I found Dr. John Castanaro after getting new dental…read moreinsurance (I have Guardian) and wanting to ditch my old dental office, which did not make you feel welcome and cleanings were rushed. Dr. Castanaro's office was a complete-180 compared to my old dentist. He is very attentive every time I come for a cleaning and I am always seen as soon as I arrive. He uses the best and latest dental technology and a perk is that he is also a cool guy! His dental assistants also help him and are very nice and do the work right. Maureen & Stephanie at the front desk are gems and will always work with you to schedule an appointment at a time that works best for you and help in understanding insurance billing. They rock and are a pleasure to speak with. If you are looking for a new dental office, either for a preventative visit or for major dental care, look no further, THIS IS THE OFFICE YOU ARE LOOKING FOR!

No cavities and no work needed. I had cracked a tooth prior which I knew about but didn't think it was serious. Well apparently it was and caused a small cavity. Dr Castanaro fixed my tooth up....despite me acting like a huge baby when he needed to numb me. He worked quickly and was gentle. Was funny and kept me entertained while he worked. I'd definitely recommend him.

Been coming here for a few years now and this review is overdue…read more It started out a little bumpy, with staff changes, insurance issues, and such - but the wait was worth it as I have been quite satisfied with the service and everyone. I wasn't the best as a kid in taking care of my teeth, so I was always at the dentist - different ones over the years, but none in which I felt as comfortable as I do here. Of course, my past teeth crimes have come back to haunt me now, so undoing the damage has been my goal for a little while. Dr. Rajani is excellent and knowledgeable. As mentioned, I've been to several dentists over my lifespan and I can say that Dr. Rajani is great at what he does. From talking with the patients, explaining procedures, to the work itself. But I can't single out only Dr. Rajani only - Dr. Park is also excellent. Two great dentists in the same place, can't get any better. Staff has been welcoming, friendly, accommodating, and as someone who works in healthcare myself, it's a big difference than other medical (dental or not) offices I've been to. I'm a big stickler for pointing out rudeness, but none of that is here. They are great. The equipment is pretty state of the art and everything is clean. The TV monitors play interesting and informative videos while you're in the chair. Parking is street - metered if you park on Yonkers Avenue. All in all, a highly recommended dental office. I will of course be returning to continue my work and/or my yearly's after that.

This review is being submitted by my husband John DeSimone…read more Several weeks ago, a cap fell off of one of my front top teeth. As i was in Yonkers and my primary dentist is in Florida. I went to Yonkers Avenue Dental. i had used them before (see his positive review of two years ago. Boy, have things changed! A young female dentist proceeded to cement the cap back on with minimal preparation. She did not hesitate to tell me that this was her last day on the job since she was moving to Puerto Rico (this should have been a clue). Four days later, while brushing my teeth, the cap fell off in the sink. I called to make another appointment, explaining the situation. They were very unsympathetic and I had to wait 4 days for an appointment. While in the waiting room, I spoke to the office manager to ensure that I would not be rebilled. She very agressvely told me that the work is NOT GUARANTEED, I would be rebilled and there were no other options. My options were limited, so I waited and saw a different dentist. He informed me that he was a partner in the practice. Again, with very little preparation, he reattached the tooth. He confirmed that the work is NOT GUARANTEED and was I forced to pay a second fee. I was shocked, when 5 days later, again while brushing my teeth, the cap fell out again. I have since returned to Florida. My regular dentist who did not know the identity of who I saw in Yonkers was very negative on the work that was performed. He prepared the same cap and the abutment properly, which was very different and much more thorough than what they did in Yonkers Dental, and reattached the cap.He said they never even cleaned the old cement out of the cap. It has been several weeks and the cap is still firmly attached. Needless to say, I will NEVER, NOT EVER be returning to Yonkers Avenue Dental.

