is because dental expenses can be a lot but I learned from experience leaving this dental office has been the best thing I have done for not only my teeth but for my happiness. But trying to get my own dental records back to give to my new dental office was also a draining process over the phone. I had to physically show up at the office to ask for my paperwork because they didn't take me serious over the phone. Now that I left I feel more confident with my new dentist and even though they don't take my insurance and I have to pay out of pocket, I'm getting what I pay for which is professionalism and honesty about my teeth at my dentist which is never what I felt here.

My teeth have never looked better, I paid a very reasonable price for services, and my treatment was finished within the timeline he estimated at our first consultation. Braces aren't ever going to be sexy and fun, especially for grown-ups, but Dr. H and his staff did everything they could to minimize the pain and hassle of having them.
