    Ashley P.

I brought my car to these guys after getting an extremely fair quote done. Dropped off my car Saturday and picked up today, Thursday. (They didn't work on the vehicle until Monday) I wasn't going through insurance because I had claimed one of the other two accidents and I would hate to be dropped because of accidents I literally had nothing to do with. Let me start by saying, this place is the real deal. Initially, I found these guys off of Yelp. They had decent reviews so I decided to give them a try. It's a tiny place, not too much parking - but clean overall. I drive a 2018 Acura TLX A-Spec and to my wallets' disadvantage, I am extremely particular about my ride. Unfortunately, I've gotten hit - two hit and runs - in the last five months. So when I walked out to my car a week ago, I was devastated to find my rear bumper has been hit, yet again. I am that person who will park in the last spot at the mall and I will come out and someone will be parked up against me. It never fails! Anyways - Rosemont Auto Body was extremely communicative. Although the car was supposed to be done Wednesday, they needed an extra day, which was no problem! When I came to pick it up, the process was quick. The car looked brand new - literally. Where I was hit AND the interior. You can tell the interior was cleaned and wiped down. I essentially got a free detail; as someone who is obsessed with her car, this is a big WIN! When I got into the car, I couldn't help but notice a small sample of touch-up paint for my car as well. I don't think I'd every attempt to touch up my car myself, but I still loved it! Another great place about RAB is that they give you a lifetime warranty on their work. I hope to have no issues with the job that they did, but if I do, I know it is protected. Knock on wood, I'm hoping to having no more incidents for the remainder of my lease. However, if I do, I will 100% be back to these guys! I will also make sure that people know of this place and check them out! Thanks again, guys!

Looks like a shiny new pumpkin!

Gerber Collision & Glass at this location has done a phenomenal job repairing my vehicle. It is a…read morelengthy review, but one worth reading. First, my car was heavily damaged by a HEAVY thunderstorm that struck most of the Chicago area back in June 2026. A tree fell on it, damaging the hood, roof and pillar. The extreme high winds sent flying debris that nicked and scratched all sorts of areas of the car's body. I filed my claim with my auto insurance. Their estimate on repairs seemed unreasonable due to the damage. The photos I submitted to my insurance company did not capture the depths of the damage. For the wonders AI (Artificial Intelligence) does, it does a poor job in assessing damage and REAL cost of parts and labor. Get an Estimator. Always. Don't trust AI for the cost auto repairs. At this shop, I was able to send my claim number and estimate from my auto insurance via email. Renee welcomed me, and walked me through the process. I'm very thankful for her patience, warmness and execution in terms of paperwork and helping me by contacting Enterprise to schedule a ride to the premises and obtain a rental vehicle. Throughout the week, Renee called me to let me know they were waiting for my insurance company to approve Gerber's estimate. The auto insurance company took a week or so to approve the new estimate from Gerber Collision Repair. It seemed like the insurance companies were backed up with claims during that time due to the sudden surge of vehicles damaged due to the extreme weather-related damage. If you're from Chicagoland you would easily recall this thunderstorm in June. I've to commend Luis (Estimator) for doing a VERY thorough job in calculating the real cost of repairs to my vehicle. The estimate was more reasonable than what my insurance company originally offered. He had an eye for the extent of the damage caused by Mother Nature. Once my auto insurance company approved Gerber's estimate, they got to work. Please always get an actual Estimator (a real life person) to look through your vehicle's damage as their knowledge and experience is more valuable than AI. Thank you Luis for having my vehicle's (and mine) best interest. It did take some time for my vehicle to get repaired. My insurance company could only cover a certain amount of days for the rental vehicle. I appreciated Gerber Collision Repair in covering the cost of the few extra days of the rental vehicle while my car was being finalized. This gesture meant so much to me. They took care of me. The hazardous smoke from the wildfires from Canada that came through may have delayed repairs. I don't know how safe it was to work in a repair shop during the poor/hazardous air quality. I know ventilation is a priority in a repair shop. I hope the safety of the staff at Gerber was prioritized. These were factors beyond Gerber's control. Again, be flexible. When I went to pick up my vehicle, Nick greeted me. He was very warm and made eye contact. He answered my questions about a deductible, walked me through the paperwork, made a couple of phone calls to get answers to my questions. Nick made sure to get Enterprise the rental vehicle back. A very personable and knowledgeable gentleman. He shook my hand at the end. This gesture and service etiquette I thought had been lost. Great job Nick! When I stepped outside to inspect my vehicle, Fredy the Technician who worked on the body and repairs of my vehicle walked me around to inspect it. My vehicle looked beautiful! It had not looked like that in years! The technician appeared to be very proud of his work- and so was I. The paint job was outstanding too! He gave me advice in maintaining my car's paint so it would continue to look pristine. Always listen to the experts! Huge shout out to Fredy! Overall, I highly recommend this shop. I'm very pleased with the staff in how personable they are. Great work Gerber Collision & Repair in Des Plaines Illinois! Love the staff here! -Alonso S.

I normally go to other places when I don't have the tools, time, and or knowledge needed for some things. I will go over my first experience with this shop and why my wife and I go here when needed. I had an issue with an oil pressure sensor leak. I could see it, I know how much the part costs, and I know what needs to be done. However to actually access it would be a pain. I called them up and asked them how much it would cost to replace it. I believe I spoke to Steve and he mentioned generally about 200 or so. Now, that would be the case for many cars, but not this one. So I asked Steve if he could check book time. Book time is basically the amount of time, in a perfect scenario, it should take a mechanic to complete a task. They can then give you an estimate with respect to their labor rates. For example if hourly labor is 150 and book time for say changing a starter is 1h, they can say the labor cost will be $150. Steve looks at book time and is surprised because it's higher than normal about 2x more time and was wondering why. I mentioned, that to access it you have to essentially remove a few other components. He mentions, well, you can bring it in and we can take a look. I was hoping maybe they'd have easier ways of accessing it and mentioned I'm going to think on it a bit. I went under the car again and decided, "Nope. Too much work." I called back and setup an appointment. I drop off the car. I'm not happy with where the car manufacturers' engineers decided to shroud the oil pressure switch and essentially up the replacement cost but it is what it is. Anyway, I get a call back and the price I have to pay is essentially 1h and the part. I head on over and am very surprised. I forget the name of the mechanic (think it started with an M) but I asked them, "I'm surprised that you got it done so fast ... how?!" They mentioned they'd dealt with those cars before as they're common so they rigged up/made a special tool to reach in and do it. That was when I decided TrueTech is a stand up place. They could have charged book time and believe me you, I would've paid it. However they had a seasoned mechanic who knocked it out and passed those savings in their time, as savings in my pocket back to me. This isn't just a good honest mechanic being a good honest mechanic but also the higher ups, the managers and or owners. It seems that is their standard too as they've always been pretty booked which says they're more about doing good work in good time and if they make good headway, you may luck out. You may not, their call :-) but again, book time is perfect world setup, not rusted through, seized on, broken off ... stuff. It is still a good way to understand what you may be looking at aside from the actual part. Since then if and when needed, we go to TrueTech and we've always been happy. P.S. Once they have you in their system (i.e. e-mail / phone), their estimates app, progress, etc and everything is great. Especially if you have a smart phone. I saw where someone mentioned they had difficulty with getting a response and I haven't ran into that. If anyone does run into that, call them and just verify they have the right info.
