Whitney was absolutely incredible!! She took a bridesmaid dress I'd worn a decade ago when I was much heavier and totally reconfigured it for a wedding guest outfit. We took the dress in a ton, cut it in half, made it a midriff exposed two piece set, and took it up from gown length to cocktail length. I had quite a complicated wedding outfit! I didn't want to wear a wedding dress and I certainly didn't want to wear a suit. Instead, I bought a really amazing jumpsuit that came all the way from France and Christina worked her magic! For about 3 months, she had me come in to see what adjustments needed to be made before my big day in September and each time I went, she was on time, professional, courteous, and most importantly, she did an AMAZING job with my French jumpsuit. The top potion of the dress was a lace and beaded corset that needed to be taken in several inches throughout the whole piece. It was not an easy request but they altered it perfectly. Everything for like a glove. They are also ridiculously nice and easy to work with. And got he alterations completed quickly as well! I am thrilled I took my dress here because the results couldn't have been better! I was a bit worried to take it anywhere to be honest because I knew it was going to be a difficult job. Christina is the best seamstress I have ever encountered! Her pricing is extremely affordable, she gives fast, quality alterations, amazing ideas and is so wonderful to work with! I found her when I needed my wedding dress altered and another seamstress quoted me $1,500. I was able to make a same day appointment with Christina and she not only made me feel comfortable to work on my wedding dress with two different laces, but ensured it would be a fraction of the price I was previously quoted. Since I found her for my wedding dress, she also saved me when the bridal shower dress I ordered came see-through and she was able to line the entire inside before my shower (flower dress pictured below). She saved me another time when the dress I ordered for my courthouse wedding was completely too big on the top and I didn't have enough time to order another dress. She was able to alter it within a few days to perfection and it was exactly what I thought I was ordering in the first place! (Courthouse dress pictured below). Lastly, and probably most specially, Christina gave me the idea to bring in my moms wedding dress and altered it so I was able to surprise my mom with it at my rehearsal dinner before my wedding! These women are AMAZING! I ordered my dress from BHLDN and when it came it was very big, the bust was huge on me. I took it to a different tailor who was rude and told me that's just the way it was and he couldn't fix it. Thankfully, after a great recommendation from a coworker, I was sent to these amazing women. They took so much time and helped me work out the fine details to make my dress perfect. Unfortunately, after two fittings our wedding was canceled twice. This company was so understanding and gave me a full refund, despite already having had two fittings. After getting a refund and walking out with my dress, I got to the parking lot and decided I had to wear my beautiful dress and decided the best thing to do is get it shortened for our last minute elopement. So, after they had literally just taken out all the pins out of the dress and refunded me, I walked right back in and asked them to re pin the dress and shorten it. They were so amazing and understanding. They helped me come up with the most amazing dress- we decided to take the tulle overlay of the dress off and make it into a detachable belt so I could still have the dress long if I decided to do an actual wedding someday, and then make the lace part of the dress short with a high low hem. They also took some of the extra lace from my dress and put it on the back of a jean jacket so I had a matching jacket to my dress. It came out so fantastic and I am forever great full to these ladies. Thank you so much! read more

FINALLY! capable alterations and tailoring!!! I brought in 3 sport coats I had recently purchased - needed sleeves shortened and the body adjusted. I have a very difficult to work with 9-10" drop between the chest and waist and the team at fit & style not only competently explained what they were doing as they marked them... but managed to finish everything on time and on par with the best tailor work I've had done in the past. Dry cleaner "alterations" give you dry cleaner "results". If you have good clothes that you plan on wearing for years - have them fit and look their best!!!! Thank you. read more

I'm not sure if this place came under new ownership, but I'm pretty sure I encountered the owner when I went to leave some pants for hemming. She was very brusque and bordered on rude. I'd never dealt with this person before when utilizing this shop. I know anyone can be having a bad day, but I noticed two other reviews that mention the same thing about how curt she is. The owner might want to evaluate and work on some of her people skills. Also, they claim that they don't have machines that can work with swimsuit fabric. I've encountered other tailors with the same attitude. The fact is, they don't want to work with swimsuit fabric. However, as a tip to anyone else out there looking for swimsuit alterations, they will work on them at Nordstrom, in fact, there's a fabulous tailor at the Cerritos Nordstrom named Vera who altered my swimsuit top for me, and I plan to start going there all the time even though it's out of my way. I had a pair of pants altered and the waist was too small to get over my hips. I brought the pants back with the request to enlarge the waist. I picked up the pants and the alteration was the reverse of what I needed. Now I cannot even get them over my hips. The alteration requested was reversed. I am soooooo happy with the work done by Christina and the rest of the crew at Fit & Style. I took my gown here about 2 months before my wedding. I went back several times and we got everything altered perfectly. The cost ended up being exactly what was originally quoted and they were very upfront as to what was needed and what the cost would be. I think I am most happy with the belt they helped me with. My grandmother had handbeaded flowers onto lace that was over 100 years old and they cut out the flowers and arranged them into a gorgeous belt. This is now a very unique and special heirloom piece for our family. They were very patient with me when I had a lot of questions and kept me up to date on the progress. I recently had my bridesmaid dress altered by the great ladies at fit & style. There was a LOT of work that needed to get done on the dress: sides taken in, cups added, bottom hem, straps...and I'm sure that still doesn't even cover it all. Within 2 visits and only about an hour total spent in the store, they were able to get all the changes made. While I'm still not wild about the dress itself, fit and style worked wonders! However, the bill for all the work was pretty steep at $162. This is the first time I've ever had to get alterations done, so I had a little sticker shock at the bill-- especially since it nearly doubled the cost of the dress in the first place. Price aside, the women that work here are friendly, incredibly fast, and care about making you look good. I'd recommend them, but probably wouldn't come back for such major alterations in the future, due to the price. I'd absolutely come back for a smaller job though. read more

They are our new tailors, period. They fixed two of my husband's new (investment) suits. The first suit came out great with just one fitting. The second had to be fixed a second time, but they didn't charge us for the second fix. And when he tried that same suit on again, it worked out great. I can't wait to see him in it ;)- Now I'm getting my clothes tailored there. Since I'm petite size most of my clothes could use alterations. I understand she was taking care of a customer but the way she reacted when I opened the door was totally rude. She asked me if I have an appointment, ( yes, you need an appointment). I said I do. Gosh, I've been coming here nearly 30 years! Back in the day, of course, I still wore suits to work. They were great not just for the standard hem job, but they actually recut trousers and jackets when needed. Even with extensive jobs like that, you couldn't tell at all. These days, I don't have occasion to visit nearly as often. However, when I need pants hemmed (even jeans!) or a jacket tailored, I still go here. Polite, efficient, very high quality. And, they stand behind their work, too. Years ago, the cuff on a pair of trousers I got back just wasn't right. They fixed it quickly and without a fuss. Hey, once in thirty years ain't bad at all! You can find faster or cheaper, sure. But, you'll never find better. Our clothes are an investment--literally and figuratively. Quality tailoring should be part of that investment. read more
