Located in a home, the service is quick and attentive. I was not oversold for a service I thought I needed. The quote/price came in lower than my friends were offered at other alteration stores -- so great value for the hem service provided on my bridesmaid dress. read more

Marieam helped me rework my vintage wedding dress for my reception second look and I could not have been more pleased with her work. She was professional, responded quickly, and her work was beautifully done. I brought her a dress from the late 70s with a full circle skirt, 3 layers of tulle, and an under puff. She took out the under bit, a full layer of tulle, and shortened the silk underskirt into the perfect mini. She also steamed and fixed a satin bow on the back. I was really impressed with her work and have ready recommended to several friends. read more

The pictures speak for themselves. My dress was a trash bag, and she turned it into a beautiful glove. I gave her a huge challenge by altering the dress two sizes down, without changing the design. She rose to the occasion and then some. Already went back for two dress alterations and 4 pants alterations for my husband. read more

Maryam provided me with the best, most efficient tailoring services and with the most professional and courteous customer service experience I purchased a beautiful gown to wear for my upcoming 70th birthday celebration but it was too long. To make it even more complicated the dress had so many layers of lace and tulle. Maryam knows what she's doing and I entrusted all the alterations to her. When I picked up my gown today it felt like it was custom made and fitted for me! The quality of her work speaks volumes considering all the intricate adjustments that had to be made! This is actually the second gown she has made alterations for me wherein she had to make it smaller. I am profoundly in awe and so grateful! She was so pleasant to collaborate with read more

What can I say?! She worked her MAGIC!! After losing about 18 pounds, my dress fit me pretty big but she was able to fix my dress and tailor it to my body. Everything came out perfect and looked so good. I had a very long tail, once bustled, I looked like a princess. Thank you so much for helping me with my dress and your attention to detail. So great to work with! I ordered a wedding dress that was roughly 2/3 sizes large in most areas to accommodate my hips. I was a little worried that the detailing would end up needing to be altered in order to preserve the original form/multiple layers of the dress, but it turned out beautifully. She also added a bustle that buttoned up in such a functional and aesthetic way that really completed the dress rather than deter from it. Highly recommend! read more

Very happy with the service that I received from Rose's Alteration. She responded to me very quickly and quoted me a very resonable price. I sent the request through yelp on the weekend was able to get an appt with her on Monday. I had a sequin dressed I wanted shortened and she executed it perfectly! It was ready a day before she initially said and I couldn't be more pleased. Her location is easy to find and there's ample amount of street parking for the most part. She is very kind and quick but effective with her work. I will definitely be coming back to her for any other alterations. read more

I couldn't recommend Miriam's services more. She altered my wedding dress, added a belt, and my bustle. She started with a consultation that was very helpful in giving me an idea of what needed to be done, what would not work, and what wasn't needed. Her estimate for the work was also hundreds of dollars less than the bridal shop estimate for alterations on my dress and her timeline was much shorter for being able to get the work done. I went for a few fittigs along the way and picked it up yesterday- it fits perfectly and looks beautiful. I'm very happy and will be continuing to use her services for future alteration needs. read more

She was very responsive and did an excellent job hemming a bridesmaids dress for me. I'm 5' 2" so the gown originally was made for someone much taller. I was on something of a time crunch so of the few quotes I received, Rose's Alterations was the absolute best value. She mentions several times in her comments and responses on this page that she works from home - so I feel it is important to note that when you are taking an appointment - to be aware that you are entering a home-based business. It does not appear as a typical storefront. I felt perfectly safe - but it would be wise, as is anywhere, to be sure someone is aware of your whereabouts. I will happily be a repeat customer when the need arises. read more

If you don't know where to get your wedding dress altered, please relieve yourself of the stress & stop by here! I was really skeptical about taking my wedding dress just anywhere because I needed it to be altered... A LOT. She did a phenomenal job because she was able to alter my size 14 wedding dress down to like a size 6. (Since I am curvy in some areas, I had to buy a bigger dress & get it altered). She also hemmed the bottom very well. I had a few fittings until it was to my liking, which I greatly appreciated. I also had a quick turnaround time of only 2 weeks before my wedding! I would highly recommend! Great service & great work!! read more

I felt like I scrolled through so many alteration places with high ratings and many reviews. Rose Alterations had fewer reviews but all were consistent so I took a risk with my wedding dress with her. Communication was direct, clear and very prompt. She was very flexible when I forgot to bring my shoes (oops) with me by saying she could start working on the other parts of my dress until I could bring my shoes in to shorten the dress. I took in the straps, the skirt to hug my legs, hemmed the bottom keeping the back longer to create a "train", added three clear button bustles. In the photos, the Bottom hem I forgot to press but it could've been ironed out fine. (I should have asked her to do it for me knowing that I would forget.) She's very skilled, knows fabric and has worked on many types of wedding gowns. She gave advice to leave my dress a little looser so I could sit down and I insisted to keep it tight and she did. It was a little tough to sit in (when I picked it up) just like she said it would be but I ended up losing a bit of weight right before the wedding and it turned out perfectly tight if not even a little loose. I kept losing a little weight every time I saw her so that's not on her. Be very clear with what you envision and want and she will make it happen. My dress turned out so beautiful with the fit and her stitching was clean and strong. She got everything correct in one sweep. I'm really glad I took the risk to go with her private business as she took the time and attention to make all the adjustments needed promptly and cleanly. Her prices also very reasonable. Thank you so much, Marieam. You are a gem! read more

Responded quickly and did a wonderful job altering a wedding guest dress. Thank you for making this dress fit perfectly !

If I could give 10 stars I would! She took me in for a dress alteration for an event a little more than a week and a half away. We had to remove a zipper and the first color fabric didn't really match - without hesitation she got another color and it was perfect. The cherry on top, and why I will only ever get alterations here, is that I had to bring my 15 month old for the dress pick up as I had no choice and she literally held him while I tried everything on. She went above and beyond and I'll never forget it. If you're looking for someone to perform your alterations, Rose is your girl. I promise. Thank you, Rose! read more

Good experience with booking a consultation that led booking hemming service for my wedding dress. I appreciate her honesty and professional opinion on what she was able to do and NOT able to do (she said my dress was not able to have a side slit because of the style/ draping). I had full trust in her hemming the dress - she worked quick and had reasonable pricing. The only reason it is not a 5 star review is because i wish she offered more options/ ideas to help alter my dress more. I let her know I might keep looking around to see other seamstresses could offer more options and she made it clear that she would not be able to fix anything / make changes if another seamstress does anything to the dress. Again, I appreciate the honesty and think the consultation was beneficial. I did end up finding another person who was able to add a slit , offer more options and ideas- so no complaints here. I just felt limited by the services and a little discouraged to try more challenging things with my dress. read more