Upon arrival for my appointment, it did not take long to be called in which I totally appreciate. Kristy, the tech, was so pleasant taking my x-rays. Lucinda, the hygienist, provided helpful education, and did a thorough cleaning. Last to be seen by Dr. Schraner was the cherry on top, she was knowledgeable, nice, and broke down what my options were to proceed. With this experience, I'm considering changing my Dentist because this experience knocked my socks off!

It has now been 5 months, and I am still experiencing pain in the original tooth I initially came in for. Meanwhile, my insurance has been exhausted on procedures that I did not need, and I am now left paying out of pocket for treatments that was not necessary. This situation is extremely frustrating and disappointing. The staff working there are nice, but I feel like I got scammed. I am extremely disappointed with my experience, and the situation has only worsened after I shared my honest review. Since posting my feedback, I have been receiving excessive and persistent phone calls--up to 15 times a day pressuring me to remove my review. This behavior feels inappropriate, unprofessional, and harassing. In addition to the original issue where I came in for a specific painful tooth but received treatment on other teeth that I did not need I am now also being blamed for the treatment decisions that were made and recommended by the provider. This is unacceptable. Patients rely on dental professionals to diagnose and recommend appropriate care. Shifting responsibility onto the patient after the fact, especially when the outcome has been ongoing pain and financial burden, is deeply concerning. At this point, I am not only dissatisfied with the treatment itself but also with how this situation is being handled. I expect respectful communication not pressure, blame, or repeated unwanted calls. I am documenting this behavior and will take further steps if necessary

He came in introduced himself explained the procedure very polite, very professional. I have a phobia so I begin explaining how much I fear dentists, that my roots are deep, that he will need to give me a pill prior to the needles because my pain threshold is non-existent. And, would he be open to using gas? He replies calmly "no, local anesthesia will work fine." I was given medication in various places around the tooth he stepped out and returned to enable the medication to take effect. He came back and when I thought he was determining the best angle to approach the extraction, he immediately removed the tooth! He was in my mouth with an instrument, and I was waiting for the pain to begin, the pulling, the crunching. I mean it was a wisdom tooth after all! He expertly removed my tooth in seconds. I didn't have time to get scared. I was lulled into a sense of security that completely took away my fear! Or, I was in the hands of a skilled surgeon. You don't often get your teeth extracted but if you must, you want to see Dr. Adam Arnodt at Westchester Smile Design in Yonkers 914-476-3838. His assistant and the entire staff are professional, efficient, courteous and care about their patients.

After a negative experience with a different office I found Dr. Suh and his team. From my first experience I knew I had found my dentist, here's why. 1. Clean, modern office. 2. Straightforward billing- at the start of your appointment you're told what to expect as far as billing goes (no surprise bills in the mail!) 3. It doesn't feel like Dr. Suh and his team are selling you anything- after your cleaning, he comes in, does a thorough check, asks you questions if something looks off and will tell you if it's something that needs treatment right away or not. He will explain, answer questions and show you on the monitor in the exam room what you need to know. HUGE brownie points for that. As a new patient they were thorough in asking how comfortable I am with dentist visits- I'm an oddball who actually enjoys dentist appointments- rest assured they will make sure you're as comfortable as possible. The detail that goes in to each visit is much appreciated by this over thinker. You get glasses to protect your eyes from any flying bits during your appointment. There's a small monitor if there's a program you want to catch up on. During the recent pandemic, machines to keep air particles to a minimum (something like that) were brought in to give everyone peace of mind. I can't say enough good things about this Dr. Suh and his team and recommend anyone who asks me for a good dentist in lower Westchester.

When scheduling, I made it very clear that I would need nitrous due to dental anxiety. After arriving, I waited over an hour past my appointment time, only to finally be told by the receptionist--without any empathy--that I couldn't have nitrous because they had "used the last of the oxygen." This is not a small oversight. For patients with anxiety, this kind of preparation and communication is essential. To wait that long, after traveling and arranging childcare for a newborn, only to be dismissed so casually is incredibly frustrating and unprofessional. If you experience dental anxiety and rely on accommodations like nitrous, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere. This office does not seem equipped to handle those needs with the care or consideration they require.
